"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Question: what gets cancelled if it rains? Do they cancel the parade, the stage show and the M&G that are outside?

I think it was 2013, when we went they ended up cancelling every single stage show, even after the rain stopped because the stage was still damp after using dryers on it. Last year they stopped the show in progress because a light rain began. The second party we went to we decided to skip the first parade, and go to the second, usually the second one has a smaller crowd. Bad decision. It wasn't raining, but apparently there was lightening within so many miles, so the second parade was cancelled completely.

Afternoon!

Question: We arrive in Orlando on 10/31/15 and are stying on I-Drive for 8 nights before heading to CBR for 10 nights. We have tickets for the party on 11/01 (November 1st), but I'm starting to worry that I may have got things a bit confused! We will not be visiting any Disney park until 11/08 when our stay at CBR begins, except for the night of MNSSHP. Obviously, I do not want my 10 day park-hopper ticket to start until the 11/08. Will my hard ticket print out for MNSSHP gain me entry without affecting my 10 day ticket? I know that I can gain entry to the park from 4pm with the party ticket alone, I'm just concerned with the cross over with my 10 day ticket.

Also, I would like to get Photopass and want it to start on the night of MNSSHP to get some cool pictures. How would this work? Last year we had our Photopass linked to our Magic Band, but we technically won't have our Magic Bands for this trip until after the party when we check into CBR (we're in the UK). Can we use the bands from last year to link to Photopass, or can we link cards to the Photopass? Am I making sense?

The more I think about it the more I worry that things will get a bit messy! Aside from that I am super excited to be doing MNSSHP for the first time. We have done three MVMCP over the last two Christmases and they have been fab. Need to start thinking about and working on costumes....

Need some costume advice! I have this dress at home View attachment 97256
If I add a red wig, do you guys think it's similar enough to Ariel's pink ballgown for people to make the connection?

I think it is pretty close, get a red wig that is styled like her hair or that you can style, maybe carry a flounder toy? Or a bag? The sleeves are the big element missing but I think it can work!

Welshraz,

Your MNSSHP ticket will not affect your other park ticket in any way. Regarding photopass, you can just get a new card from a photog. I had purchased a MM in advance one year and forgot my card at home one day. The photog gave me a new card and I just had to enter the number from both cards on my account online. You should be able to get a MM card from any photog and just add it to your account.

Zulily has some great costumes on sale, mostly for kids and mostly girls, from chasing fireflies today!

Does anyone have ideas for making my daighter's Hermione costume more fit for Florida? We will be there on Halloween. I am thinking of making the sweater, shirt and tie kind of like a dickie under a closed lightweight robe? Of course she wants the entire first year costume but will compromise. I want to make this or find it at the beginning of the summer and get it out of the way.

Any other suggestions? She also has to wear it the day before for the outside parade in NY. So something we can layer. If anyone has a good one to buy from a store let me know too I don't want the super shiny kind.

Thanks for the response, it is much appreciated.

I've seen tops that are very light weight and then have the fake undershirt built into the upper portion, maybe a top like that and light slacks under the robe. The robe may be what gets to hot in florida. That way she still has a working costume under it if she needs to take the robe off.

Good point! I will bring a shirt and shorts wiht me in case they want to change, so far my son wants to be a pikmin which is from a video game I play he is obsessed wiht the characters! It's basically solid blue shortsm shirt and a wierd hat,

Already bought our tickets for 10/31. This will be our 2nd party since 2005 so looking forward to all the new features.
In details that came in mail with our tickets it says adult costumes are not allowed. We had planned to all dress up as a family. Is this a suggestion

Nowhere in the letter does it say that adults cannot wear costumes. It says that children are encouraged to attend in costumes, but that is likely because they don't want your child to feel left out since most kids will be in costume. :)

The letter says children are encouraged to attend in costume, but it doesn't say anything about adults. Tons of adults were in costumes when we went last year. Hope this helps.:)

My oldest DD wants to be Wendy for the party. Has anyone seen anything that would work for a dress?

I'm new and not sure how to search, so I apologize if this has been covered. What is the best way to see and/or get a chance to interact with the Villians at MNSSHP? I read that it has changed over the years.

Just bought my ticket for Halloween night! Now to come up with a ride-friendly costume, even though I would love nothing more than to flounce around in a big poofy princess gown....seriously!! princess:
