Do they give an explanation on the website at all because if they do I'm missing it.

under mario's name it states, withdrawal.
i read it was based on personal reasons.

you know they will have to announce something tomorrow night when the guys perform.

remember two seasons ago when one of the guys was removed due to a battery charge? the contestants can not have certain charges against them and still be in the competition.

hoping the next show will be fantastic!!
i still enjoy the talents of the guys more than the gals.

the 12 perform on tuesday, with the eliminations announced on wednesday.



nothing is posted on the idolonfox.com site on the change today. only mario is not listed in the final 12 but nikko is.

i just came back from the american idol discussion board. go to idolonfox and to any contestant , then on the right side you can access the discussion boards.

many are posting the reason mario left. one person said that they have the october 03 issue of playgirl and mario is in it .........another person states mario withdrew as he and amanda avilia are a twosome........(she left and went back to las vegas) another poster thinks its for mario to record now and not be under contract to ai for the final 12.


who knows why he withdrew.......but it's an eye opener of what people are saying in that group.

No!!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked Mario! And I didn't like Nikko, I wish they could have at least replaced him with someone that was good, but I guess it's the only fair thing to do. But he's obviously not going to get very far, considering he had almost the lowest number of votes.

George Huff was a replacement last year for the DUI guy and look how far he made it. You just never know.
Although, he's not one of my favorites.

i can only think of the two contestants that were asked to leave.
frenchie last season and the guy that was accused of hitting his teen sister.

was it when the alleged abuser left the show and that gave george the opening ?

i don't remember the DUI one you mentioned.
being this is the fourth season we are on, i forget some of the highlights of the past shows.

I don't remeber the guys name who George Huff replaced. But I do remeber that the guy went out to celebrate making it to the final 12, got drunk, drove and got cought. So they have to let him go and brought in George.

Then there was the guy (first season I think) who lied about his age. He was in his early 30s but didn't look a day over 20. He too was let out of the competion and was replaced by some one who was voted out the week before.

Really? I don't remember that at all. Guess it's all just fading now...I did like George a lot - but I was sure he make it on his own to the top 12.

All I remember of it was a small blurb in the TV guide. They didn't really talk about it on the show, or any of the entertainment shows.

Although, he's not one of my favorites.

But in George's case, he was never voted off. The fans had nothing to do with him not making it to the top 32 (as opposed to Nikko, who didn't get enough votes to advance). The judges picked the top 32 contestants and he was not one of them. Then they added him in after the other guy got a DUI

Are we sure it was 32. It's been a while, but I thought it was closer to the final 12. But I'm sure you are right.

Awww! I'm sooo upset about Mario withdrawing!! He was my favorite. Guess all my support goes to Anwar now, but still...I was swooning over Mario as well. lol...

ARGGGG! I came here to post that question on how they do things now that the guys and gals are together. NO AI TONIGHT!!! I'm having withdrawal pains!

The show on Tuesday must be longer though, yes? I see on the Fox site it starts at 8 EST but it doesn't say how long it runs.

At least 24 is on tonight.

I liked Nikko so I am glad that he is getting the chance to keep going.

I don't think Mario Vasquez would have won so he probably made a wise decision in leaving when he did. He is a very good performer but stacking his vocals against the others especially during the specialty songs phase would have highlighted that weakness. Better that he left on his own terms rather than as a loser.
