Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

I would either email or call rundisney. I will say that from my experience though, neither is very easy. I have had the best luck with email. I had called and emailed regarding PoT since a lot of people reported issues with other races and messed up corrals. They did email me back with info to contact who handles that. But with the marathon week in about two weeks who knows what the chances of getting a hold of someone will be.
Thanks, I'll do that. Hopefully I can at least get an email answered for who to get in touch with.

I think we have discussed every article of clothing but socks. What are your favorite running socks?

I love my Balegas but I wonder if I'm missing out on something else. I love the colors of the no show socks but I need to wear the ones that cover my ankle because I have a tendency to kick myself and draw blood. Plus dirt and rocks get into the other style.

I wear Asics socks I picked up at Fit2Run when the store in Naples had a grand opening special and they were in the goodie bag. Discovered I loved them and purchased some more!

anyone heard anything on the costume thing?? Working in good faith on my DS's "Charming" jacket/shirt, but wondering if it's a futile effort.

I love my Darn Tough socks! I also have to have ones that cover my ankle. I've never drawn blood, but I do tend to kick myself in the ankle.

I just wear "normal" white ankle workout socks. I've never had any issues so I stick with those!

I need to get my training back in action, heading to Old Navy today to get a few more sport bras and tanks. Maybe its me, but sometimes having new workout clothes can be motivational?

Yup new workout clothes definitely help motivate me!

Definitely helps me! I wore my Minnie "costume" today on my run. Then I went to Panera and Walmart and got all sorts of stares and I wasn't even wearing my tiara at that point! I was really surprised when I got stares from the Walmart employees considering I was probably the most dressed person in the store!

I need to start working on my costume...!! Its more of a running outfit / Disney bounding. I'd be surprised if they stopped letting us do that for the races.

Hi all,

My mom, sister, and I have signed up for the PHM and it is all of our first 1/2! We've been steadily training, but the more I read about some people's pace and time, I'm getting super nervous about being swept! More so for my sister than me-- I did 9 miles yesterday at an average of around 13:40. My sister (and Mom, who's keeping a slower pace to encourage sister) did 7 miles at around a 15:30 pace. Am I worried for nothing? Or should I be more concerned than I am? Be honest!

Either way, we are all super excited.

Official pace is 16 minute miles, so you are all fine! Just keep moving forward. If you are stopping for pictures, keep an eye on the length of the lines and remember that the 16 minutes includes all bathroom and picture stops. Have a great race!

From what I've read, you shouldn't have a problem as long as you don't stop for too many photos. You've got 6 weeks of training left ahead of you yet, so bound to improve on times before then too :goodvibes

I won't wear anything but Balegas, so I wouldn't know if we're missing anything!

I think you're doing great! If you want to stop for a lot of characters, that could be tricky, depending on what corral you're in. You still have time to get a little bit of a cushion in your pace though.

Love my Injini!

I love my Feetures! I have a wider forefoot and a narrow heel. The Feetures stay on my feet the best. Some of the other brands slip off my heels when I walk/run.
