Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

If you go to the Star Wars Half Marathon thread, it sounds like people had to sign out completely and then back in order to register a second person. I would make sure you have accounts created for everyone ahead of time.

Thanks, that is just what I just did! I created a separate account for DD25 and did a dry run on the Star Wars Half AP page. If you click on the "not you" link next to the name that is listed it signs you out and you can sign in the next person. Seemed to work fine. I'm sure I will stress more on June 30th, lol, but for now I think I have it figured out. :)

Good! That's good that you know and aren't having to figure it out on June 30. :)

There is probably an easier way, but I logged into Disney.com and went to the AP holder section under My Disney Experience. Then the events section of that page and it brought up a list of the races, clicked on the link for the race I wanted and it took me to the registration page. If there is an easier way I would love to know it too!

That's how you're supposed to do it. ::yes::

Thank you!

I have DH listed under my active.com account. Are you saying that when you went to register for the race it wouldn't let you list another adult or that active.com would not let you register another adult ?

You can't register another adult under your active.com login through rundisney. Only a child.

Note: This event requires that each adult 18 and over register themselves and sign the required waver(s). Please ask your friends/family to establish their own account and register online.
*Yourself, 18 or older, (Bumber Shoot) This is not you
*Someone else, below 18

And I've just realized that the "this is not you" link on the page is how to log out. LOL.

Anyway, rundisney isn't allowing putting other adults under the active.com account for registration. So if you have more than one adult to register, you have to log out, etc.

Taking the excellent example of others here I did a dry run on the DVC website for pre-registration for star wars half and did the "not you " log out to try and register DH. What I discovered is that since DH and I use the same email address for most of our stuff, when I typed in that email address for registration it said that particular email was already listed for an account. Don't remember having that issue before so I am guessing a new procedure. Will also guess I need to set up a separate email address for DH ? TIA for any and all help !

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of participants that can register "early" using AP or DVC? Is this something to also be online right away or is that only "regular" registration?

I am going to say yes since when I did my "dry run" at 4:30 p.m. CST only the half marathon was still allowing registration with all the other events stating pre-registration was closed.

If you have a gmail account, you can put a "." in randomly and active will see it as a different email address but it will still come to you. So if you have Gyrhndmom @ gmail .com, you can use Gyrhn.dmom @ gmail .com and it will work for him but will go to Gyrhndmom @ gmail .com. Taking out all the spaces, of course. Just don't want someone to think that's a real email, in case it is! :) That's exactly what I did today for DH.

Absolutely. Everything but the Half for Star Wars *basically* sold out today in under 20 minutes, for DVC and AP registration. But there will still be tons of spots open when normal registration opens in a couple weeks. DVC/AP reg is a "get on immediately" thing. I actually clicked the DVC reg link this morning at 8:59 pacific time (b/c it opens at noon Eastern) and got in, and by the time I finished the 3 of us at 12:16 everything but the Half was "on hold" and later it sold out.

(I bet all those doing dry runs for Princess caused a few of the "on holds" that then opened back up LOL)

So, I went through the dry run process for SWHM this morning just to get a feel for how it works. Going down through the list of questions there is an option to purchase merchandise. I am sure that I am going to want to preorder some items for PHM, but I don't want to slow down the checkout process since I am trying to register for more than one race.

Will I be able to go back in an preorder merchandise after I do the registrations?

That has been an option in the past! :)

They are making it entirely too easy to order additional merchandise:

When you click on it this is where go:

I just need to vent! Just got home from the Dr and I'm in a boot for 4-8 weeks with a stress fracture in my foot. Ugh! I have been doing so much to get in shape lately and was really going to step it up a notch this month. Heading to WDW in 6 weeks. And slowly getting ready for the 5K in Feb. (My first 5K in years due to knee issues.) I know there are other things I can do and I know it could be a lot worse. Just a little frustrated and knew you all would understand!

Oh wow. I'm glad you posted this. I had no idea they would ask you all that at registration! So I guess you have to be ready to pay for all of that then too.

You can skip it at registration and buy it later if you would like.

I'm glad to be of help.

And I love that gmail reserves all the "dot" variations of email addresses. So if mine were "bumbershoot @ gmail" they would have reserved b.umbershoot, bu.mbershoot, bum.bershoot" etc etc. Now THAT is probably an email address, given the big Seattle festival over Labor Day that I snagged the username from, but it's not mine! :)

If you know the options ahead of time, it shouldn't slow it down to click off what you want. I got pins for each of us for Star Wars and it was just a matter of clicking a box (and leaving the option at 1) and continuing on. I'm reading each part as I go, so I can click and read at the same time, then re-check I clicked correctly at the almost-end, then continue on.

OH drat! Try to take it easy, get lots of rest for that foot, even on your upcoming WDW trip. Arnica can be great to take to promote healing. (it's an herb, but is often taken as a homeopathic preparation, and believe what you will, homeopathy even works in animals and infants, so there's something to it! :))

Howdy everyone! Joining in on the fun, and crossing my fingers that my sisters-in-law and I get registered for the PHM!! There were 4 of us, but we're down to 3 since one of us got pregnant and she's due in mid-January. We've all been running races together since early this year, and did our first 10K with 12/minute miles. Also booked AoA for the 6 of us (includes our hubbies to come and cheer us on) just in case. Although, my DH is pretty upset he can't run with us...maybe I'll sign him up the 5K as a surprise :)

Getting really anxious about the registration process tho, and I see I'm not the only one! I'm a DVC member so can register early (fingers crossed)...so is there a link via the DVC website or do I go in through runDisney? Plus, I'm guessing that I won't be able to register anyone else in my party since they're not DVCers, correct?

So happy I found this thread!!!

There will be a link on the DVC website. It usually goes live a couple of minutes before noon. Once you're logged in go to "member experiences" then "special offers". Then select "early entry to runDisney events" -- when it's live, a link will be available from that page.
