Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

If you remember doing the POT process and you took screenshots as you did it, you have a leg to stand on, so contact them.

No, we literally just forgot to put in my time for validation. (Which ironically is my time from Princess 1/2 last year.) He submitted his and thought he had submitted mine, but it was for another race. So he's all the way in B, and I'm in P. (I'm laughing about it now just... ugh... so annoyed at myself for not double checking.) I don't think there's anyway they'll let me move up now? I know I can always ask (beg? plead? promise first born?) so guess booking it at least until the castle.

Just frustrated because worked for a good time and literally completely forgot to put it in. (Last year was also my first time, and I was in a higher corral than I am now! >.<)

I swear I put my time in--I did them for W&D, Marathon Weekend, and Dumbo and I used the same time for all of them. They say I didn't and now I'm in M. I might've been openly hostile in my email to them...

Mightyduck001 > I am so sorry to hear that!! :( I feel for you. :( It is really frustrating. (I wish they would at least give an option to select using last year's time instead of having to wait to validate later especially in the case of run disney races.) We will be amazing! I know it's super super frustrating. Happy thoughts! (That's what I am telling myself)

OK I have a weird and possibly disturbing question (haha how is that for lead??) This is my first time traveling alone, and while I totally feel safe staying on Disney property, I think I would feel better if I brought my little pepper spray I have . .. Does anyone know if the TSA bans pepper spray inside checked luggage?

I don't know if pepper spay is allowed. However, years ago I brought my running coat with me to MCO and back home. My pepper spray was in my running coat pocket the whole time. I had forgot it was in there until I got home. It is in my coat pocket with my chapstick just in case I need it. It was in my checked bag both ways. I would check TSA to see if it is allowed.

Can we go back to shopping talk? I have never run with sunglasses before, but watching video of the half marathon makes me wonder if I am going to want some. Does anyone have a brand they can recommend?
Sundog is a great brand, espec re Anti-Glare.

HockeyMomNH, I love the cakes in your signature! what awesome jobs!

TSA has a website where you can type stuff in to see if it's allowed (here https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/prohibited-items in the upper right corner). Looks like pepper spray is okay in your checked bags!

Looks like I am the only one running in J!

My friends and I will be in J! I was actually surprised we got that far up without submitting POTs!!

Ok so question... It's about a 45 minute drive from my house, so trying to figure out what time we definitely need to leave by. The event guide suggests you get to your corral by 5, but if the corral start times that were posted earlier hold true, then J won't start till closer to 6. That puts us standing around for an hour; do we really need to be there that early??
We are going to MK on Saturday and one in our group has never been so I'm assuming we are planning a full day there, all the way till the fireworks at 10, so we likely won't make it home and be asleep till till close to 11/11:30. So I'm trying to give as much sleep time as possible.

Also, suggestions for food in MK for the day/night before the half?

TIA for any help and suggestions. Since I just moved to Orlando, my friends are kinda looking to me to help plan things out, but I have never done an RD race or even a half before, and haven't been to Disney in a few years, haha!

Hi Princesses! It's almost time! I want to give the old Coach Charles running comment (I wish Coach Charles would come back to these threads!): "The hay is in the barn."

Quick question: will the monorail (resort and Epcot lines) be running on race morning? To head to the start from the Contemporary via monorail (if that's possible) what time do you recommend leaving? I don't need to be the first person to the start line, but I need time for Port-a-Potty lines and a calm, non-panicked arrival. I've only ever bused to the start, so this will be a new experience for me.

Just thought I would share the route my race took today. We stared uphill and did that for about the first half. Then downhill. Then uphill. Then around the track. There were not enough zombies in the world to make this enjoyable! Here is the link in case the photo doesn't show up. https://www.instagram.com/p/BBc-rlKwE8V/?taken-by=holditflowers

Thank you. :-)

I think that I have decided to go without sunglasses for the PMH. I don't want to try anything new this close to race weekend. I do want to get some for future running though so I am happy for the suggestions.

Am I totally missing where they released the corrals? I thought I read all of the posts in this thread, but I can't seem to figure out how to check for my corral. I have my bib number now, but how do I check the corral?

Edit- found it on the rundisney site, yay! I am in H. I submitted a POT of 2:10 for a half and the time seems to be a full thirty minutes slower than what I submitted. Should I bother trying to move?

Also- anyone think monorail would be better than bus for the half? Or too complicated compared to the bus (staying at GF)?

Oh, and again I can't seem to find the answer to this, search function hates me right now...is it not possible to buy the NB shoes if you don't have a virtual fitting time booked? As in, no walkins, is that correct?

Two weeks, all!!!! Woohoo!!!

Honestly I think you are setting yourself up for a hard race unless you are crazy experienced where 13 miles are a 'daily run' with a long day at mk, late night then no sleep..

Yes you need to be in the corrals about 5, it's also a 20+ min walk from the compound to the corrals, expect 20-30+ min to park, get through security , potty etc so arrival to Epcot no later than 415/430 you could be easily hauling **** to start in your corral or may be lucky to start at all (always hear about someone every year who 'didn't believe' the time estimates..)

For Donald I hit property at 415 and by the time I parked, walked across 3 parking lots, waited the 20 min through security, hit the porta potty and walked to corral I it was almost 5- they started advancing the corrals up right about 540

There will be 25,000 people trying to do the exact same thing at the exact same time-

Just my 2 cents-

For the Half/Full of Dopey, I hit the parking lot at 5:15 and walked straight to the corrals. Had no problem getting up front and in place before Corral L started moving.

Can you set up more than one phone for the runner tracking or does it kick one number out?
