"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Ok, I finally had time to sit and read through everything here. What a wealth of info! Great job guys. So, now I have some questions:

-For anyone that has done the MHP at DL, how does this compare? I went in 2012 and had a blast.
-Is the ToT'ing bag they give you good or should we bring our own?
-What rides are NOT open during the party?
-What do you suggest doing between 4 and 7? Rides? Non-party characters?
-What kind of line can I expect for PIGLET? He's not out at DL so i've never met him, and he's my favorite and i'm so excited he's there OMG! lol

This will be our first time at WDW, and the party is the only thing we're doing. I'm thinking our priorities would be characters, then shows (parade and fireworks), then rides. We'd be getting there right at 4 with the intention of staying till midnight. I know you can't do EVERYTHING but could we get a good chunk done?

This thread is wonderful! Such a great resource for my first MNSSHP. We are attending on October 20th, and are beyond excited. My BF is a stick in the mud when it comes to costumes - will he be totally out of place if he does not dress up?

If you want to meet Piglet (and not "costume" Piglet), you could get an ADR at Crystal Palace between 4 and 7 (we got 4:45). Costume Pooh/Piglet/Tigger/Eeyore meet once the party starts. They didn't come out until 7:30 last year, but the line was decently long right after 7. I am not sure what time we actually met them, but it was in the first set (7:30-8:00).

Some people will disagree, but I thought the candy bags you get are fine.

I can't say what you should do (don't know your priorities), but special characters are a big time drain. Since we did a couple last year, we are going to skip most of them this time, especially since we are eating at Crystal Palace.

I haven't been to the one at DL so I am not sure about that.

The ToT is a plastic bag like the ones they use at the shop but with a halloween theme on it of course, a little smaller and with sturdier handles.

I don't remember rides being closed...

Piglet was wandering around by Pooh's ride with another character and no line back in 2013 towards the end of the night but I am not sure if that was normal.

Speaking of character lines...
Do the lines for characters tend to die down at all while the party progresses? Second parade/11 o'clock ish?

You can find Piglet and his gang next to the WtP ride. We got in line around 11:35 or so and waited about 15 minutes last year, and that was on a sold out night...image.jpg

That's a pretty good picture for 11:35. Our party of 6 was down to just DD8 and I by then last year. Everyone else was done after the 2nd parade.

My kids required very little sleep. We were up at 6am that morning for DD's 8am BBB appt. We went to bed that night around 2:30am, after washing her hair. Lol

I have a question. I'm getting a ticket for the party for my friend who lives down in FL and isn't traveling with us. Am I correct that I can add her to MDE as a guest and then assign the ticket to her and that should be good?

These are the current costume rules.

Costume Details (Permitted at Walt Disney World Resort Only):Costumes should be child-friendly and adhere to any guidelines determined by Disney.Costumes should not be obstructive, offensive or violent; drag on the ground; contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest; contain any weapons or objects which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.Masks may be worn, but they must not obstruct vision, and eyes must be visible at all times. Guests who dress like Disney characters may not pose for pictures or sign autographs.Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused admission.

So...by Disney characters, do they mean the traditional mainstream ones? I'm possibly thinking about doing a Final Fantasy character who happens to be in the Kingdom Hearts games (Square Enix and Disney collaboration). I doubt people would ask for pictures but I want to be sure just in case. Also, good to know being asking pictures of any other Kingdom Hearts cosplayers.

You will be fine. They just do not want other guests thinking you work for Disney. Photos with other guests are fine, as long as it is clear to everyone that you are not a CM. Definitely no autographs, though.

Yea I was sitting in the middle of a store shopping on Halloween and was followed by someone wanting a picture (we had a bit of a language gap so I was unsure what she wanted at first), the CM's didnt seem to care she was following me around so I just let her take a picture and nothing happened.

And which character are you doing I'm a fan of the games and there is quite a few FF characters in it!

I'm thinking of doing Yuffie Kisaragi. I, um, hope the weather won't get too cold by then. I live in the northeast so I'm used to winter and stuff but I'm not someone who usually wears shorts.

Awesome costume choice I've seen some amazing cosplays of that. It's hard to know what the weather will be, but you can always use a pair of skin tone tights or leggings under the shorts if its really cold. I pretty much make my costume then cater cheap additions towards dealing with possible weather issues.

That's a good idea. Thanks. I'll be doing MNSSHP the day we arrive after a bit of jetlag rest at the resort. I have to convince my boyfriend to dress up as well. He has NEVER gone trick-or-treating in his life because he moved from a very different country.

were debating october 25th-31st is our trip date really wanna go to a party how soon should we buy our tickets for the MNSSHP?

I believe I know the answer to this but can't find it on the search. Are you able to get fastpasses with your MNSSHP ticket? We will have no other tickets tied to the DME account.

Yes, you can make FPs from 4pm-7pm.

My wife and I will be attending our first MNSSHP on Sept 15 as long as she can add this one day to her vacation (hopefully it won't be an issue). My question is, if we buy tickets, do they link automatically to the Magic Band (I've read conflicting info about this) or should we bring the hard tickets just in case? We have a 4-Day Park Hopper ticket purchased from UT and I plan on bridging them to full price and adding an extra day once we arrive to the MK on the 11th because we are thinking for $10.65 per person, why not add an extra day. I've read if you have a ticket on the band, it can mess up the party ticket because MDE doesn't allow two forms of entry. I want to make sure we'll be okay to hop over to MK from Epcot around 2 or 3PM that day.
