Official 2024 Universal Studios HHN 33 Thread

I personally have never done HHN but waited at Citywalk the last two years while my daughter did it with some family friends. (A movie is a good option for those who don’t want to go but family is going @ambula603).

This year my friends probably will not go and I have said I will. Dates we are looking at is 9/27 or 9/28. There is not showing a RIP tour either date. Will dates be added later or are they sold out? I am not committed to doing it or thinking it is worth the money but would like it as an option as we decide what to do. Thank you!
Most likely sold out. They sell very quick and they've been on sale for 2 months

We are planning on attending Oct 23 or 24. Interested in joining someone's private RIP tour, but I am not on Facebook. There will be 2 or 4 depending. Please DM me if you have space. Thanks!

I might have asked about this in the past, but it's popped up again. Supposedly Bush Gardens has specialty lanyards to mark people who don't want any jump scares. Friend insists this means HHN will soon offer the same thing, and thus, our person with mental health issues should be 'perfectly fine' going to HHN. Can anyone confirm if these lanyards exist at HHN or are rumored to exist this year? Is there a way to avoid all jump scares at HHN?

They do not and I don't expect them to be offered. The whole point of HHN is for this sort of experience and Universal is very up front about it.

It don’t really see this as possible at HHN . You are in a Conga line of people. The scares are timed to go off at a certain point. So you can’t really know if you are going to get the scare or not. Plus it’s still dark and fog in the park with the scare zone.

If you don’t want scares then Not So Scary at MK would be great for you.

Universal doesn't have those lanyards. Only way to avoid any scare actors interacting with you would be not going those nights...they have scare zones posted right up at the entrance inside the park.

They don't as others said. I cant see them doing it with the volume of people.

SeaWorld does this and is in Orlando. I think they are like $15.

Lots of parks have them. At Cedar Fair parks we typically call them "No Boo" Necklaces.

I will just add that those lanyards are usually only good for outdoor scare zones at many parks so someone can travel through the parks with their friends/family since sometimes there are not alternative routes. If you choose to go in a house/maze, they are asked to turn off the lanyard.

I also do not want to see them at HHN, but since it is a completely separately ticketed event it is easier to not sell them. In the case of the park I work at our AP holders can also stay for the Haunt event and those who bought day tickets can stay as well. Even though our kids area closes early those nights, many families appreciate the ability to opt out of the scares without opting out of the park for everyone.

Does anyone know how quickly the day time Unmasking the Horror tours sell out? There are only two days during a trip when the tours will work for us, so part of me wants to purchase those tickets right away. However, the house I really want to see is Ghostbusters, so waiting until we learn what house is on which tour (6 house vs 3 house) seems smart. Do I have that luxury?

I found a reddit post from late August saying which houses were on which tour for 2023, so it looks like that's the timeframe for announcements.

I think the price can and will go up. If I recall correctly last year I had to cancel and then rebook and the price had gone up.

I also think last year more tour became available maybe as they hired more guides, IDK.

Id probably book the 6 house to be safe. They are also pretty good about letting you cancel or make modifications.
I'm pretty sure the 6 house sell out more often.

I'm also not sure how soon they start announcing what houses are on the tour, but since they are offering the three house starting 12th I guess we will know sooner than last year. That said the three house pre HHN and the three house during HHN may not be the same.

So yeah no clear answer for you - you could call VIP services and see what they say. They are extremely helpful at least as much as they can be.

If we already purchased two nights of tickets, can we upgrade to frequent fear pass when they release them?

I looked away and touched the purchase button for HHN Express Passes 💸🤮☠️
The three of us are first timers and we want to experience it without standing in massively long lines. We have annual passes, so we are definitely doing „Stay & Scream“ to preview a few houses before the hordes rush in. Booked Aventura since it was cheaper than Cabana Bay. We want to hang out at Cabana Bay pools on check-out day. That is allowed, correct?

Yes, you may need to stop by the CB front desk for a "pool key." Unless you have your heart set on the lazy river, you might also consider SF pool, which is a nicer actual pool and an easier walk from Aventura.

Does anyone have a favorite YouTube channel that covers the HHN and Universal News? We watch Disney Food Blog to get excited for Disney trips, I'm hoping there's a HHN/Universal equivalent.
