I was listening to Simon's comments tonight. Earlier today, on Ryan Seacrest's show, Randy said that some contestants should have gone home but were hanging on because every time Simon said something bad about them, they got the sympathy vote. Simon, for the first time tonight, was nice to Anthony. I wonder if it is an experiment. Simon was also very subdued about Constantine. I really was expecting the karaoke comment, but he simply said "Astonishing".

It will be interesting to see how the votes go.

I went back and watched Scott and what happened was Simon was saying "lets keep it real here" and Scott said "whats real is im up here and millions of people at home don't have the nerve to do this"

My son had a band concert, so I missed up to Vonzell.

I caught Vonzell, and I thought she did a great job, on cute, uptempo song.

Constantine--WOW! I went in expecting the worst, but he did a great job.

Carrie-looked extremely scared and uncomfortable "dancing". I could tell she messed up on the lyrics as well.

Scott--BAD!

If you were a Designing Woman fan there was an episode where Carlene had a smarmy manger, took her money and booked her into a club..but turns out there was no booking when they got there. The nice club owner let her sing and that was the song she sang. It is a very slow country song. nadia punched it up a bit...but still it's a boring song.

I remember Desinging Women, and I vaguely remember that episode. Can't say I remember the song from it though, so evidently it's quite easy (for me) to forget!

Oh geez, Desinging Women. Now I feel old.

You know it's Sad when you watch reruns of Golden Girls and what seemed like mildly amusing when it was first on now seems... annoyingly familiar.

Nadia- so-so and kind of cheesy.

Bo- I liked his performance. No he wasn't Lynyrd Skynyrd but who is?

Anwar- This guy does absolutely nothing for me, I just don't see it.

Anthony - Better than the last few weeks but nothing all that special IMO.

Vonzell - I liked it. It was a little theme parkish but she sounded good.

Scott- Bad, terrible, just awful. And I was in his corner until recently.

Carrie- Good voice but stiff and unnatural.

Constantine- Great job! He also didn't eye the camera as much and moved nicely.

Best - Constantine with Bo second and Vonzell third.

Worst - Nadia, Anwar and Scott but I pick Paula to be voted off.

I liked Nadia tonight. My favorite was Constantine. He's growing on me as well I think.

Bo didn't do as well as I thought he would.

Scott was horrific. The chorus was not bad but the low parts of the song were about as far off key as possible. If his nasty comment to Simon, coupled with his poor singing tonight and his recent bout of bad publicity don't send him packing, I don't know what will. Hmm, I just found out my wife has been voting for him. I better pick up the phone and start voting for Carrie right away!

I think Scott sounded rather arrogant tonight. It's okay to disagree with the judges, but you can't get argumentative with them (that was one of my problems with Mikalah). I think Scott will be the next one to go, after tonight's performance.

I agree completely. Other contestants have 'back talked' Simon before and it wasn't so bad. Fantasmic oops I mean Fantasia comes to mind. However Scott's comment was as much an insult to the people out there voting for hime who are 'too scared to do what he is doing' as it was a slam to Simon. Scott needs to control his temper a little bit. Hmm....

I'm still holding with Carrie & Constantine as my favorites/best performances.
I thought Nadia was good even with the bad song choice and I really enjoyed Anthony tonight as well. Scott - bleh! Haven't liked him all season and tonight he was just plain awful. He needs to go home!

Fantasia used to be mouthy with Simon in the beginning last year too...it really turned me off. If you can't take Simon's critique you shouldn't be in the show.

Nadia- i think she might leave. i thought it was dull. i changed the channel.

Anthony - it was ok. boring still tho. better than last week tho.

Vonzell - i thought it was good.

Carrie- i did not like it. i love "love is a battlefield" but i thought she butchered it honestly. she didnt even get the words right. i mean, how hard is that? i didnt like it.

Constantine- awesome. i love bohemian rhapsody. love it. he did really well.

Worst - i hope that scott leaves, i think it will either be scott, anthony, or nadia.

I'm not a fan of Constantine but he was the best by far tonight.

I normally really like Anwar but I was surprised he received praise from the judges. I thought he was just okay.

I'm ready for Scott to go.

If Scott doesn't leave tomorrow, I will be shocked. First of all he is by far the worst singer left in the competition. Second of all, he's already lost fans because of what he did to his girlfriend. And now with that back talking to Simon, who does he think he is? If anyone missed what he said, he basically said that no one else has the "nerve" to do what he's doing. Any fans of his would have to feel really dumb voting for him because basically he's insulting them, saying that they don't have the nerve to do what he's doing. Um sorry Scotty boy, but maybe most of these people don't have the "nerve" to perform in front of millions of people because they, unlike you, realize that they can't sing, and wouldn't want to humiliate themselves.

That was the one thing that made me really mad about tonights show. My mother and I were so disgusted because we don't like him or his attitude.

Other than that, I liked tonight's show, even though I only knew one song. My favorite would definitely have to be Constantine. I was worried when I heard what he would be singing, but I think he did really well, and was probably the best tonight.

I didn't think Nadia was as bad as the judges thought she was. She sounded good in the beginning, but then I noticed the ending wasn't that good. I do agree though, that Vonzell is getting a lot better. At first I thought the top 2 girls would be Carrie and Nadia, but now I think it might be Carrie and Vonzell.

Carrie was also really good tonight. I know a lot of people complain that she doesn't show enough personality, but I think she did tonight.

And I was very happy with Anthony tonight. I've always liked him and I'm glad the judges finally had something good to say about him.

As far as the bottom 3 goes, I don't really care who it is as long as Scott goes home. IMO, after Scott is gone, any one of the remaining 7 could be in the top 2 or 3.

Constantine ROCKS!!! He did awesome!!!!

Paula.....get some help...I just about died laughing when she almost fell sitting down...OMG! Maybe we should go back to the clear COKE glasses....

Bo...i thought he did pretty good. I agree that he does not seem to want it anymore...some spark has gone out of him or something...
Anwar...I used to like him but not really anymore....
Anthony...unfortunately he did better than in past weeks...he won't make it much farther through
Carrie...I admire her for trying to break out of the "country" mode but it did not really work...she still has the best voice of the competition.
Vonzell...she is definitely the most improved idol...early on she was forgettable but she is sounding better

I think it will come down to Constantine and Carrie ( at least i can hope!)

In order of preference:

1) Constantine: What could have been a disaster might have been the best performance this season. I never would have guessed that someone would have chosen this song for American Idol. Six minutes of an epic song boiled down to ninety seconds. Ultimately I think it worked because Constantine knows theater and was able to recognize that this song is probably the most boldly theatrical classic rock song of all time. I'm impressed at the choice and the execution. Absolutely wonderful performance, he's my new favorite.

2) Nadia - The judges didn't like her, but I do. She's my favorite of the girls by far. She knows how to interpret lyrics and she's got lots of charisma and I thought both of those aspects were in fine form tonight.

3) Anthony - Excellent. Anthony's voice is really well-suited to 80's pop songs, and I liked his performance.

4) Vonzell - OK, probably deserves a higher ranking, but I hate the song. Hate it. From the moment I first heard it it's only gotten worse.

5) Anwar - I just love his voice, but his style does nothing for me. I'm really sorry to say that, since he was my hands down favorite in the beginning.

6) Carrie -- Eh. She should stick to Heart if she wants to "rock out". She does have an incredible voice though. I guess she is like Anwar to me, technically perfect, but something about her doesn't grab me.

7) Bo - if there was ever an Idol contestant/song combination that should have generated fireworks, this was it. It was an adequate performance, which for Bo is a huge disappointment.

8) Scott - His performance wasn't as bad as I've heard from him, but he has that same botox look on his face that will never be marketable in the real world. And what a way to win over the audience! Insult them! He's one cocky somebody is all I can say. If there is any justice, Scott will be the next to go.

Better than last week although I think I was one of the very few who actually liked last week.

Nadia: Well I still like her voice but the song didn't do a thing for me. And what's with the hostile looks? She could sing the Lord's Prayer and would probably still look angry. Score: 3.5

Bo: At this stage of the game I'm trying to keep in mind how they've done in the weeks that have gone by. Bo is starting to bore me and I hate saying that because he was my favorite. Didn't like the song but he did a pretty good job with it. Score: 4

Anwar: Bleech! Somewhat out of tune and the tempo was all wrong.
Score: 3

Anthony: I don't like that song and the last few weeks he's been terrible. What a shock to hear him do such a great job. I think this was his best week.
Score: 4

Vonzell: Holy Cow! Someone who actually acts as if she's alive. Fun song done very well. I really like this girl. What a come back for someone who was in the bottom 3 last week (but didn't deserve to be, IMHO). Score: 5+

Scott: While parts of the song were out of his range, he really did a super job with the chorus. I was set to send him some votes until he bad mouthed Simon. This guy needs to learn to shut up. I was really glad there were no phones in the general vicinity or it could have gotten ugly! Score: 3

Carrie: Carrie is who she is. She looked like she was in pain out there tonight. Even so, she was OK and because I'm trying to consider all the performances, she got a vote. Score: 4

Constantine: The only other performer who seems alive out there. I love this song and I thought he did a good job with it. The high notes were a bit off though. He needs to get off the camera. I was surprised the lens didn't fog over. Certainly one of his best performances for me. Score: 4.5
