"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

For those who have attended MNSSHP with only a party ticket, what was the earliest time that you were let into the park? What was the time when you done getting your wristband and started walking into the Magic Kingdom? What are the chances of people in costumes being able to go in earlier (say, 3:45 or 3:50)?

4pm. They let us thru the scanners and banded us right on the other side. We had to stand outside the gates and wait until 4.

There were a few reports of people being let in around 3:45 last year, but both of our 2014 parties were right at 4:00.

Are you talking about during the party or during the day on a party night?

During the party itself, I think the lines will be pretty average (i.e., 45-75 minutes). If you go on a party day but don't have a party ticket, getting into line around 6:30 will probably be a good strategy. FP+s end at 6:30 on party nights, and the CMs are motivated to get non-party guests out of the park before the party starts, so non-party guests are essentially given priority and are ushered past party guests during that last half hour. If you're a party guest, though, you'll be asked to queue up in the party line. My recommendation (and what I intend to do since A&E was also sold out for our entire trip at the 60 day mark) is to get in line for A&E close to park close on the day of a party when you don't actually have party tickets. I know I witnessed people last year doing this with pretty much zero wait, so I hope the strategy still works.
I have party tickets but I like both strategies, thanks for the advice :D

Im going solo to two parties. I also have question about trick or treat bags. If u fill your bag up can u go back for another?

Woo hoo. What time can we start picking this cutie up? As soon as we enter park or after 7pm? Can we pick it up at either locations (firestation and near the Christmas Shoppe)?

I have a FP+ for Anna & Elsa at 3:10 - 4:10. Meeting Elsa on party day is a must for me but 4:10 does not leave much wiggle room. What do you all think? Should I keep it? Swap it for something else with a more reasonable time and see Elsa later?

Keep it. There is usually a 15 minute grace window on FP+.

I picked it up last year near the Christmas Shoppe. As close to 4 as we could.

Someone asked earlier about adrs and costumes, I've gone to all my party adrs in full costume and it did make it more fun, most times my seatings were around 4:30pm.

You can pick it up as soon as you enter, but in your case, I would wait until after Elsa for sure. And I assume either location, but we got ours at the fire station.

ok, thanks! so the average waits for the rides are .... ? I ask because my 4 year old told me he doesn't want to see any characters, he just wants to RIDE! :) Although, I'd like to meet Maleficent and some of the other villains, but I won't push it, we'll just try to grab any characters we come across.

Also, we are from New Orleans, so the concept of a parade without something being thrown may be lost on my kid. Is the parade REALLY that big of a deal? or could we skip it ?

Obviously it depends on the ride. Most rides will be walk-ons or close to it. We've ridden POTC alone during parties before. Peter Pan typically maintains a short (20 minutes or so) wait, and 7DMT will have moderate to long waits for most of the night. We waited 45 minutes to ride 7DMT late in a party last year.

ok i have concerns after rereading some post about party merch probably not being available on my party date oct27th

i really want a party magic band i love how last years changed the color on the scanner (will they do that this year just curious) i was wanting one before i found that out today but when i did the need became more intense

I don't know about the Magic Bands. However last year I was able to buy the special merchandise on the last party.

in 2012- I went for a SOTMK card at 11:30 and was told they were out of them.
