Official all things Princess Half Weekend 2015 thread! DOoneY and offical mErcH on DisneyParksBLOg

DD and I are thinking of going to MK on Sunday afternoon. We just upgraded to APs. Which makes me think, I should change my signature.

Coworker #1 started talking about not getting into the Big Sur Marathon down Highway 1 despite trying all 4 registration times & then not being able to get a charity bib on Monday. Then we started talking about races & I mentioned its ashamed we didn't just sign up for PHM. Coworker #2 chimes in. We decided to maybe look if charity bibs were still available. Turns out GetTravel still had both PHM & Glass Slipper Bibs available as long as you booked a room for two nights through them. Well, I had no DVC points left for my April 2014 Use Year so I would need a room anyway. Send Coworker #1 & Coworker #2 the information about GetTravel. Coworker #1 was unsure about the money along with the requirement and such. Coworker #2 got excited.

Coworker #2 & I just went for it today to not risk GetTravel running out of bibs. If Coworker #1 decides to go for it, she can either get her bib through another travel agent or we'll call back and add her to our room.

We figured we would go for the Glass Slipper because why not? We're going to be there anyway, might as well get another medal.

We're staying Thursday the 19th to Sunday 22nd at Pop Century (only hotel left through them) We'll get up there after work on Thursday, enjoy the expo on Friday & the races on Saturday & Sunday.

Prior to this race, I'll have the ToT 10 Miler in October & the Star Wars Rebel Challenge in January. This race will also get me my Coast to Coast! I'll probably run Wine & Dine in November 2015 so my husband can get his Coast to Coast. I'm having to figure out how I'm going to fill my training plan in between the Rebel & the Glass but I have a few months until I have to deal with that.

Coworker #2 will have two long races prior to this in the fall - a Savage Race & a Tough Mudder.

Are there discount park tickets available for race weekend? I have not been able to find any information on this yet and I would like to get some planning done on what parks we'll be attending. Thanks!

This is my second Princess weekend, and first for the 10K. I'm planning on running the 10K - my DD has to be back at school on Monday so the timing for the half just doesn't work for me this time. :sad2: But really excited about the 10K. :cool1:We'll be vacationing in Daytona Beach, and a few days in WDW, for the week before the races. In meantime, I'm planning on running the Wineglass Half in October, and a few 5ks... I'm from upstate NY.

So...they released the medal and shirt designs for the Goofy today. Do you think that means we will get to see something from PHM earlier this time?

Nope. They are desperately hoping to sell out goofy. I think that's the only reason we saw the shirt.

Does anyone remember what time the Ever After Party was?

What is the Ever After party? Is that the Downtown Disney thing? I read a trip report that said there wasn't anything to it. Has anyone else been and thought it was good?

It wasn't super exciting, but there were discounts at various places and Fit2Run had a wheel to spin to give away stuff. I actually looked at the program and it was from 2 to 8. I was trying to figure out when to make my ADR in case I wanted to go, but I couldn't get anything until 6:15, so I'll go before I eat!

Good to know the timing of the after party. It will help when park planning. I need some feedback. My sister found this race in NYC. http://newyorkcity10k.com/

It is, however, not listed on the USATF link in previous posts. Should she register for this race or look for something else? Opinions please. Thanks.

They shouldn't call it a party then! :rotfl: Hmm, I may need to stop by and spin a wheel though. :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone,

So at certain times I obsess over random things thanks to the nerves/excitement of the upcoming race.

Right now, I am obsessing over where my friend should go to cheer me on the morning of the PHM. We are staying at POR. Should she take a bus over to EPCOT and be at the finish line? Is there a better place along the way? I find the cheer squad a little confusing (and feel bad asking her to pay to cheer me on when she's already coming along to Florida for moral support)... My only runDisney experience has been in California and it is not needed there.

Any input would be soooo welcomed! :thumbsup2

Hope everyone's training is going well!

-Kat

Made my ADRs yesterday. We are there 2/18-2/24. Got almost everything I wanted, couldn't get Le Cellier on the 23rd. We're a group of ten, so that complicates matters. We will be at California Grill on Sunday too:) I'm hoping to add the new Italian place Trattoria al Forno (taking the place of Kat Kora) on Friday night pre-10k once it opens for reservations.

I make our ADRs tomorrow! I keep having nightmares I won't get any of them!

What do you all think about Typhoon Lagoon post race? My dad and aunt will be taking the boys to the Kennedy Space Center that day, basically giving us the day off. We were thinking it might be nice to lounge around the lazy river.
