Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

I figured it was probably Disneyland. It would be really weird if they had started approving vendors for Dark Side and hadn't approved them for Princess yet.
Although, really, what's taking so long for them to get approved for Princess? I noticed that they're not going to be at marathon weekend either. I wonder if Disney is trying to phase them out or something (I hope not!)

Where can you see which vendors have applied or is it just common knowledge?

I think Sparkle Skirts doesn't usually do Marathon Weekend as the cost is super high for that weekend.

Sparkle Skirts lists on their website which events they will be at (and which events their application is still pending).

Although I still think it's weird that their application is still pending 2 months before the event.

I think I read somewhere that they were not at marathon weekend last year either and instead had an open house at their facility.

They usually aren't there for Marathon Weekend. Too expensive for them...they have an open house at their headquarters instead.

Week #4 of my training did my long run this morning. The sun was out here very crisp morning beautiful way to spend Christmas morning. Got my 12 km done and my reward Starbucks after my run. Struggling through with a cold but got it done! Hope it ends soon. Merry Christmas !

A little more info on what you want to achieve...
There is a no sew style with tulle or very easy to sew something simple.
May not get back to help out until after the weekend.

I bought one on sale at Academy that was and under armor. I made my other one. I made a tutu and a simple circle skirt to go over. What are you wanting to achieve?

I'm wanting to attempt to make a similar style skirt as the SwingStyle from Sparkle Skirts, not a tulle. I don't wear skirts when I run typically, this is just for my half costume. I'm leaning toward Ariel's blue town dress outfit:

I used sarin to make a very simple circle skirt and added two pick ups in the front for decoration. You tube has some great videos on how to make this type of skirt. Do you see?

Haha, they are real- I took that pic right after I completed my first 5k, which was a color run! I tagged Nike in my IG post of them saying they needed to make a version that looks like that, but nothing yet haha!
And I wish I could take credit for that quote, but I saw it on a work-out tank on Pinterest!

I've been struggling with lower back pain & motivation issues lately. Well, decided that I need to suck it up & get back to the training plan. Did 8 miles this morning! Longest I've ever run! Need to keep my motivation up!

I'm running as Kiss the Girl Ariel again this year. Did the 10K as her last year and will do the half as her this year. She's my favorite. I wore a skirt I purchased on Etsy, maybe running couture, this year I am wearing a sparkle skirt.

Am I the only one who's super anxious for a medal reveal? I know last year they revealed the medals on 11/27 and this year it's a month later and still no Proncess medals. I love Star Wars but feel a little peeved they released Dark Side medals first, although I know they did it to sell the race. Just show me the bling already Disney!

Nope I have been overly anxious for about two weeks. Think my husband is about ready to deck me!!! Lol!!

I wonder if the fact the approval has not come yet is due to the costume issue. Has anyone heard anything regarding this issue, will be able to wear costumes or not for the PHM Weekend?

I got very good news on Christmas day that my niece is pregnant and due in June. She's registered for the half with my daughter and I and had definitely decided not to go. She's not worried about deferring and just chalking the expense of registration to a healthy baby. On the other hand, my daughter bought her and I entry into the race retreat for Christmas and purchased it before anyone knew she was pregnant. Can anyone give me any ideas as to who to contact about possibly transferring my niece's race retreat to my daughter's boyfriend as a Platinum chear squad? I just feel like I got in touch with the right party, we might have a chance to transfer. Thanks in advance to all!

I would either email or call rundisney. I will say that from my experience though, neither is very easy. I have had the best luck with email. I had called and emailed regarding PoT since a lot of people reported issues with other races and messed up corrals. They did email me back with info to contact who handles that. But with the marathon week in about two weeks who knows what the chances of getting a hold of someone will be.
