I know we're off topic here but we've been talking a lot about MNSSHP so... How many people do you think just stay in? I don't mean to be a wet blanket for anyone, but if I'm paying that much money for less crowds I don't want extra people crowding the streets. (Here's a Mickey head so you remember that I'm nice )

When we went it was pretty crowded until about 7. The cast members are constantly checking people starting at 4 pm to make sure you have a Halloween wristband but people still find a way to stay as long as they can. Once it was 7 it wasn't too bad.

Thanks I didn't have this info anymore. They removed 2013 from the data I was looking at when 2017 came out.

was hoping for FD in 2013, same day FD dropped PINs went out too. I did not have one, but my sis did; we used it to book FD at POFQ! FQ was on my bucket list, FD made it even better.

I believe 2013 was a split release too. They only released the first half (late august through September) early in May. I remember waiting and waiting for FD as I had an October 2013 trip planned for me and my BFF for my 40th bday, and we were relieved when we got a pin code for FD and used it, and didn't have to keep waiting for the October dates to be released.

yup. later Fall dates did not drop until late July.
we went in October and sis got a PIN in May; was such a relief to be booked

Ok, so I REALLY don't mean to be a wet blanket or rain on anyone's parade. **please do not throw anything at me** I am just as anxious as everyone else for FD to be released (which is why I am here)..... BUT Disney JUST released summer discounts on March 27th (about a week later than last year). April 10th would ONLY be 2 weeks later. Usually, there are about 4-6 weeks between major seasonal promotions being released for the US. I find it hard to believe that April 10th will be the release date, but as we all know The Mouse will do whatever he wants. Just my opinion, please only throw pixie dust.

Totally possible. I definitely won't be getting excited without solid intel. It's fun to guess, but we don't have much to go on yet.

I'm going to throw some cold water on some of this excitement. Having those two MNSSHPs in August and that early one on Sept 1 could draw more people to those weeks and remove the possibility of FD. You gotta think Disney is doing their darndest to get people in their rooms, so they don't have to offer it anymore than is necessary. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Just talked about this with my friend who typically travels in August - this year they opted for Disneyland instead as her and her sister have never been - and then these dates came out. She is like they are trying to pull people in that last week - with a PAID FOR event not anything FREE

The deal for summer that was just released was not near as big of an offer as free dining it was also very limited. Most people booked the meal summer deal that was released earlier. In fact Disney is hardly even advertising the summer offer now so I don't think it will have a large bearing on free dining.

2013 it was May 9th, a Thursday.

I think 2014 was the "awful year". FD was rumored for May 7 and then did not drop until that Friday. there many, many horrible posts when FD did not drop as predicted.

This is the only year that I got free dining. It dropped May 7 on a Wednesday. I checked google to make sure and multiple sites have this info.

Did you have a pre-existing reservation? Did you go online or were the call centers open? We have two rooms that I would really love to have free dining on family of six.

Yep we won't know until we know. I have the luxury of staying up for a few run throughs just in case. We can all think it will be like this year or that year or that people will hear (no offense to our insiders) but the fact of the matter is we know nothing. No sweat off my back to stay diligent and keep checking.

Truth is we don't know anything. Some things point to Monday 10, we've heard rumors of 17. But also that it could be the latest yet because summer deal came out late and could be May still. No good intel just waiting.

I'm so excited that the dates have been released! We've never been to the Christmas party so I'm really looking forward to it. I will miss the trick or treating though

Also, when I click on the ADD DINING PLAN button, it won't go to the dining plan page. It just refreshes and goes back to the original page!! Is this a sign that FD is coming soon?????
