Official 2016 Star Wars Half Marthon - The Dark Side Weekend

Again referencing the delayed marathon plane event - no restrictions. We had to take all our luggage (as I had lost the ME tags and didnt trust them to pick up without the tags). Picture two people dragging their luggage around the whole expo, yep, that was us.

Thanks for the info. Good to know, I'm a little worried about flight delays!

Fyi, i land in mco @ 8:45 am on Thursday. I will be picking up my luggage and getting my rental car and heading straight for wwos..if anyone needs a ride then let me know.

I get in on Wednesday, but I just wanted to say it is very awesome that you offered this :) We are quite the happy family on here!

To continue in the DIS family spirit, I land MCO at 10:50am on Friday and will be going in my rental car straight to WWOS for expo if anyone wants a ride there.

Looks like I'll be landing at MCO around 10:50 on Thursday if anyone wants to share a cab or Uber to the expo!

We're getting in to MCO at 10:20 on Thursday. Planning on taking DME to the resort and then over to the expo from there. After the expo we are heading to DHS for some FP and SW fireworks. :-)

I'm a first-time MORNING half marathon runner. I've the Wine and Dine a few times in the past, and I have generally ran in the evenings (due to my schedule). This next week I want to get my body used to the morning change up. Any suggestions on what time to have dinner the night before, and what time to be in bed by? I'm doing the Challenge, and this will also be my first Challenge ever.
This varies soooo much, I don't think anyone can answer it conclusively for you! Me? I NEED sleep, so that's my #1 priority: I'll aim to be in bed no later than 6-7pm. And I have no problem falling asleep then, so that gets me a solid night's sleep before these early races. I generally have dinner in my room around 5-5:30, so I can eat, get ready for bed, and get to sleep without worrying about getting back to me room from a restaurant. That said, this time I'm having dinner with friends the night before the half and we're eating in a park, later than I normally would. I expect to need a nap after the race Sunday. ;)

How well are the courses marked (distance wise)?
I've been training for my 10K with mile increments in mind but I realized today they may not note miles on the course!

every mile has a marker with a clock on it.

I wonder if this half is starting earlier than other weekends because they are putting more time between the corrals so there won't be too much bottlenecking? (sorry if that has already been discussed, it just popped into my head)

Yes, I believe that idea was briefly discussed at some point; however, the consensus seemed to strongly lean towards an earlier start due to heat concerns. Given that this time of year can be summer-like in Florida, the more miles before sunrise, the better. I am also interested in the corral spacing, though, given the tight path between boardwalk and DHS.

only a few more days to go! Anyone doing any running this weekend? I plan on doing a short run (maybe 4 miles), then another one when I get to FL-just to get acclimated to the heat and humidity. The high here is in the 40s today so it's going to be a brutal adjustment.

I have a 5K with my daughter, but that's it and it's a fun run, no pace or such. Just cardio.

I still have some miles left but all will be at an easy pace:
Sat - 5
Sun - 8
Mon - 5
Tue - 5
Thu - 5 or 6
Fri - 3

I skipped my long run last week to go furniture shopping - is what it is. However, have a cold 10K here in Richmond this weekend!
