Help!! Am I doing this right?? We have a reservation for 8 nights at POR. If mods are getting QS only we would have to upgrade 4 adults (teens count as adults, right? Then it will cost close to $700 to upgrade but right at 1,000 to stay at AkL. That would be the best spent $300 at Disney ever. Going to go check again!!
Im in similar situation with three adults two kids.Would cost 580$ to upgrade at cbr to TS dining.Versus staying at BC would be 1000$ more.420$ difference. Not sure what to do.What would you guys do?? Thats assuming the Deluxes have availability for standard room.

While we are in the PH+ topic, I was trying to read up on this ticket. It looks to me, that if you bought a 5 day base ticket, and added on the PH+, you would have 5 days that you could be at the regular parks (and of course, hop back and forth between them) plus... you would get 5 days of the "extra stuff" like mini golf, water parks, ESPN. Am I wrong?

I read through on the Disney site about this plus option but I found it a little confusing. So if you get a 10 day ticket with the PH+ option, does that mean you can do your 10 days in the 4 parks (MK, HS, AK, Epcot) and then have additional days to do water parks and other activities (e.g., golf)? Or are you simply allowed to do the extra activities during your 10 ticket days? Thanks...

This is probably one of the most misunderstood, confusing aspects of the "MORE" ticket.

The "MORE" is separate from the other in this way: Let's say you have a 5-day park hopper PLUS (more) ticket. You do have 5 days to enjoy the regular parks with hopping all around. You also have 5 entrances to the "more or plus" options. NOTE: you do NOT have 5 DAYS of "more;" you only have 5 entrances. So if you go to both water parks on the same day, you have used 2 of your 5. If you go to one water park on 2 separate days, you have used 2 of your 5. You can go to the regular parks and a water park on the same day, and you will have used 1 day of your 5 day parks and 1 of your 5 entrances.

Got it?

It seems like there isn't much availability at the moderates, so I can't blame Disney, but wow--Quick Service plan only? I don't see any value in that at all.

I am glad that we were able to enjoy Free Dining when it was worthwhile. Good luck to those of you who still want this offer.

I think I miscalculated. My TA has my reservations so I cant see costs of just the dp.How much is the regular dp for adults and kids? I think staying at cbr is cheaper than going deluxe. For us five. Staying 8. Nights, with ph plus for nine days.Help!

No. You don't need to cancel first. MDE will allow you to hold multiple reservations.
It is just so interesting that you can use the same name and same credit card and hold more than one reservation. Hmmm, when you book don't you fill in names and ages in your party? So you just do the same thing twice? Suppose I need three rooms with all my family....then I could literally book six rooms, the new three for the FD and then cancel the old three? It seems Disney wouldn't allow this?

It might not sound good .. I would do aoa suite rand upgrade to ddp

Booklet???

I don't know about LauraJean but I stay for the people and extended family. We had planned to move away when we were young and first married but family support when you have small children is invaluable. Now that they are older, it's hard to move away from our pensions.

My plan is to spend winters in FL after retirement to avoid all that snow that we have every year.
Yup...many folks have this plan that's for sure. The only thing I like in Florida is Disney and Universal, otherwise it's just blaa to me...sorry don't mean to offend any Floridians....just my opinion. You get used to a place and nothing else feels like home.

This is really helpful. Thanks for posting it! One question to clarify: does it mean you can use the 'extra' activity entrances on a day where you do not use one of your tickets? We usually go for 14 days so we usually have 4 days without park tickets (we usually get a 10 day PH). Would we be able to use these ten entrances on the 4 days we do not have park tickets? Thanks again

My husband has lost his mind. We were booked at POFQ but going to switch to an available mod when free dining was released. After the news of probably only QS at mods he called yesterday and changed the reservation to Pop and when free dining comes out we would just pay the difference to upgrade to standard dining.
This morning he wakes up and changes our reservation to AKL !!! :rotfl2: I predict before the 24th he will have changed his mind again LOL. :surfweb:

Oh and he's been stalking this boards multiple times a day even though I told him they were *mine* (lol) so hey honey! :rotfl::rolleyes1:wave:
He might be a little Disney World obsessed.
I love the fact that you truly have a Disney Husband. It seems many of the women take the lead on these things. You must be thrilled!

:offtopic: Just in for a yard work break. Don't want to come back and find 30 pages of missed reads...LOL! Got to keep up with all you fanatics!

So if I booked a reservation from the 11th to the 17th and free dining came out on the 14th I would not be able to modify my reservation online? I can't figure out if I'm better off modifying my reservation by starting it from the day free dining is supposed to apply and booking the previous days as room only or waiting till it drops to modify online...
Anyone out there able to help me with this; pleeees :worship:

Hey! Jumping on board.... Not sure if this has been mentioned, has anyone heard if FD will be released early for Disney Visa? TIA
Surprising my fiancée with his first trip!!!! :)

Similar situation for me the only mod available for my stay if por is not included is cbr pirate room. So for me to book that and upgrade dp would I could stay in wl and save $130 or akl and spend an extra $7 that is for a standard room.

I got that. But can you stay 8 days, buy 4 day ticket plus "extra" option and stretch The water parks past 4 days?? Or do the water park allotments expire when the 4 theme park days are used up? Or as we do for a 8 day trip. Only get 6 day plus water park. Two days in the middle are resort/ WP days. We slways end with them park. But had we done 6 days in a row theme, would those extras still be valid on day 7/8. technically our ticket package had ended. Never thought of this.

Yes exactly. You have 14 days from the start of ticket activation to do it all. So, say you don't want to do a park on arrival day, you could do golf or water park or one of the extras. That starts the clock ticking, and you have 14 days from then to use all 10 theme parks and 9 additional extras. You could reverse that and use the extras on departure day. Or anywhere in between.

We have three rooms booked for December all with the same credit card but we had to have different names for each reservation. The person the reservation was made by needed to be different because our dates are all the same. If that makes any sense.

I'm sure the answers are somewhere in this thread but wow, it's a lot of reading. Has it been essentially confirmed that mods are getting the QS plan?

If you get free qs at POR and only pay 700$ to upgrade I think thats cheaper than AKl.Whatever your cost is at PoR deduct the cost of regular dining plan and just add the 700$ upgrade cost.Let me know what you calculate, this is how im crunching the numbers and hope its right. For us its three adukts two kids. The ref dp costs about $2064 for eight nights. If the qs is free then im deducting that $2064 I would have paid and adding 580$ which is our cost to upgrade to reg dp.Total trip ends up being about 4668$ versus 6442$ at BC with FD.Am I right guys?

that is the current rumor/information. nothing is "confirmed" until a FD/discount actually drops.
