Official 2016 Star Wars Half Marthon - The Dark Side Weekend

Event Guide finally has a link on the rD website, but still no waivers/bibs yet.

I see the info in there on PhotoPass - fingers crossed that it goes off without a hitch!! Looking forward to not having to deal with MarathonPhoto after the race!! :thumbsup2

So glad the route maps have been posted. We are staying at BWI. Do you think there will be spectator locations there for the 10K and 1/2 marathon?

Definitely. The 10k goes right by the BWI, so spectators can line up on the Boardwalk. For the half marathon, the route goes on the Beach Club/Yacht Club side, so they will either need to walk toward Epcot to the Beach Club or they can walk the other way to see the runners as they enter the path to HS (behind the BWV).

Check out the instructions for Photopass. Do you think this means only one bin per race can be linked to each photopass account or can we enter multiple codes? I.e. If one person in the party has it, they can get all the bibs for their friends or has Disney found a way to lock it down?

Maybe a silly question - does this mean the photos will be part of Memory Maker (as rumored??)

Hey, look: if they set up something AWESOME there for us, then I agree -- that would be great!! I guess that I'm just not expecting anything. It seems that when they are going to do something, recently they hype the heck out of it. Since I haven't heard anything about an awesome after-the-race experience, I don't have my hopes up. So if they DO do something, it'll be a great surprise to me. :) :yoda: :darth: :chewy:
Well, in the past for Wine and Dine they did have backdrops and character meet and greets at WWoS while you were waiting to get into your corral, so it's not unprecedented ... *fingers crossed*
Any guesses is they will have some of the Animal Kingdom water show going for the half? That would be a fun little preview ...

My son is signed up for the 1 mile run. Do I get to choose Friday or Saturday? Or do they assign it to us at the expo? I'd prefer Friday due to Saturday fastpass selections we've already made...

My GUESS from this would be that one person could put in multiple codes. Similar to having multiple Photopass cards linked to one account. At least, that's what I'm hoping... and it would seem to make sense... :)

So it looks like we'll be running on the trail used for Tower of Terror to get into WWoS for both the 10K and half, that's cool, after they cancelled ToT I thought I would never go through there again. Not that its that big a deal but I kinda like the routes, things like going through the trail, going through different ways through Epcot WS and the Boardwalk for the 10K and half and just a totally different unknown finish line have me excited for this weekend.

We had to pick a day when we registered.

I'm running the 10K: the 4m-5m portion looks BORING. I was really hoping for some scenery to get me through that part. lol
