Actually, I think Ryan's a bit too full of himself most of the time (that whole "Seacrest, OUT" thing makes me ), but DW and I both joined you in laughing at that comment One of the rare honest moments in reality tv...lol

We looked last night and those were definately dreds. They are thinner than what most dreds are but they dreds. The other guy has braids.
Yes, we made a point to check out his hair and we were all in agreement! LOL

As far as the show it was pretty good. I agree with the judges that alot of them played it safe. I liked Anwar, Bo and Mario. Looking forward to see if the girls mix it up any.

Dreds are twisted (in a spirally pattern) and braids are well, three part braided. At least that is how the dreads are done around here. It may be a regional thing or a different style but that is how dread are "grown" here.

I did notice that Anwar's hair wasn't as thin as the other contestant. Nikko had great hair last night. I can think that Anwar let his extensions grow thicker. There was a three week or more difference in the time frame of the other auditions. Braids do get thicker since more natural hair creeps into the extensions. (at least that is how it works with some.) Again, YMMV due to stylists, type of hair used, technique, etc.

Well, there is plenty of eye candy for you men with the female contestants. My DH thinks Carrie and Amanda are quite fun to look at...lol! And for once the judges let people through that over 16-19. So that means that he is "allowed" to think they are fun to look at b/c they aren't minors! Yay for him!

Paula's not a hottie? Granted, she's not 20, but I think she looks pretty damned good for a 40 year old woman.

Of course, I admit to having a mad crush on Ryan. I've loved him from the beginning, precisely because he is the only one that doesn't seem to take himself too seriously.

I admit her personality is a bit scary. She's obviously taking some sort of mood altering drugs, there have been a few shows where she looks like she's in a stupor.

I still think she looks good though. I'm her age, I wouldn't mind looking like her.

I think that Paula is gorgeous when she isn't in one of her hazes. I wonder what she takes sometimes that knocks her out so badly? But then what do I know? I like Simon.

I have to agree with whoever said that it was creepy hearing the last guy doing Micheal Jackson. I can't listen to his music anymore without thinking about what he is charged with.


I think most of the guys sounded great. I didn't like Joseph and Jared at all. Yuk!

I love Scott's voice, but he looks like an ax murderer. DH says that he is the guy whose Dad said that he would amount to nothing during the first auditions.

My favorite so far is Bo. He sounds much better than Constantine.

My DH and I were discussing last night that Ryan doesn't seem as enthusiastic anymore. It's like he's just going through the motions.

In previous seasons, he used to personally chat with them after their auditions. This season, he only taped the opening and closing segments and the voice over.

I really liked his talk show...I was sad to see it cancelled. Maybe he's a little bitter too.

Personally I find myself agreeing with Simon a lot. As soon as the performer is finished, DH and I assess them quickly. Most of the time, we are right on with Simon.

My DH knows a bit about music/tone/singing, and can talk about pitch and such. And as soon as Randy mentioned Constantine "sharp" notes, I nodded in agreement.

I appreciate Simons blatant honesty. To get praise from Simon is a big deal. He never "puffs" anyone up.

Thanks! My DH and I share the same user name, but he doesn't post much anymore. He loved creating our signature though!

I only wish I had enough sense to buy Alyssa that outfit in a bigger size for this summer too...I keep watching for it on Ebay.

Tasha+Scott, his show was on for less than a year. I think it was on Fox at 4 p.m. here in Cincinnati. It was a pretty laid back format, and he managed to get a lot of the bigger celebrities.

Ryan seems to be a work-a-holic...he took over for Casey Kasem's American Top 40 and he has his own radio show in LA too.

I definitely agree.

I know I am in the minority here but I am not a huge fan of either Anwar or Bo. They just don't seem that special to me. I wouldn't go out and buy one of their CDs whereas I would some of the others.

I could see Mario or Anthony winning this. Since Anthony is so similar to Clay and there are a lot of Clay fans out there, I think he will make it far.

I liked Bo and Joseph the most last night.
Constatine did better than I expected though.
I usually like Mario quite a bit - but I did not care for his song choice at all.

I have to agree with the judges - most of the guys performed really boring "safe" songs

Should be interesting tonight watching the ladies!

Me too! "Most" of the time I agree with him. I CAN'T STAND Paula's "everyone is wonderful" attitude and I am so sick of her attacking Simon!!
