I feel like the past 2-3 years we had a "heads up" about FD. I knew for sure the night before, I think the dates/resorts were not 100% accurate though

we usually have a good idea that FD is coming, 24-48 hours in advance. Most years that dates are pretty close to the actual ones; last year the dates were spot on.

That's why I keep getting up early every morning and checking. I don't trust that it will be on a Monday.

it's a Monday the last couple of years, sometimes a Thursday.

I've just about reached my waiting limit for FD. I think I'm just going to rebook a new reservation with the FL discount. My aunt and brother are coming with us, both live in florida, so I just may re book with them as the reservation holder. It's about $100 per night cheaper...

Going to repeat myself, if we don't manage to snag a FD discount, is the next thing room only discount? What is/where is that usually? I can find heaps about FD historically, but not room only discounts after FD drops...

That's a good question because I'm sure most of us who booked for the fall have paid rack rates and it's supposedly a "value" season, right? So we should at least qualify for room discounts?

Mousesavers posts a list of historical offers and drop dates. I believe the fall room only offer is usually released at the same time as FD (or very close to it). https://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/

This should give you a good idea to figure out price comparisons and historical discount levels.

From what I can tell, it looks like you can get either the regular dole whip or add vanilla swirl to it at the Poly, but at MK it's just the regular dole whip. I asked the girls which one they wanted to try and of course they said "both".

Well then you will just have to try both! I think the vanilla swirl sounds yummy!

I am also losing steam in the wait. No new rumors have come out for about two weeks and I'm starting to just not care as much. I find myself checking the forum for updates on fd less and less often. At this point I'm thinking it doesn't matter if I get it or not.

If it makes you feel better I have not had a dishwasher in the 8 years I have rented the house I live in now. If I know its gonna be a long week and I'm gonna be really tired I buy paper plates and bowls. It helps make it bearable when you just cant muster the energy to hand wash a sink full of dishes.

I gave up using my dishwasher years ago to be able to lesson my carbon footprint. Just saying, it's another way to look at it.

Last year they ended up releasing fall discounts for up until November 4 at the same time as FD was released. We chose to go with RO discount instead of FD because we really wanted POR. Unfortunately our trip was for after November 4 and we had to wait even longer for late Fall RO discounts to be released. I can't remember exactly when they released the second set of RO discounts but I think it was August. The RO discount was lower too, only 10-20 % off. I am hoping they don't release the RO discount in waves like last year, and that they release them all at once. I am really hoping they decide to include POR for FD in the late fall.
