It's me and three small kids plus another adult whose not doing EB.I have EB for me and kids only they are twins age 8 and one 11.So we should save the non EB adult a seat by having two kids in one row and me and third child in adjacent row to save seat for our fifth person?Never flown SW

If you all have to sit together, spend the money and buy the other adult EBCI. If someone wants to sit in an open seat, they can---and will. Up to you whether you want to take that chance.

If your friend wants to sit with you they should purchase the EB check-in also. It is unfair to others on your flight to save seats when the option to purchase the EB check-in is available to all. I'm guessing it might also be your 11 yo who has to keep telling adults they can't sit in an (available) seat because it's 'saved.' Unfair. Just do the right thing and purchase EB check-in for all.

Booked in CBR for November; with the BB days not including November is that at sign they will not offer November for FD as well? Historically have they offered a BB in November? If they don't offer FD in November that would mean my family of 5 would have to stay/eat elsewhere this year

Nobody really knows what dates will/will not be included until the offer is officially dropped.

History has proven that the FD Dates offered to the general public are not identical to those of the BB offer so I would not give up hope yet.

Saving one seat should not be hard to do; its the people who have large parties to save seats for that are the major issue. Just put a bag in the seat you are saving and have the adult do online check in 24 hours before your flight so his seating assignment isn't the last one.

Yes, your EBCI numbers will be separated but hopefully you'll still be able to sit together. The only way to guarantee your party is not separated would be for the 2 people who wish to sit together wait and scan in with the later of the 2 boarding pass numbers. We have done this in the past when our EBCI numbers were not together.

Better safe than sorry and a whole lot less room for arguing. People can be pretty rude when they have their eye on an available seat!

Still following this tread but will be watching for a room discount now which usually drop the same day as FD since I changed our dates to 10/29-11/3 which most likely will not be included in FD but should be included in room discounts which works out to be a bigger savings for 2 staying at a deluxe anyway.

I agree. I pack a lot less these days though. Our one week trip in May is a super budget bonus trip. We're paying for one large suitcase for four of us, and each bringing a carry on. That will be more than enough for pyjamas, swim stuff, toiletries , 2 pairs of shoes and outfits for four days. I'll do laundry halfway through the trip. Not ideal, but to take 2 trips this year, I'll cut corners where I can.

I know we are off topic a bit, but plane flights do play a role because we can't book until we know our dates. I wouldn't want to mess around with trying to change flights, ugh! And...I could care less where I sit, but that's just me. I usually head to the back. Carry on everyone....we still have miles to go before we wake.

Our limit from Mass. is to drive to Virginia. After that, we get pooped out.

Same here...for us part of the fun is the road trip and stopping off at interesting places along the way. Plus it's much cheaper for 7 people than flying. We're only driving from maryland though, I can't imagine the drive from Canada!

9 hours from Raleigh, NC was enough for two adults in their twenties. I cannot imagine driving twice that with three kids. Sounds like good memories though.

We are now about 18 hours away from WDW and we will definitely fly.

We are now about 18 hours away from WDW and we will definitely fly.

I would drive it, but not from AZ. I drive the six hours to Disneyland though. We wake up early and drive over in time for the gates to open.

It's so much cheaper for us to fly than drive and then we can afford to go more often. Last year it cost us under $400 for gas in our SUV for the whole trip! We split it up between 2 days and stayed in 2 hotels on the way up and 2 on the way back. Last year flying out of Buffalo for our family of 5 the cheapest flights I saw was for $1700. We saved around $600 by driving! I'm lucky my husband doesn't mind driving and the kids think it's fun to see the mountains!

We drive 17 hours from Missouri. It's part of our Disney tradition. We love to load in the car super early in the morning, all the snacks we pass around throughout the day, passing through the Smoky Mountains, and the many silly memories we've made when we're punch drunk. The drive is all part of the fun and excitement for us.

My nephew, his girlfriend and four children are all driving down from Maine for Spring Break in April. I could never do it, never mind with kids...I'd be so exhausted, not to mention I don't like riding in cars for more than 3 hours tops. But I understand the saving money thing...that's why they are doing it. God Bless them Every One!

We're driving from Oklahoma in September. 19 hours. Breaking it up into 2 overnights there and back. Just 2 of us. And it's STILL cheaper than flying.
