"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Confused now after talking to a Disney Rep. Can we or can we not with a PAP go to MK the day of the party with also a party ticket?! I was calling in about a reservation and inquired about the evening. Evidently they will need to 'empty' the park? Can anyone who has been to this or has knowledge tell me if we can in fact go to MK and stay for the party in the same day and how this works? TY :)

You can. They will kick you out if you don't have a party ticket but you will not have to leave the park. You'll have to go to one of the stations to get a party wristband, but those will be marked closer to the start of the parties on the map.

TY So much.. I could not imagine what I was hearing but also did not want to change my plans.

I too would love to see them try to 'empty the park' when there is a three hour overlap between regular park goers leave and the time the party guests can enter... ;)

I have been waiting for years to go to MNSSHP, so excited that we finally are on Oct. 13th! DD Steampunk Alice in Wonderland theme, DH Dapper Halloween , myself Dapper Witch. Counting the days!

I just booked a quick trip to Disney for Sept 12-16 and was wondering if it would be odd for a single female adult to go to the Halloween party (Sept 15) and possibly dress up - or will I look like a weird person that preys on children :)

Gee I hope not, because I will be there solo! (Only somewhat dressed up though)

Hello fellow MNSSHP goers,
We are going October 4th and our 7 year old son has decided to be Indiana Jones as he is now obsessed with the ride in DL and the movies. We have a great costume, hat and accessories including a sweet reproduction leather holster and a nice toy gun. He would like to bring a toy guy in his holster, but we don't want to have to take it back to the room if it is banned. I know they sell the guns in DL, but didn't know how accommodating they would be at the MK with our Jr. Indy. The gun is clearly orange-caped and a toy, but it is not a brightly colored toy gun. Thanks in advance if you've had experience with this type of situation. I've read the policy on the website, but want to find out how that policy is interpreted at the security checkpoint.

id leave the gun in the room to be honest, one not sure if it would be allowed, two might get lost in the park if it does get allowed in

Why isn't this thread stickied I'm sure it would cut down on the 50 questions about the Halloween party we have daily.

I'm going September 18th I'll see you all there

I had two handguns on me last year, with no problems. They sell toy guns in the park. As long as the tip of the gun is orange, you are good to go!

Im going Sept 22 and 23. Very excited. Going solo and to MNSSHP for the first time. I arrive Sept 22 and eating lunch at T-Rex 2pm. I have 7 day park hopper for all 7 days. So if I go to MK before 4pm or after I should be fine with my park hopper and party ticket? Ty for your help

smitch, since you are the resident expert here.....do you think they would allow a plastic sword? (my husband is dressing as a pirate)

I had originally assumed that would be a no-go, but after reading your post, I'm wondering if it might be okay?

Absolutely! They sell them in the PotC shop, and use them for Pirate's League. The only thing you need to make sure of is that it isn't sticking out on him in such a way that it could injure another guest. :)

Well.....I am about to make his day then! :goodvibes

:thanks:

There was at least one year where they did exactly that. But they don't any more, which is probably telling on how well it went for them. LOL Only plus is there definitely were not any non ticket holding guests in the park that year.

My son was going to go as Peter pan shadow, my younger son will be Peter pan. Would a morpho suit be ok in the part. Are they breatable and light enough for Sept?

FH and I will be there for our honeymoon. Going October 13th. Do you think bride and groom Mickey ears are costume-y enough? If not, I was thinking about Ariel and Eric disneybounding it.

I saw the swords are ok, what about a plastic pitchfork? Sis is going as Lock and we thought a little pitch fork would be cute, but idk if it's allowed.

Last year they had CMs coming through right around 7pm and you had to hold up your wrist bands as the came through. There was a couple near us who did't have their bands and the CMs told them they would be happy to escort them to get a band. We were there all day with a normal park ticket then at 4pm we went and grabbed our bands.

They have a rule about faces being covered up, i know some morpho suits can do that so as long as the face isn't covered I'd think it be fine.
