"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Don't take what I said as total fact its a huge park and it seems i missed them. Kenny the Pirate tends to put up guides as it gets closer to party and he has last years up and they were there. Says pooh takes lots of breaks that may be why i never saw them and Alice/mad hatter/queen of hearts was there as well.

We dressed up as Alice characters a few years ago- so we also wanted to meet a her at the party. She was meeting at her usual spot by the tea cups.

For our trip, we have a choice of either the first Party (Sept 15) of the year or the second (Sept 18), which falls on a Friday. We would prefer to hit the less crowded one (if there is such a thing). Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

i finally finished reading through all 33 pages of this board- this is awesome. thank you so much for all this information! i had no idea this party even existed until i started planning this trip- there was much squealing with excitement.

we plan on going in the middle of our trip, on september 22nd. currently we plan on hitting epcot in the morning, then heading back to the lodge for midday naps/pool, and then getting gussied up and heading out around 4 or 5 and staying the whole time.

the things that are important to us are:
1. seeing the parades and fireworks
2. dance parties (even just for a little bit)
3. ambiance/stores/fun food
4. getting two character photos: pooh and crew; alice in wonderland (we are dressing up as a steampunk alice and the white rabbit)
5. haunted mansion

how do i make this all fit into one night? is there a best time to catch these characters since we will be there on the later side as well? is there anything we are missing that can only happen in wdw and only at mnsshp?

We met WtP and gang at the end of the party with barely any wait. This photo was taken around 11:50pm, and we waited maybe 15 minutes...

Pooh and friends doesn't come out until 7:30. Either get in line at about 7 or sometime after 11. Not sure on Alice, but I can't imagine that would be a long line. You should have no problem getting your list done. If it matters to you, the 2nd parade will be less crowded. We won't know the final list of characters until very close to the first party.

Sorry if this has been asked already and/or isn't known yet, but which day(s) are the AP discount ones? We're trying to pick our date and would prefer to avoid that.

If you could wear ANY costume..not limited by suitcase space, ride practicality or comfort....what character would you or you and your family want to dress as???

google may have lead me astray- i found some photos of folks with her and the hatter and the queen of hearts- but it sounds like they change things up year to year as well. do they give a complete list of charecters out that night?

I know Alice and Hatter typically rotate in her normal spot near the tea cups. And Queen of Hearts has been spotted sporadically. But with what happened with the villains last year, I'm not sure where she ended up.

I have a BOG ressie at 4pm on our party night. Realistically, what time can we expect to be finished? I'm trying to make a touring plan and schedule for FPs. We will be in the park already during the day, and plan to arrive early so we can be seated as soon as it opens. There are three adults and two toddlers, will skip appetizers but order dessert.

Fridays are generally more crowded due to locals.

This will be our first party year, so planning our touring has been a challenge for me since I have no idea what to expect. I've been looking over the line up for previous years tell me what you think (any and all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated):

We have a 2 PM ADR at Kona, gonna monorail it to MK from there.

Set up our FP+ between 4-6 PM.

We want to catch the first parade then the castle show, then fireworks (I think that was the order, don't have my notes next to me). So I figure we will grab a spot near the hub about 6?

After all that I'm a little lost. I know everyone recommends the second parade, but we are morning people so I'm concerned that we will be too tired by the second parade to really enjoy it.

What say you friends?

From everything I've read on this board in about a month of planning adding MNSSHP to our trip, Friday's (as the pp said) will be busier due to locals. I would go with the 15th of September. My wife and I extended our vacation by a day to actually add in this experience. I'm expecting a slightly larger crowd on Tuesday since it's the first party than an average Tuesday, but I would still expect that it will be less busy than the Friday night party, which is the one most likely to attract locals from my understanding.

I have never tried for pooh or alice in wonderland (didnt realize she was even in mk thought she was epcot for some reason), but i've done all the other stuff, sans dance party simply cause i didn't wish to go so just watched from outside, fine in one night.

Because she is. ;)

This year hubby is going as Russell and I'm going as Kevin. They're light weight and easy to pack. This is always how we choose our costumes. I tend to have to make them because we live in Pennsylvania so all the costumes we could buy up here would be WAY TOO HOT to wear down there.

that was our first choice too, i thought doing kevin would be so much fun! and then i said something to a costume designer, and thirty minutes later we ended up going with custom designed steampunk alice in wonderland costumes- but at least southwest wont charge me for the luggage :P

Just ordered my DD2's Cheshire Cat dress with ears!! DH is going to be the Johnny Depp version of Mad Hatter, DS4 is going to be the White Rabbit, and I am going to be Alice!! So excited for our family's first ever MNSSHP on Oct 15th! Happy planning everyone :teeth: :ccat:

Hello. I'm a new poster, although I've been to DisneyWorld about 10 times in the past. But never to the Halloween party. I've searched the forum before becoming a member, but cannot find or overlooked the answer.

Can we buy tickets for the Halloween party only? Or must we buy at least a one-day ticket also? We'll be in Orlando for a few days in late September, but won't be able to go to the parks during the day. But we'll be free on one of the party nights. If we need to buy day tickets, it's not a problem. We'll just save them for our next visit. Thank you in advance.

The Halloween party ticket gets you in to Magic Kingdom starting at 4pm. As long as you're not planning to be at the Magic Kingdom before 4pm, the party ticket is all you will need.
