I have a size question for those of you with Raw Threads racer backs... I'm 5'2" and about 110 pounds and I'm looking for more of a tight fitting tank to wear with my Princess Half costume. The ones I have are kind of loose and flowy, which looks fine with crops, but they make me look frumpy with my sparkle skirt. Are the Raw Threads tanks loose? I was thinking I should go with a small but if they are loose, an XS might be better. But then I worry if it'll be too tight! Any help?

My DD is about your size and she wears an XS in the racerback shirts. I wear the tanks and they are closer to form fitting than loose flowy - definitely not a baggy look.

You may want to contact rawthreads to ask if you can do a return at the Expo then you wouldn't have to pay for return shipping if the sizing isn't correct.

I'd go with XS. I wear a small, and it is comfortably fitted, not loose, not annoying tight. Sits against me without compressing if you know what I mean. I'm 5'4" and weigh significantly more (I'm not telling;)) and the small is perfect on me, so I think it might be looser than you'd like.

ETA: if you are buying something regular price you could always try it on and exchange it at the expo I think. I'd email them to check. I always do expo pick-up. Saves shipping, and when I get it I can check it out and deal with any concerns right there.

Just had to thank you @Luv2Run for that super fun course description! That really got my psyched!!

Yesterday I got to run my 4.5 miles with the sun shining on me for the first time in what feels like weeks! Granted it was 37 degrees and there is still a ton of snow everywhere, but there was SUN!! :D :D :D I echo @joan4mickey's wish for everyone to stay safe this weekend on the east coast. My old neighbors in VA are preparing for quite the snowstorm today!

Thank you both! That takes care of my sizing issue. Now I just need to decide whether I want to spend that much on a tank top!

I know I worked a couple extra weeks into my training program to allow for illness/injury/bad weather, but I have to admit, I'm pretty disappointed that I won't get to do my back-to-back that I had scheduled for this weekend (4mi Sat/8 mi Sun). I've been on a roll with my training since returning from the holidays (only missed on training run since Christmas), so it just sucks to be thrown off by something out of my control. It's times like these that I wish I had a treadmill at home, even though I hate those things.

Ugh, those shirts look so cute! Sadly for me, my favorite 'princess" is Jane Porter- there's never any Jane gear- I think it has something to do with the Burrough's estate. It's hard enough finding running shirts in plain old yellow- it is not a popular color.
Anyway- I have a question about food and the half marathon for you experienced PHM people. This is my first run Disney, and we are all coming in Thursday morning. All the advice I've read about eating and races says "Never eat anything new or different beforehand" which makes good common sense- but I'm at Disney World and can't cook for myself! I think our Saturday night meal is at Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is a shame because normally I'm all about adventurous eating -but I have no idea what I'm going to order to ensure I don't get terrible runners trots the next morning. Does anyone have any strategies when ordering at Disney to ensure a happy tummy on race day? Or do I just live off the most expensive bread roll I've ever encountered?

The bamboo fabric is amazingly cool. I live in CA's Central Valley and these shirts are lifesavers in 100 degree weather. My DH also loves bamboo shirts and picks up a new one whenever we are in a Cariloha shop.

I usually wait for rawthreads' combo specials and mystery sets. You won't be disappointed even at full price. :)

We're having lunch at Sanaa on Friday after the 5K, but we eat exotic cuisine quite often at home, so it shouldn't be a problem. However, keep in mind that curry is a natural laxative, so if I were you I would stick to one of the more mild dishes like the NY strip or lamb shank and skip anything too heavily spiced since you're worried it'll do some damage to your GI system the next morning. And don't forget plenty of naan bread, gotta get those carbs! Or shift your Sanaa ADR to another day. We're doing DHS on Saturday after the 10K where we'll have lunch at Sci-Fi (mmmm burgers...), and then do dinner at Riverside Mill so we can do their create-your-own pasta bar (spaghetti!!! yes!), then figure out a way to head back to AKL. I have a feeling I won't be able to sleep very well that night (I never do) so getting to bed super early that night isn't really in the plan. But, I know others try to get to bed around 8pm. I'll be lucky if I turn in earlier than 11pm.

For me, this is a vacation just as much as a race, so I will be enjoying myself and eating pretty much whatever I want. I will go simple for dinner the night before the race; we are doing The Plaza so I'll probably get a sandwich or salad, but I'm not restricting treats or anything in the days before. I'm not racing for a PR, so I don't mind having to slow down a bit to be able to enjoy myself on race morning.

Thanks! We ate at Sanaa two years ago and it was my favorite meal of the trip (plus a friend of the group works there with the animals so we got to feed the tortoises last time)- but I couldn't remember if there were any mild options. I don't think we can shift any of the dining- we have a little girl's birthday on Friday (she's running the mile race) so we're at Cinderella's Royal Table, and we're doing Garden Grill on Sunday night where I plan to eat ALL the food and then go to France for a Grand Marnier slushie. And then possibly go to Canada for Cronuts. I really love eating at EPCOT. And then Monday we are back at the MK and I heard there is a really good breakfast sandwich at a place called Sleepy Hollow.

I get crazy paranoid the night before a race. I've done a flatbread at the Saratoga Springs counter service, or something from Earl of Sandwich, and I've been okay. But, most of the time, I just have peanut butter on bagel or bread in my room. Boring, yes; but also safe, and a good mix of protein and carbs.

On Feb 20, I have a 2pm reservation at Portobello's. I've never been there before, but I'll stick with relatively plain pasta or pizza. Then, bagel & PB before bed!

I was thinking about a PB in the morning- I was going to give it a try before my long run this weekend- (all my training runs now seem to involve some kind of testing- does the new sports bra chafe? Does taking Gatorade make me sick? The only tough part is that I can't test my running skirt on its own in 12 degree temps... I've worn it under my cold weather tights, but I still need a way to test if wearing it on its own rubs my thighs in painful ways...maybe I'll go to Planet Fitness) Do you bring your own PB or is there a place you can buy it?

Quick logistics question for you all. Is it feasible to get to the expo on the Friday around 9:30 and have everything picked up and sorted by 10:30 so we can be in the field for DS' kids dash at 11? I usually go to pickups at non-busy times of day here at home so I'm unsure...
If all you need to do is get packets and race shirts, (no shopping) then yes, I think it is completely feasible. If I am not shopping, I have been in and out of the expos in under 30 mins. I tend to walk with a purpose in scenarios like this (DH and kids say its speedwalking ... it's just not a leisurely stroll)

The Disney hotel gift shops should have it. I usually bring my own though, because I bring big, mostly-empty suitcases that can be filled with tons of souvenirs!
I also bring my own PB. I usually always carry the Jiffy to go with me in my purse. It's perfect for travel, a great snack if you start to feel hungry AND the best benefit of PB... one tablespoon cures the hiccups! :)

Jiffy To Go sounds good, as long as it doesn't get me the side-eye from the TSA at the airport security gate.

I love almond butter more than peanut butter. I buy the individual packs to take with me. Almond butter on graham crackers is my early morning pre race meal.

My magic bands are waiting for me at the post office. I'm planning to paint a Little Mermaid themed one for race weekend.

They are 1.5oz cups, individually wrapped. I think you should be ok with TSA, but I can't remember if I've tried to fly with them.

My local Wegman's sells Justin's almond and peanut butters in little individual packets and they are SO tasty! The vanilla almond butter is my favorite :thumbsup2
