I thought the same thing but when I called they offered a better deal than was available on their website. Might be worth a call to see what they quote.

They do verify your info to make sure you are the correct person so you may not be able to use it.

I go to Universal in five weeks. We love Universal too and I'd sure like to get Free dining booked so I can put the Disney trip on the back burner and enjoy the anticipation of our May Universal trip!! It's weird being this Disney focused when we are so close to Universal. The kids keep talking about it and I'm all "Sure.. whatever.. free dining."

I think people need to start posting "I'm not going unless Disney offers FD for my dates." If the Dreams Unlimited crew is aware enough of this thread to mention it twice in their daily fix podcasts, and it was in the top 5 threads for March, I'd be willing to bet Disney is at the very least aware of it. I'm just sayin'...

My guess is still for the 17th. Partly (okay mostly) because the kids are home and i can go back to sleep after FD drops. I also have the idea that they are already trying to attract us Canadians with discounted tickets maybe they want to release it on a day that many Canadians have off so they see the offer and book. That's just my selfish want to sleep in theory. That and the 24th is my birthday and I really don't want to spend it so tired, LOL!

If FD happens to not come out on the 17th, think what a great birthday gift it would be if you could book FD at POR on the 24th! You'd be too excited to be tired!

Lots of people will stay onsite at Universal since it's so much cheaper, plus they got a new water park opening and several new park attractions especially for those that haven't been in a couple of years.

My package at Poly is over $10k, same time same amount of days at Universal Hard Rock club level AND HHN tickets and the Universal Dining plan is about $6k.....big difference.

I had a question about the Disney Vacation Account. If we set one up now and end up canceling our reservation and rebooking to get a FD deal, will that be an issue or can we just link it to the new package? Should we wait until our reservation is set in stone?

We mainly just wanted it as a fun way to keep our Disney money seperate from our savings and get the gift cards.

Your account has to be active for 120 days to get the gift cards. And it says they do give refunds to the account. I'm not sure how quickly it goes back in. I need to open one of these for next year.

My package at Poly is over $10k, same time same amount of days at Universal Hard Rock club level AND HHN tickets and the Universal Dining plan is about $6k.....big difference.

I've never priced the difference like this before... that's a crazy amount! Off to Universals website to see what it would be if I stayed there (still staying at Disney but maybe my next trip...)

I got it a few weeks ago, it's the one with Pandora on the cover right, I priced out a similar package with that promo for 5 of us the FD is still a much better deal, the dates we have in September are IMO much better anyway!!!

I priced it out as well. Our dates + FD are still better for sure! Makes me feel better. I all but peed myself a little when I saw something that referred to Pixie Dust on the flyer. Hahah. ... then I realized it wasn't for me and not for my dates. Blorp.
