"Official" 2025 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

It is extremely rare Disney will refund due to weather that is not park shutting down level.

That said-
To those thinking of buying tickets from OTAs like Viator (meaning your charge is billed to them and not Disney)- a reminder from last year- maybe don’t. Refunds are a mess.

I believe I was at the only party last year that Disney automatically refunded everyone after a disaster of a night- only entertainment was fireworks, drenching rain and t-storms, I left at fireworks and hundreds and hundreds of people were lined up at the ticket booth/guest relations outside MK. A push notification went out around 11 that everyone would be refunded or given a 1 day park hopper valid for one year.

I got the park hopper as I bought via I think Viator- but it was useless to me as an AP holder. It took a long time at AK guest relations the next day but Disney issued me a gift card in place of the park hopper. It was a mess, I will only ever buy direct from Disney or a Disney TA (because they never done process direct with Disney).
I was also at that party, and towards the end of the line to get a refund. To be fair, they were very good and just refunded an equivalent amount to my credit card even though I had purchased through a third party in the UK. As you say, it was park closing weather though!

UK may be handled different. They could not find a way to refund cash for the US non-Disney TA 3rd party bookings.

You’re crazy to wait that line! Respect!! Sounds like it paid off. It was halfway to CR security when I was staring at it waiting for my MinnieVan- and I thought at the rate is was growing it just might hit CR security 🤪

lol yeh crazy… I seem to remember it was the longest line of the whole vacation! But I had 8 tickets at stake so was worth it 😬

Scheduled to be at WDW 8/24-9/5. I’m about ready to strangle my extended family that are coming with us for part of the trip. They say they want to do MNSSHP yet when I try to get them to nail down a date so I can purchase tickets on Thursday…crickets! If they don’t want to go, I’d prefer to do the party in Sep if they don’t go. Kinda at a loss what to do🤪
Having worked in the travel industry I'm the 'volunteered' travel planner in my family and when I can't get answers to questions I make a decision and tell them what I'm booking. This usually gets a quick response. Choose a date and tell them "I am buying tickets for my family on May 15 (or whenever you plan to buy them) for X date, you're welcome to join us but know the tickets do sell out so I would buy soon!" Then wash your hands of it. Either one of two things will happen, they will either suddenly have an opinion on the date you go or they will remain silent. If they don't get to go that's on them.

Maybe I will go to the first party then....I don't know! Only 2 days to change reservations and decide
Wife and I were in the 'we can't go this year' boat when we planned our august trip around my sisters availability so when they announced yesterday and realized we were gonna be leaving 3 days before hand..... Yeah I extended my trip by 3 days so we can go. I'm going to temper our expectations because it's a first night but I just love the Halloween party and am excited I won't be missing it this year.

I definitely wasn’t going to do another MNSSHP this year. Then I remembered ROA is going away. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in the minority as I cheer this call- but I will miss the ambiance during MNSSHP so one last hurrah is what I’m telling myself this year! …if I don’t float away in a torrential downpour…

I saw a post about making reservations for during party for The Plaza, Be Our Guest and Cinderella' Royal Table opening for resort guests on June 12.

If we wanted to eat at The Plaza for say a 4 or 5:00 reservation, that's not considered during the party right? So we would just do 60 days out like normal? Normally we show up to party around 6 as we have a few days planned at MK.

Excellent advice!

Now that we have party dates I feel like I can plan our park days. We will have four day hoppers and plan to start one day at each park. On our party day I can’t decide between spending the first part of the day at AK or HS. We will want time to come back to our resort (Poly) for at least a short break and then probably plan to head to MK between 4 and 5:00.

AK is our least favorite park (don’t come for me), but we definitely want to do the safari and Pandora. Love HS and we’ll definitely hop there on another day, but I can’t decide. We will only do AK once and won’t spend all day.

With such a short AK to-do list I would choose that park for the morning of the party. It often opens earlier than the other parks, so you can get in and out sooner, giving you a longer break. Even if it doesn't open earlier, with only a few attractions on your list you can knock it out before lunch time.

Going with my 3 year old and Jack and Sally is high priority! Was planning to do party on a rest day to not wear her out. But trying to find best strategy for meeting Jack and Sally early..
If I have an AP and my daughter has regular ticket for that day can we walk up to a non-party entrance about 3:30 with no wait, enter and then hang around the entrance till they’ll give us a wristband and book it to Jack and Sally?
Will they give us a wristband at the front if we entered early with park tickets?
Debating if it’s worth adding a day to my daughter’s ticket for $50 to do this instead of either waiting outside the entrance in the hot sun for hours or inside for Jack and Sally for hours…

With a AP and a day ticket you could get into the park as early as you wanted. I'd check the old threads to see when the line for J & S unofficially started. You will not be able to get wrist bands until 4pm, but you don't have to be at the front gate to get them. There's usually a wrist band station in Adventureland and another someplace else in the park. IIRC, people have lined up for Jack and Sally without wrist bands, and then gotten them in line.

The line for J&S will start at 4:00. You will need a band to get into line. (It's been a few years since I've heard of them handing out the bands in line.) They have been actually starting the meets not oo long after that. No autographs - they will give you an autograph card when you leave. There have been occassions where their wait later in the evening was pretty reasonable (under 30 minutes).

I was just thinking the front gate is the closest wristband location to jack and Sally so thinking I’d get it there (I’ve heard sometime they start at 3:45..) and then run to Jack and Sally

Maybe a dumb question… MK closes at 6 and party starts at 7 — are rides still running like normal from 6-7? I imagine some day guests are sliding into the Tron queue at 5:59 (more power to ‘em!)

Yes, attractions will be open but wait times will not be displayed in MDE between 6PM and 7PM.

There are some attractions that have holiday overlays. I’m not sure if they close for a bit to flip over or, if it’s a basic flip of the switch at 7PM?

For Space Mountain, they close a bit for the switch over. We got in line at 6:30 and were told it was 10 minutes. We got to the top of the ride about 10 minutes later, but then everything stopped. The ride cycled through some empty cars, then stopped again. We were told it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait before they let passengers on with the MNSSHP party overlay at that point. (At which point we left, because we have no patience. :P )
