"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

I'm confused as to the times for the parades and Hallowishes....

typically the parades are at 8:15 & 10:30p, and Hallowishes are at 9:30p...

But I noticed when tweaking my touring plan (at the touringplans.com site) they list the parades at 8:35 & 11:15p and Hallowishes at 10pm???? For my 2 and 5 year olds, that is really pushing it. Anyone know if the site is just messed up, or if they have inside info that the times are in fact changing this year? They weren't always listed at those times; it must have been a fairly recent change.

Times have changed, just noticed as well....

I'm okay with the later fireworks but the 11:15 parade ensures the earlier one will be even more packed. Plus it eats into prime attraction time towards the end of the night.

Hmmmmmm, the time change makes me wonder if they are planning an up-charge event with two seatings again, each coinciding with the parade times, with premium seating for both parades. This would decrease crowd capacity by several hundred people at each parade. This would make sense to me, but, then again I don't work for Disney, and a lot of their decisions don't make sense....but I digress.

My money is on an event that, (rather than the Soiree in CRT like last year), they have a dessert party on the Tomorrowland Terrace just like every night, with differently themed dessert options and no villains.

Although this is strictly a CM's thought/rumor, I thought I would share.

Last year was the first time I attended MNSSHP. I really enjoyed it, am planning to attend again this year and have been following this thread. This week I called the recreation reservations number to ask if anything special was planned. The CM With whom I spoke said although they have not been told anything other than there wouldn't be a soirée, he personally felt for some reason they were in the process of finding a larger area to hold something since he said the castle only held 200 people at a time and they wanted to accommodate more. Again, this is strictly his thoughts ( I believe) but thought I would add to the thread anyway since I find all of the speculation interesting.

Got my tickets today for MNSSHP on Nov 1! I was going to wait to purchase them, but after 10/31 sold out I decided I better jump on it. It's always a good day when you get Mickey Mail!

I'm kind of annoyed about the time changes. The parade being 20 minutes later isn't a huge deal, although the second parade is now so late it's too late for almost all kids, meaning the first one will be busier. There's no way my 2-year old will make the fireworks now either.

Sorry if this has been asked... I read on a blog that There's going to be an Aurora and Maleficent meet and greet and a Snow White and evil queen meet and greet this year. Anyone else read this?

Oh no. I agree- not thrilled with the time changes at all.

It was supposed to happen last year until they decided last minute to make those villains exclusive to the Soiree. I haven't heard anything about it this year.

Thank you! Now I'm kind of hoping villains soirée doesn't happen. My daughter and I are going as Maleficent, our favorite Disney villain. It would be really nice to meet her without having to spend a ton of money or not spend the $$$ and be disappointed we don't get to meet her!

I'm kind of nervous about which characters will be at this year's party. Personally, the characters at the Halloween and Christmas parties are a big part of what makes the parties special.

I hope all the villains will be available for everyone to meet this year.

Me too. I think villains soirée is a nice idea, but I feel like the villains are a big part of the Halloween party and all attendees should be able to meet them- especially classics like Maleficent and the Evil Queen.

I feel like all of these details - the parade and fireworks times, the characters available for meeting, any upcharge events like the soirée- should be set in stone and announced PRIOR to tickets going on sale. I'm irritated that we aren't really getting our money's worth due to the time changes. The fireworks are a huge deal to us and 9:30 was barely early enough for us to make it that long. The first parade is our only option and my 2 year old is NOT okay with camping out for 30 minutes just to ensure a spot. So will we even get to see it now that it will be way more crowded due to the time changes? Who knows. It's disappointing because I feel like it was a bait and switch. The times have always been set in years past and this year they switch it after people have already purchased tickets and made plans. Ugh, get it together, Disney!!

I'd rather pay, and be guaranteed the ability to meet them. We were cut off in line for Maleficent two years in a row.

Another DISer posted that they were told there would not be a villain's soiree this year, but a different special event with a reserved viewing of the first parade and it would be announced in a week or two. The time changes are probably because of this event.

I agree. The people organizing these things MUST know ahead of time what is going on, why can't they just release the details when they release the tickets? The times must make a huge difference to families with small children. My son is pretty good at sitting still (if he has something to occupy him) so I think we will be able to camp out for the first parade, but we'll have to skip the fireworks. They must also know if they are adding a special event within the party, why not just tell everyone now so people can make plans?

My biggest annoyance with Disney these days is them asking you to plan your vacation down to the last detail months in advance, when they can't seem to do the same with details on their end.
