I just posted this on the Scott thread, but does anyone out there know people who actually own Fantasia's CD? I don't mean who enjoyed her on the show or who like a song or two, but people who actually OWN it. Anyone? :confused3

Nope, I own Josh Gracin's CD, that's it.

I tried calling to vote the other night and kept getting a recording that my call could not be completed. I can never get through to vote.

Wait about two hours after the show and try, if you are still up. I don't have too much of a problem voting then. :)

The only AI contestant that I would even consider following after their run on the show is Kelly Clarkson. I don't own any of her CDs, but I like her voice and love the song she does on one CD I have that is made up of various artists.

None of the others has moved me to buy a CD.

This year might change that. Time will tell.

This is a serious question.

Is it song choice? Scott seems to pick lite rock and soft rock songs. Hall and Oats, Phil Collins, Luther Vandross, Brian McKnight are those artists his fans like? Is that the type of music you typically listen to.

Same with Constintine or Bo. They tend to do harder stuff. They've both done the Black Crows and Blood Sweat and Tears. Is that the music you like.

We know song choice really hurt Nadia. While I thought she could sing I don't know if I ever really loved any of her choices. IMO she failed to "get" the meaning of some of the songs she sang - Time After Time really sticks out.

So if your a Scott fan - do you normally like the type of songs he chooses.
Same with Bo or Constantine fans - so you normally like artists who have a little more grit?

Here are a few interesting articles on a vocal coach's opinions on the performances and why Nadia lost.

The site, foxesonidol, always has interesting opinions on the contestants.
Those were very interesting articles. Thanks for posting the links.

The reasons for Nadia losing were particularly fascinating. Hopefully, Bo's fanbase will rise up and keep him in this thing now. Whether he likes it or not. ;)

Actually, I usually like Lite Rock, Oldies, and Country. I loved Bo's renditions of Freebird and Jim Croce's song.

NO WAY!! I just looked at the article from the link that damo posted and was instantly drawn away from it when I saw that Jim Varraros, Carmen Rasmusen, and John Stevens all had ads for their CDs on the same page!!! WHAT?!?!?!?! Jim and Carmen dont' even look like themselves! If you're an old school die hard Idol fan you have to go check it out! Yikes!

About Bo and his mom's bet: http://huntsville.about.com/od/huntsvillians/ss/bobice_2.htm

And the Bo Barbie available on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=84628&item=5572898098&rd=1

Well I vote for Scott but like harder rock better. I do not liisten to Luther Vandross at all and have no idea who Brian McKnight is! I love Lynrd Skynrd and Queen but do not think Bo or Constantine sing that very well. So it isn't the song choice AT ALL. It is the singer to me. The voice.

Holy moses....is Jim Varraros the guy that had two deaf parents?
I can't even remember really what he looked like but I know it isn't what I just saw on that cover!!

Personally, it's the rock thing for me. I'm a displaced "head banger" from the 80's - loved all the 80's hard rock bands so when I saw Constantine audition he grabbed my attention right away. Then I heard him sing and well I was hooked, when he mentioned that he had a rock band, I found them and ordered a CD. I love the music he sings, I love the theatrical touch he puts into each performance, I just love to watch/hear him perform. Love the way he plays to the camera - that's HOT!!!

I would NOT be heartbroken if he doesn't win, in fact, I kind of want him to not win Idol so he will continue with the band and maybe do some more musicials. I would hate it if he won Idol and they tried to change him in any way or make him into something he's not - know what I mean???

My hearing is fine. I do question the hearing of those that like Constantine though. He is most definitely karaoke or possibly cruise ship talent.

My hearing is fine after 42 years and too many rock concerts to count................what?? did you say something?? I can't hear you??? :rotfl:

<just kidding, I couldn't help myself, I had to say something funny about what you said>

I own both of Kelly's, Clay's, and Kimberley Locke's. There's no way I would ever buy Fantasia's. I just don't like her voice anymore.

I own Clay's CD, Clay's Christmas CD, and Josh Gracin's CD. I like Kimberly Locke's songs on the radio and Kelly Clarkson is okay. If Ruben had stuck with the Luther Vandross-type sound, I would have purchased his, but he kind of went off the deep end if you ask me.

I would never purchase anything by Fantasia.

I think it's pointless to keep insulting other voters. Neither Scott or Constantine are 'only' karaoke talent, it's an insult to suggest that they are. The question IMO is who best represents the American Idol in talent, attitude and overall package.
I completely agree. It is just a singing competition so I don't get why people are being put down for whom they like or don't like. I like Scott, but honestly I don't want him to win AI. I would rather someone like Vonzell or Bo win. They are more talented IMO.

damo~ Thanks for posting that ebay auction for the Bo doll. It gave me a laugh! It does look like him and I am a fan but there is NO WAY I would start bidding up to $200 (probably more when it's all over!) for it. Wow!

Wait a min....who is Jim Varraros? What season was he on? I honestly don't remember him. If he was on Season 1 then I wouldn't know him b/c I only saw the last 2 shows of that season. Someone please refresh my memory. Was he in the top 10 or 12?

And to answer your previous question, I don't personally know anyone that owns a Fantasia CD and I would never buy it. I didn't like her during AI and I don't like her now. I also didn't like Carmen Rasmusen or John Stevens but looks like they both have CDs out now too, so I guess someone must have liked them or something.
