"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

You have to have a party ticket, not just a regular ticket. You can get in at 4 with just the party ticket, so maybe she had it backwards - if you had a 4 day pass and a party ticket, you could do 5 days in the parks, with the party day being 4-12 in the park.

Probably a stupid question, but....Someone told me you could a use a regular gate ticket to get entrance to the MNSSCHP. I told them they were crazy that you had to buy an actual ticket for the event. but she was sure that you could use your regular passes. For example, if we were going for 5 days but had 6 days in the parks then one of the days could be used for the party. Please tell me who is correct.
She is wrong. You need to buy an event ticket

Does anyone know if there are Halloween themed popcorn buckets available during the party? We're going Sept. 15th.

I also have a question relating to popcorn buckets in general, not just Halloween-themed ones. Are they available for sell until closing time? I don't want to drag one along with me all day or on the rides. Could I just buy it at night before exiting the park? Or do they only sell them during the day?

You can have your purchases sent to the front of the park for pick up when you leave, or you can have them sent to your resort, although you have to be at least 2 days away from your departure date because purchases won't get back to your resort (you pick them up at the gift shop) until the next day.

Cool! I've read about that but since these buckets have popcorn in them, I thought they'd be considered "dirty" and I'd have to carry them myself. So I can take out the popcorn and have them sent to the gate/resort? Thanks!

Have you done this? I wasn't aware popcorn carts had the ability to do this. Never heard of that. Lol

We're planning to go to our first party this year - I'm already excited!
There are five of us, celebrating our middles' 5th birthday :).

I wasn't planning to buy tickets so early, but I see that many people have already purchased...so I guess I'd better decide which night we want! We have two (or really three) choices.

We arrive to DW on the afternoon of September 22 (party night), we have Friday, September 25 or Sunday, September 27. I've been reading a few sites that suggest that weekend parties tend to be busy, but I also figured that a Friday night party would be even busier. I wasn't considering the night we arrive...but maybe that's a good idea :)

Any thoughts on what would be a better night to attend?

As well, do most people take the day off from the parks on party nights? Or, if we do go to a park, is it better to go to MK and spend the entire day, or another park, and just go to MK when the party starts?

Thank you for any advice!

Sunday! You'll be too rushed on arrival day, and Friday should be a sellout.

No, but I wasn't thinking about the fact that popcorn buckets are only sold at popcorn carts. I wonder if you could take it into a store and ask them to do it there.

Friday night parties are what is meant by weekend parties. Sunday nights aren't weekend nights. (Yes, I know that Sunday is part of the weekend, but the reason that Friday parties are busier is because locals don't have to get up early for work or school the next day. That's not the case on Sunday nights.)

I think its all based on the cm, I bought 2 large marvel encyclopedias and the store wouldnt send them to hotel when I was in DTD, the christmas store saw me struggling and offered as long as i had my reciept to send them to hotel, but told me that it wasn't common practice for a store to do that for a product bought in a different store.

The carts close before closing. So don't wait too close to closing.

For MNSSHP you have to have a separate ticket to be there past 7pm. At 7pm the CMs come through and you have to hold up your wristband. Anyone without the separate ticket they will nicely escort out. I have an annual pass and had to by a separate ticket.

I'm having a bit of an internal tug of war in my head and need your help!

We (DH, DD 12, DS 10 and I) are arriving in Orlando most likely late Sat. Oct. 3. (not sure where we will be staying but will be off-site). I plan on checking into to an onsite hotel at Universal for two nights (Sunday and Monday) for two days at Universal and one day for pool/resort/relax. While we are in Orlando we want to go to the MNSSHP but I have great conflict as to which night to go.

A - Do I make Sunday the relax/resort pool day and then go the party Sunday night, but then try to get everyone up in time for early entry at US?
B - Do I check in early on Sunday and do US for two days (Sun & Mon) and then have pool day and go to the party on Tuesday night?
C - Do I check in on Sunday relax, go to the US parks on Mon & Tues and go to the party on Thursday night?

We aren't big on the photo ops - we're basically going mostly for rides and the parade. It will be our only Disney visit this trip and we aren't big on crowds. We were spoiled the last time we went as we basically could walk onto most rides throughout the night! It was awesome. As the Thursday would be right before a long weekend (US & CA) I am worried it will be busy. Previous posts mention Tuesday as a good choice, but then I am rushed to check in at 7 am on Sunday after two days of driving from Toronto.

What would you pick? Does anyone have any other suggestions? We are leaving on Oct 10.

Thanks in advance. I've been debating this for sometime and I need your opinions! :flower3:

Just bought our tickets today. We are going Friday Oct 23rd. I am so excited.

When first going through the ordering process I was looking for tickets with the annual pass discount and it said all the parties for the entire 10 days we will be there were sold out. I nearly cried. Then, on a whim, I checked for full price tickets and suddenly they were all available. I didn't know they only sell a certain number of annual pass discounted tickets per party.

Is that what happened or should I call central reservations tomorrow?

Although my trip is 10 days, my bf and her dd will only be with us for 3. We are from CA and go to DL every year or two. This will be their first trip to WDW. They don't have park hoppers but we have tickets for the Friday Sept 18 MNSSHP. We plan to go to DHS the first part of the day prior to the party. Since the we have access to MK as of 4:00, I'm wondering if we should use our FP+ for MK or go ahead and use them for DHS. Basically, do the ride lines have a short wait time during the party? Since it's their only time at MK I'm sure they will want to ride rides with a solid party experience (character meet and greets won't be high priority).

We always do rope drop at DHS on our party day, and we use our FPs there. You can get a lot done at DHS in just a few hours there. You can enter MK at 4:00 and get additional FPs from 4-7, but they really are not needed. Ride lines should be minimal even though it is a Friday.
