Official 2021 "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" Thread

Many people with APs (including me) were told we would have to go to Will Call to show our AP cards to validate the discount & “activate” our tickets. I will also be watching what others do in August since we don’t go til mid September. I seriously don’t think it will be necessary. I linked my confirmation number in MDE & got a “your tickets are linked & ready to use” message after I did.

But if anyone is going to guest services, I was told we could do it up to 10 days in advance. No need to wait til the day of your event unless you
won’t be there earlier.

I ordered our Boo Bash tickets online and the email I received specifically said that I could simply go to the park entrance with my magic band (below). I believe this was the default option for online purchases, but I imagine it would work for everyone who has the tickets linked. We used the AP/DVC discount, if it makes a difference to anyone.

I have two "hard tickets" sitting on my dresser right now. It's an option, you just have to choose other delivery options at check out. You can even have them 2-Day air shipped to you if you need them that quickly.

Interesting - I ordered on the phone and my confirmation email looks totally different. Mine reads:

Will Call
If your order is Will Call, pick up your order at any Walt Disney World theme park ticket sales location.
For annual passes purchased as gifts: If purchasing annual passes as a gift, the recipient can pick up the passes at the ticket window 24 hours after purchase and must provide:

  • The order confirmation number
  • A government-issued photo ID (The address you provided for the recipient in the Guest Information step above must match the address on the ID. If recipient is a minor, the parent or guardian must show a government-issued photo ID that matches the address you provided.) Please note: Gift recipients can call 407-939-7532 for assistance with linking annual passes to their Disney account for FastPass+ planning. Guests younger than age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.

For all other ticket purchases: If purchasing item(s) other than annual passes, or if purchasing annual passes that are not a gift, you'll need to present the order confirmation number, a government-issued photo ID and the original credit card, Disney Gift card or Disney Rewards® Redemption Card used during this purchase.

My email looks the same. It even has a barcode that can be scanned at the gates. Ours are linked to MDE though so I'm assuming we can just scan our bands (as we have with MNSSHP and MVMCP in the past). But it's nice to know the email is a backup option. We did order online, not by phone.

I am trying to help my parents plan a trip to Disney and they want to go for the Halloween party. How long does this run? I see that during Halloween there are very few on property hotels available and those that are are super expensive. They are retired so are flexible.

Question merged with the Boo Bash thread. Please read opening posts on page 1 for a lot of great information.

I just called the Boo Bash ticket number and went to AP option. Had my self all set up to work on computer while waiting for however looong might take. Imagine my surprise only took 12 minutes to get someone online to purchase Boo Bash tix. At end commented on the short time to answer and cast member said more cast members signing on to shift. She said because I have AP discount have to show yellow AP card at guest services at any time. Don't know if this is old info but maybe helps somebody

We are DVC members and AP holders. It gave us the option of either discount online, and I believe I choose the DVC option. Perhaps this is why we don't have to worry about showing our APs to anyone? It would be interesting if purchasing with an AP discount (but not DVC membership) really forced you to need hard tickets or a trip to the will call window.

I bought the first week they were available to onsite guests, went to the AP option, got the AP discount and was told I had to go to Will Call/Guest Services at any time before the event to show proof of an AP. I have to anyway for my DAS pass when I first arrive so I'll enquire, I'm not going to one of the first events though so it'll probably be cleared up well before then (I go on August 31 and will arrive the day before, so there are numurous before me). I usually buy party and event tickets with my discount online and have never had to prove my discount, this is my first over the phone ticket purchase, so it's all new to me to have to go and "prove" I have an AP that they can honestly look up themselves in the system pretty easily right then.

I bought with the DVC discount (we don't have an AP). I did call ticketing again this morning and she told me that Will Call for this isn't going to be at guest services - according to her they will have cast members with iPads just for this to look up and verify tickets. I'll be interested to see the early reports. We aren't going until the very end of August so I guess we will have time to adjust our plans if needed. I also wonder if they would let me go pick up the tickets for the whole family since the DVC is in my name and that way the kiddos don't have to just wait in line if we do end up having to go the guest services route.
I think if they are really forcing anyone who bought over the phone with the discount to get hard tickets then they are going to have a lot of angry people to deal with. It seems pretty silly to have people call in, have the cast member verify their status, and then still make them go prove it again on the date of the event, so what the cast member told me this morning makes sense to me logically.

This isn't what I was told at all, I was told I could go to any guest services. I guess we'll all have to see once it gets going for sure. I hope the first event goers don't mind being guinea pigs lol

With only 2 dates left in October left and with it only being 2 weeks since tix were even released, I absolutely DO see Disney adding in Thursday nights for this event. It's a complete and absolute money maker for them and MNSSHP was always on Thurs, Fri, Sun, and Tues anyway.

Anyone have luck calling and getting tickets to dates that have just sold out?
I will answer my own question… I called and they said they don’t have access to any tickets for the BB that I can’t see online. We are staying at the BC, and she said that resorts won’t have tickets either (I thought in the past they had a limited amount, but that was to MNSSHP, not sure about After Hours events). She said you never know if they will release more tickets later, but she may have just been saying that to make me feel better. I have been looking at the tickets for several weeks, watching different dates sell out, and didn’t pull the trigger last night because it was DD’s 16th birthday and we had a lot going on. Tonight they are sold out.…

I'm in the same boat kinda. We will be there for the October 24th date which is 1 of the 2 dates left in October. I have struggled for a while about whether or not I should buy them and have secretly been hoping I'd check it and they'd be sold out so the decision would be made for me. The truth is, we can do a night of HHN at Universal AND Scream-O-Ween at Sea World for about HALF what 5 hours of Boo Bash would cost us. I mean, I get that US and SW are not the same as Disney but they'll still be a ton of fun. Tonight we just decided to use that money and do more activities instead of spending it on a 5 hour party. We can literally go to 3 other different parks for the price of BB.

IF Disney adds in more nights (and I do think they will, in October for sure) then I'll reconsider at that time if funds allow.

Thank you for this thoughtful reply. I have been feeling sad about it, but your comments helped me look at it more objectively. We have been to MNSSHP and the Christmas party, as well as OBB at DLR for Halloween, and while they were all great, I am not sure they were worth the very high price. Maybe it is not the end of the world that we didn't get the tickets... I will watch to see if they release more dates, but I don't think we can make the Thursday night if they add that. It sounds like you made the right decision for your family! Have FUN!!
