"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

We're going this Friday. Any chance you could tell me where in the Emporium the party merchandise was? Any help getting through the chaos would be greatly appreciated!

It was in the shop to the right of the main Emporium. The shirts were along the back wall.

That makes me mad (about people not having tickets to MNSSHP). We saved for this and it's unfair that people can just "stay" and enjoy the party without paying. What's the point then of buying these expensive tickets
Agreed. I wonder if enough people complain would Disney do a better job? On here everyone reports they did a good job in the past.

Oh my gosh completely agree that makes me so angry that people were allowed to stay! I have been saving up for these extra party tickets with all my spare change & garage sale money and for people being there without paying. I'm going next week and really hope it's straightened out by then.

I wasn't impressed with how crowded it was the other night. I've been to a couple of MVMCP but this was my first MNSSHP. Definitely to crowded. Anyone have the contact info for best person to complain/voice my opinion too

Tuesday was our first MNSSHP so I have no prior experience to compare it to but it was more crowded and more difficult to get things done than I expected.

I knew certain characters would require a long wait to meet but it seemed like every character had a pretty long line. I was also shocked by the backup for the trick or treat stations. I was very surprised by the number of childless adults that spent their party time standing in line to get candy.

We arrived at the party around 6:15 or so. We rode BTMRR with a FP and then Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion. We finished those up around 7pm. We then went to see the 7 dwarves (there were actually only 6 when we saw then- Sleepy was missing) and Jack. The lines were very long at that point as expected but we just wanted to see them so we did not wait in line to meet them. We then rode the Ariel ride, hit a trick or treat line or two and then around 8pm got a 2nd row spot in an crowded Liberty Square for the 8:35 parade. The parade was great. After the parade we considered seeing a character or two but lines were still too long. We then hit another trick or treat line or two and rode BTMRR again - our 1st time riding it in the dark.

We then went to the end of Main St. where there was a decent amount of room and watched the fireworks. After the fireworks we moved closer to the castle and saw the Hocus Pocus show. After that (around 11pm) we left.

The parade, fireworks, and Hocus Pocus show were awesome. We spent about 2.5 of our 4 hours at the party either waiting for or watching those events. In the other 1.5 hours we could have hit a couple of characters but my kids preferred to go on a ride or two and get a little candy.

I sent an email by clicking on the link under contact us on the WDW website. If anyone has a better contact please post. Hopefully the hoarding of merchandise and the non paying attendees issues will be addressed sooner rather than later. The other years I attended CM's were very good about checking for propr credentials.

It's a howling wolf. They play the sound effect outside the Haunted Mansion queue.

Did a little research on the band and it's not exclusive to HM however it is special and random
This was response I got:

"That would NOT be correct. The design of the ''surprise and delight'' feature is that it does NOT work all the time, and when it does, it is a ''surprise'' that will ''delight'' you. It could work in the Haunted Mansion one day, and the next time you go to ride it, it just gives you a green ring like any other band. Sometimes when you enter the parks, it will perform the different colored rings, sometimes it won't. I have been on test track, entering the quick que, and had it happen and the cast member wonder what happened to my band. ROFL. We have also expected it to happen when we entered the parks only to be let down that it didn't. It is a RANDOM feature and each touch point in the parks can make it happen. The pay touch points however, do not."

This is a HUGE problem.

Honestly, why bother buying a party ticket then, if you have a multi-day ticket with sufficent days. I paid for the dessert party, but don't have my MNSSHP tickets yet, maybe I just won't buy one and save $140, if no one is checking.

They will check your wrist band when you check in at will call for the dessert party, FYI. Or at least so we've been told (I'll ask over in the thread on that subject to see if it was actually done).

No, I meant the howl is a sound clip taken from the HM's exterior queue. Sorry for the confusion. Full sound bite:

Ohh I'm sorry for the confusion lol I'm caught up now! But it was nice to learn that it's random when it activates I wonder if last years was that way

When is the next party? I'm interested in reading to see whether it's any less hectic.

In prior years, at and a little before 7 pm, we would see CMs encouraging those without party tickets to leave. We heard numerous announcements that the park was closing for day guests without party tickets. Last night, I only heard one announcement. It indicated the party was a sell out. While there were CMs on the street asking people leaving to stay to the right, I saw none of them encouraging non-party guests to leave.

While sitting for all that time, only once did I see one CM ask people to show their wristbands. Sadly, after the parade, I noticed a lot of people wandering the park without wristbands. I'm sure they couldn't get on rides, but they could watch the shows. Not sure why there was such a lack of policing bands this year.
e.

She found a spot for the parade in Frontierland at 8pm, and was sat between two families, both of which told her they didn't have party tickets and had just stayed to watch the parade and fireworks. She said no one came by to see wristbands. They stayed for the fireworks, and when they left, they waited over an hour for a monorail back to their car. So I don't think they'll be repeat customers! Apparently all of her kids and her husband begged her not to go back again.

So it does sound like not checking wristbands really could have impacted the crowds last night. I wonder if Disney realizes this, and will crack down on it for the future parties.

I'm very disappointed by the reports of lax enforcement of party wristbands. I will contact Disney through the website. They need to enforce this like in the past.

EDIT - Just sent a message. If we don't voice our concerns, they may not allocate the necessary resources to ensure only party guests are in afte 7 pm.

They checked maybe twice at the castle forecourt but after that nothing. The pin shop also didn't seem to be checking when you got merch I don't believe.
