"Official" 2024 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Haha, yup! Well, we're staying at the Contemporary for three nights before moving to the YC, but we booked there for when we're going to the party so we can walk home and avoid the buses. We really really hate busing home at the end of these parties and Minnie Vans are super hard to get at that time.

Same here, we will probably catch the boat back to the Poly. Hate the mad crowd rush at the end of events like this.

Why not consider staying at the Contemporary and walk back to the hotel in 10 minutes instead?

Possibly because a Minnie Van is a fraction of the cost of a night at Contemporary. Not everyone can afford a deluxe resort.

How about Minnie Vans? Do you think they will be running?

They are, but are super hard to get, lots of people are trying to book only a handful of cars. We've tried many times but have only gotten them twice, and one of those times was 30 minutes before the party ended. Also, one of our drivers did mention they don't run too late after the party, so at some point buses may be the only option.

This is a slightly quicker timeframe than last year when the 2nd party sold out 7/25. As you can see in the sell out data from last year this kinda kicked off the sell-out announcements so if you're on the fence it might be time to start thinking about making that call- especially if you're looking at an August party.

Years ago we stayed at the WL and took a boat back after the party. This obviously could have changed since Covid. We were at copper creek and the bus lines and boat lines were crazy so we thought we’d be clever and walk to the contemporary and take the WL boat from there. Silly us. Those boats stopped around 9 or something so we ended up walking back. By the time we got back, the boat line was almost nonexistent

I’m almost positive the monorails were also running as my mom was at GF and I know they didn’t bus back (it was before the path was open).

This was in 2018 or 2019 so obviously things could be different now. We are there this October and I’ll try to pay attention to what is running this year.

In following along the thread, my comment was responding to a person who was already planning to stay at another deluxe on the monorail route…thus my suggestion for the Contemporary to be able to walk back after the party.
Your suggestion makes sense for others though.

I'm going so nuts waiting for news I organized our pin collection. We have pins from 2007, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2023. I feel like we must have gone from 2008 to 2011, but maybe the pins were sold out???

This is where I'm at! I have concerns in general about getting around the Parks to/from DAKL this September, but it was such a steal!

We are going in September as well. We've stayed at AKL several times and never had an issue getting around. We've closed down the parks several times including our MNSSHP party and a bus has always been waiting. Enjoy your trip.

I think the bus concern is overblown. It’s like exiting a park at closing, lots of people, lots of buses, you may have a typical Disney bus wait but nothing beyond that.

Agree. I’ve been to many parties the past twenty years. I have only traveled by bus after parties. It’s no different than leaving MK after regular fireworks
