"Official" 2025 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Has anyone been with a 3 year old before? We’re going in October for the first time and are debating if we should take our kids to the party. It would be about $750 for all of us (our youngest would be free). But I’m struggling to determine if it would be worth it? He wouldn’t want to wait in line to meet characters. He does like parades but might be scared by this one? He’d enjoy the trick or treating but it seems like an awful lot to spend if I’m not sure how much he’ll get out of it
My daughter couldn’t handle the late nights until she was 10, but you know your kid best. Last year, we were on a bus back after an 11 pm close (not party) next to a sleepy 3 yo and 1 yo. They were cranky but ok.
What else would you spend that $750 on if you don’t do the party? With littles, I would choose LLs or an extra day or a character meal. But your priorities may be different.

This will be my first party. It will be me, my 6yo and my 3.5yo. Any advice? I've solo travelled with them before but never a party. They can stay up late pretty easily, especially the 6yo.

We are going to the first party. Will there be two times for the parade? I think my priorities will be the firework show and the parade and be go with the flow with what the kids want for the rest. I was thinking maybe try for the second parade so if the younger one is tired he can just sleep in the stroller?

We are staying at Saratoga springs but I'm thinking of driving (I'll have my car) so that it will be easier to let the kids sleep on the way back to the hotel. Juggling two sleeping kids plus our stuff will be hard on the bus. But I've never tried to park at MK before...thoughts?

Also any ideas for costumes that will be ok in the heat? My daughter said she definitely wants to dress up

So excited 😊 😊 😊

Yeah, we’ve pushed him until 9 with no issues, but haven’t attempted later than that before. I think he’d be ok until 10 if we did a later nap (assuming we can get him to nap!). But I’m leaning towards using the money on LLs or something, I think we’d get more use out of that

Not sure how much easier it will be to drive when you have to park at TTC, then board either the monorail or ferry boat to get to the park.

For a hot weather costume, something based on Moana?

Have a great time!

Good point. Maybe we'll take the bus there and do a Minnie van on the way home

Just a heads up, if you leave right at the end of the party it can be very very hard to get a Minnie Van, lots of people are trying to use them and they only have so many cars. More often than not we haven't been able to get one at the end of a party. We've had better luck getting one when we leave a bit early, like 20-30 minutes before the end of the party.

Thank you. Good to know

Given the description you’ve shared, I’d skip the party this time and save it for when your children are older.

The youngest I’ve taken is 5 and he was asleep in the stroller long before the fireworks. We’re not strict on bedtime at Disney, but it was a lot for him. If you plan on being back in October in the future I would personally wait and save the money.

We’ve taken our-then-3.5 yo for his first party back in 2009, his older brother was 6. We were able to do the entire party but we also fly in from the west coast so our boys were used to being 3-hrs behind. I don’t think either would’ve made it past 9 at those ages if we didn’t have that time zone buffer. Even so, my MIL ended up holding the youngest on her lap in her wheelchair when he got tired.

Yes we typically come once a year (varies which month), but we’ll definitely be back in October at some point so I’m not worried about “missing” it this time

Very random but my MNSSHP ticket for 8/29 (DVC discount) disappeared from my MDE. Couldn't re-link since it was already linked (FUN). That said, ticket help desk was able to rebook easily and quickly, and also shared that there was a known issue with tickets for this party date. May impact some and not all, but wanted to give a heads up in case anyone else had this issue.

I’m taking my 3 year old to two this year!
She went to one last year and enjoyed it but only made it to 9. We also made the mistake of doing MK in the morning too.

I think she’ll get more out of it this year because she now she loves dressing up and meeting characters.

Probably has to do with capacity being set aside for D23 members for this party because Destination D23 at Coronado Springs Resort Convention Center is that weekend. D23 members will be able to book this party date through a separate link on Thursday, maybe the IT stuff involved in creating that separate avenue for tickets is needing up MDE

That makes sense! The ticketing tech desk agent said it was because they had to create a new ticket type, so that tracks.

Annoying, but glad it was fixed.

Should the tickets actually show up in my account? I have the email with the barcode but no tickets. I tried linking them but got an error that they had already been linked, when I hadn’t tried to link them before.

Just bought our tickets for Sept. 12. We're sailing on the Treasure Sept. 13, so this will be a fun way to spend the night before our cruise!

Mine was listed under My Tickets & Passes in MDE but not in Future Plans. It said it had already been linked too even though I didn’t link it.

Mine has never shown up there, 8/29. I tried scanning the barcode yesterday but got that error. I guess I get to call to Disney and have them fix it🙄
