"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

smitch425's post above has me curious....which attractions are typically NOT open during the parties? Is there a list somewhere?

The two parties are the only two Disney days we're doing, and we haven't been to MK since 2009......so we want to try and cram as much in as we can. It sure would be great to say we rode every ride in the park over the course of the two nights. We plan to arrive at 4:00 pm both days, so we'll need to know which attractions to hit before the party starts so we don't miss 'em.

I still have two weeks until my FP+ selections, and my bf has no clue what he wants to do during the party. He likes rides...and will follow me wherever. I like characters, but I can't drag him like I did last time....he almost passed out in the morning of our MK day because I was going character crazy.

I have a few specifics I want to do, but I haven't decided if I want to go for any Party specific people just yet. I hate losing time waiting in line. Thinking Jack, but I've met him before and Sandy Claws might be better to meet. I need to meet Aurora, but I'm hoping to do that in the 4-7 timeframe.

I need to make a trip to the hardware store. Gotta get that shield and sword started! :scared: I started painting the first few coats on my tiara, but I need gesso to stiffen the foam.

I think it's just CoP, HoP and JC.

oh awesome ty! Yea I wasn't so worried about my hair. How much was required to get it all off? Trying to figure out how much i need.

He was in 12 shows and that bottle was $31 so I tried to make it stretch by getting off as much as possible with baby oil, abolene cream and/or shaving cream. The prosthetics guy for the show joked that I should try sand paper next.

But cotton balls and a third of the bottle did a great job on his face, neck, and hands the night after the last show.

@smitch425 You have me so torn but I am going on Halloween and I know its sold out and it sold out early. I have been to sold out MVMCP's before but this is the Halloween Party ON HALLOWEEN. I have the premium package for it right now but I have navigated last years sold out party got 7dwarfs, all the princesses, Sandy Klaws, Scrooge and Donald, Minnie, Santa Goofy, Peter Pan and Wendy.....granted when I got to Sandy Klaws it was 11:00 and I practically threw water at my DD she stood up we snapped the pic and headed back LOL....so why am I so nervous about missing something???? We saw the second parade and had a great view of the Holiday Wishes.....why am I thinking if I do not have the prm pack. I am gonna miss something???????ARGHHHHHHHHHHH ohh btw I think DD has picked her costume..its a version of snow white there is a tutu and tights involved is all I know as of now

Lol! Sorry to have you on the fence about it! A Halloween sell out is no different than any other sell out. If you planned on doing the second parade, it really comes down to snacks versus short lines. Pick the one that's right for you! Go with your gut! :goodvibes

Just to posit a question (after lengthy context...sorry!):

Assuming check in for the special parade viewing is 8:15-ish..you get about an hour or so to mingle with the regular party guests, trick or treat, whatever (those are "normal" line times). That's no different either way.

At 8:15, the non dessert party guest who is doing the second parade starts to see reduced lines for attractions, while a good portion of the party guests are staking out spots. They ride/m&g during that roughly 90 min, til they have to go stake out their OWN spot for fireworks. When those are over, they have about 30 min-ish (I can't remember the new rumored parade times for this year...11:00??) to do experiences and get over to their preferred spot to watch the parade. They then have about 40 min to do other attractions/rides before the party ends at midnight. Is that about right?

For the dessert party guest, at 8:15, they take their spot to watch the first parade, move over to the dessert party and watch the fireworks (I think we'll have close to an hour between "herding" and fireworks..so it's plausible you could leave and come back, if guests want....though then you lose "grazing" time). They then have roughly 90 min to ride attractions, do m&g's, etc...while the 2nd parade is going on.

So, here's the question: Since, on past party nights, it seems the park starts clearing out, a LOT, after the fireworks...wouldn't that mean that the lines are shorter during the 2nd parade, too?

Hi everyone! We are attending our first MNSSHP on its opening night Sept 15. Can anyone give us an idea of how they attack the party? I don't imagine we will be doing a lot of rides, more taking in the atmosphere. Are there large line ups to meet characters?

Yes - the characters have the longest lines. Peter Pan, 7D, and Haunted Mansion tend to have long lines too. We've never had to wait much for trick or treating - and always get a TON of candy!

Another Canadian who booked a quick solo trip (booked yesterday) for Disney as well - I am only taking in MNSSHP this time around as I will be back at Disney in November for 2 weeks :)

Since the parade is later do you all think it would still be possible to see the second parade and then go get in line immediately for the 7 dwarves and be OK?

Well I guess big bottle it is :) ty again for the info!

You could definitely do that, but it'll almost definitely still be a relatively long wait, regardless of when you meet them.

Yes, the lines will be shorter the longer the night goes on, but why we always pick the second parade is due to the crowding at the first. We can walk up and have a front row to the parade 20 minutes before the second parade starts. If we do the first parade, that's not possible. Plus, we like to get our high priority characters (for us that's the 7Ds and Flynn Rider, who I know didn't appear at MNSSHP last year, but we did meet him at MVMCP) over earlier in the night because it's hard to know when they're going to cut the line for them. I'd rather do the "gravy" characters at the end of the night when there is a more of a chance of missing them.

I'm not worried about the wait, just about getting cut off. ;)

With the late timing of the parade this year, I'd be really, really nervous about not getting in to meet them using this strategy. If you watch in Frontierland on the "right" side of the street, the parade will still take at least 20 minutes to get by you, so that would put you done at 11:35. Then you have to wade your way through humanity to Fantasyland...say 15 for that. There is no way the line for the 7Ds won't be cut by then.
