Official 2016 Star Wars Half Marthon - The Dark Side Weekend

Speaking of horror stories... Has anyone had trouble with Active.com changing their names?? My wife got her waiver, but she had to get it through her maiden name. We thought maybe she did it by accident, but it turns out her main account name was changed, as well as PAST race registrations. We've managed to correct it, but runDisney now has the wrong last name for Dark Side. Anyone seen something like this?

Yay for bibs and corrals! DH, Myself and my sister are all in G. This is her first Half, and she only submitted a 10K time, so I was worried that she would be further back, even though she's likely to be faster than me. We were all going to run together regardless, but I am happy we don't have to move back for her. G is right where we should be pace wise, although I am worried about the boardwalk bottleneck. Super excited for our first challenge run.

I actually just got off the phone with Disney. The cast member called ME and found out that everything had been mailed on Sat 3/19. She said it usually takes 7-10 days, but that it should be on its way. We're arriving April 15th.

So maybe your stuff is in the mail and coming soon, too!
I don't have my ME info either (Checking in 4/14). I did get the booklet with the coupons in it, and the magic bands are here but no ME tags. I called and got a number to contact ME if I don't get them in a few days. Because I needed something else to worry about :) If worse comes to worse we'll just grab our bags, but still.

I'm in C and girlfriend in F for Dark Side Challenge. Added the 5k at the last minute so I'm sure we're at the back of the pack but we usually use 5k for photos/warm-up for the longer races. Got Magic bands last week and ME arrived today for BWV.

Corral D for the challenge, highest corral placement for me at a RunDisney race, someone mentioned not having submitted a POT and still being in corral J,sounds like the Star Wars theme brought out a lot of new runners to the party.

Question for the racing vets here.. My proof of time got me in Corral D, but since then I've been training through some injuries and I'm at least a min/mile slower right now. Should I drop back a corral or just go with it?

I'd go with it and position yourself at the back of corral D. With the number of runners in each of the early corrals coupled with the bottlenecks that you'll encounter in the boardwalk area (mile 2-3), there will be some areas of the course that will slow everyone's pace in the early parts of the race - once you clear that area, the course will open up and the crowd will thin/space out once out of HS on the road to AK.

I would suggest just going with it. Being in the earlier corral will give you a bit more breathing room as you deal with the slowdown from your injury. You earned the corral placement with your PoT and is there any real difference between you slowed by injury and the others in your corral that are going to end up a min/mile (or more) slower because they choose to take picture stops? Or those slowing intentionally because they are running the challenge?

I'll admit to being a bit biased here, as I was in the same situation during Marathon Weekend (only slowed even more by my injury). I kept my corral assignment, but made sure to start towards the back and to the right so as to be out of the way of the faster starters. Once the race was underway I did plenty of passing as well as being passed. I think you'll be fine where you are.

I'd stick with it. Disney's corral placement does not strike me as an exact science... ;) A lot of time goes by between many POTs and race day -- I think you'll see a mix in D as in any corral.

Does anyone know if bib number correlates to corral placement for the 5 & 10K? i.e. Bibs 1-1000 Corral A, 1001-2000 Corral B, etc

LOL...I have the worst luck with corral placement. For 2015 W&D, I submitted POT but was in P, my friend didn't submit got L. THis time I missed a higher corral by 9 bibs!!!

If you figure this out, PLEASE let me know what you do! I don't know how this happened, but my name ended up on my running partner's bib/waiver for runDisney and I'm kind of freaking out. It's even more confusing because our birthdays are off by one number.

So there are two bibs/waivers with my name. :worried: And nothing for him. And I'm the one who signed us up. I think the "autofill" must have "corrected" my stuff when I was working on his registration.

They do correlate but won't know exactly how until we get bibs. What is your 5k and 10K number (you can do first two with xx for placeholders if you don't want to give out full thing). It will be hard to tell break down until we start to see what is the lowest and highest 5k and 10k out there.

Similar thing happened to me when registering for the Princess 5k. I did both mine & my boyfriends on my active account..ended up with 2 registered in his name with my birthday, shirt size, gender, everything!
Luckly, I caught it well before waivers came out & emailed rundisney to fix it. They just sent me a prepaid link to fill out on his own active account.

I would try calling/emailing so no issues come about at the expo.

Thank you! You've given me hope. I only hope I'm not to late. In our case everything is correct but the name. I did send an email. Maybe I will call tomorrow though, since I haven't heard back yet.

Thank you again!!!
