"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

How many thing can one realistically do at a sold out party? We are trying to prioritize our list a bit but I'm not sure how much we can do. Is seeing the dwarves, jafar, aladdin, parade, castle show, lotso, fireworks, and tick or treating reasonable if we stay to close?

With a sold out party? I'd vote for unrealistic. You'd have to be near the front of the Dwarfs line, then book it to Adventureland for Jafar/Aladdin. The parade, castle show and fireworks all kinda run together. If you can move after any of that, getting to Tomorrowland for Lotso, you might make it and then to trick or treat, you just have to hit places on the run.

It's not impossible but with those things listed, you'd have to be on a commando schedule to do it.

ETA: The line for the Dwarfs will be the key. If you're in the middle of the line and waiting, time is ticking on everything else. It's not unheard of that people start lining up around 5-530 for them and Jack & Sally, they're that in demand.

OK--weird question. Do people in attendance not wear costumes? We're flying down in less than a week, and I'm not getting any costume ideas. If I come up with something, great, but if not, I don't want to stress!

There's no requirement to dress up. There are plenty of guests that do not go in costume.

You buy a new Disney Vera Bradley tote or duffle to haul them home in, silly. ;)
I bring my Vera Large Duffle all folded up in our luggage so I can fill it on the return trip :) We are only checking ONE bag going but are allowed 2 each coming back ;)

Mickeys not so scary Halloween party 2015 review!

Hey everyone and welcome to my short review! First off, the party was not sold out and I am only using th photo pass screen grabs becusse my camera is at home!

Ok so we entered the park at 4 o clock pm and it was already quite the experience... The not so secret is out and everyone comes In at four so with that and the day guests it's quite packed for awhile...

So we got to select three fast passes in that time period and I made the most use and got space mountain, Peter pans flight and haunted mansion!

We also got to ride: small world, pholarmagic, the little mermaid, buzz light year ranger spin, Prince charmings carosuel(hey never did it), monsters inc laugh floor *we were called out!* so we definilty got our rides in!

Ok party time!

See I took most photos with the characters last year so I didn't need to stand in line this year except for Ms Deville I stood in line at 630 was out of line at 710 not too bad and got some good interaction with her!

Candy was plentiful and large handfuls galore! It was an amazing experience and let's talk about the stage shows!

The hocus pocus show was absoeulty amazing it was so well done and the characters were absouelty incredible I'm telling you it was amazing! I saw it twice it was so good!

The fireworks are absolutely breath taking....my god how good was it was absoeulty breath taking in telling you it's a must do

Parade is the same parade but hey it is what it is!

Again it was the best experience I've had in awhile the crowds were plentiful, and the entertainment was amazing. I'm begging you if you haven't done it to do it. Put the negativity on these boards aside...you will have a great time!

I did think about this......we can both wear our Cardinal's or Blues jerseys and just come as St Louis fans :)
I was going to cut up a free jersey I had but my sister stole it. It's simple and light weight. I actually saw an entire family wearing sport team jerseys.

the first arty was a sell out!! They made an announcement at 6:32. I was at city hall chilling waiting for friends to get there. The line out the door quickly turned sad when the announcement was made. People were sad as they were turned away.

Got in line for Lotso at 6:45, done by 7:05, met buzz only 2 people in his line. Then we went To see pooh and gang finally got thru about 7:45. We were there last group before the next group would start at 8:15. We then tried minnie with donald and daisy but it was over an hour according to the CM and so was Cruella she said 90 minutes as it was backed up all the way near the entrance to the silly side show. Jack and Sally was a goof 2 1/2 hours.

Their party was crowded. Rides were mostly walk on but characters had lines.

Wondering how late quick service food is staying open on party nights? I saw a lost saying some close at 9:00 but are the others staying open until midnight? Later?

Also- how many Main Street shops are staying open past midnight?

I think it has something more to do with not having everything sell out at the first couple parties. Remember, there's more than just the normal crowds going after the merchandise. The fun re-sale sites have their crews out in full force "buying the limits" of what you can get, thus depleting the stock even more for party guests. So, as I said, this might be a way for Disney to stagger what they bring in to offer everyone. Sure, it's not fair to the people that have been and gone, but it's not fair to guests coming at the end of October that didn't have a chance at getting stuff from the first party either.

I'm not talking about stuff selling out, I mean things like the pumpkin waffles and the poison apple steins that are just supposed to be here 'at some point in October!' I have no problem with them selling merchandise in limited qualities each night so there are plenty left for the later parties, but why haven't some things actually arrived yet? I would hope people on the resale sites wouldn't be hoarding and reselling all the waffles!

You'd be surprised what they put on the resale sites.

Other than that, I don't know. I know someone else was hoping to get the waffles and I told them that another post showed the waffles are supposed to be at the Oct 5 party.... so who knows...

Shops were open I believe until 12 as well as the food everything seemed open and active.

Mandy (since you offered), and those of you who have been if you want to chime in.... what would you do exactly the same and what do you wish you had done differently? Thanks!

On a sold out night I've seen the lines start 4:00 when they start letting party guests in for the Dwarves, J&S, and the 1st parade.

Got a call from a disney rep about our complaints from the first party. He said guest services have been swamped with calls and emails from guests from the first party. He mentioned they haven't received this much feedback for entire party seasons from the last few years combined.

He admitted that disney messed up with clearing the parks.

He also said an overwhelming theme from everyone's complaints was the lack of events and characters exclusive to the party.

Another interesting point: he said they'd been planning on doing the villains dance party in Tomorrowland but the venue ended up being too troublesome with fire codes and stuff. Not sure what venue he was talking about? Maybe they were going to put it in cosmic rays?

Someone else is going to call back to discuss further.

I really hope this does make a difference in next year's party with all the exclusive party offerings.

What email did you send your complaint to? I attended as well as was extremely disappointed.

If you get in the dwarves line as early as possible and aim to hit the 2nd parade it might be doable. If you leave trick or treating to the end of the night (after the 2nd parade) then you will hopefully get most of it done. If you don't mind watching the fireworks from one of the bridges rather than say the hub that will give you a bit of a head start on the crowds

So it's 7.30 now and I've ridden Splash (10 mins wait), BTMRR (5), HM (10 mins), IASW (walk on), LM (walk on) and hit 3 ToT which were walk throughs at a leisurely pace. J&S seems to be shut already. Definitely less people around than the previous 2 nights and with it less CMs checking bands but I think that's because there were less people in the park to start with. Just about to hit tomorrowland and the hub so I'll update when I'm through the other side
