Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

Apparently RunDisney has no evidence that I ever submitted proof of time, which placed me with Dumbo bib number 25k+ in the last corral. That's pretty mind boggling, especially being legacy with 9 straight years of Corral A. I've e-mailed and gotten the standard "tough cookies" reply, e-mailed again with a truckload of supporting data including confirmations and links so we'll see what happens... I also added on a Wine and Dine inquiry since I'm wondering if that one got screwed up as well now with that deadline also being passed... :sad2:

A nifty feature would be using last year's time as the default rather than a blank time, since many runners are veterans from last year anyway. Not gonna lie, if it doesn't get worked out officially I'll try again at the expo and then have to resort to other methods. :rolleyes1 It's just unsafe to be overtaking at such a high speed through the first few miles of the course, especially with the increased park time this year, and would detract from the fun for myself and everyone around me unnecessarily.

@thndrmatt what?! So you submitted your time, it showed you your estimated finish time < 2:00...and now you're in Corral G? That is messed up!!

There was a big (500 people) group order through a SparkleSkirts Facebook group that had been in the works for months and was ready to order a couple of weeks ago...that's how SparkleSkirts found the fabric. :)

Thanks Ariel484...I think! Just joined the group and can I just say that I appreciate the heads up! My bank account however is screaming at me!!

Sort of run related, sort of WISH related.... What are you favorite healthy-ish counter service eats at Disneyland? Any recommendations for sandwiches and salads? I looked at a few menus and everything seems to come with fries or coleslaw. Can't a person get a carrot stick? I'd rather save my calories for a churro than a side of fries :)

I think this is one of the reasons I like DLR more than WDW right now - there are so many great, healthyish counter service options! Some of my faves:

Disneyland:
Bengal Barbecue - Beef Skewer (they also have chicken and veggie ones)
Jolly Holiday - Turkey Sandwich, Jolly Holiday Salad
I didn't end up eating there, but the River Belle Terrace had some AWESOME looking entree salads
Tomorrowland Terrace has a yummy grilled chicken sandwich with salsa too!

California Adventure:
Paradise Garden Grill - if you like mediterranean stuff, they have more skewers and salads
Fairfax Market is a little stall that has whole fruit, veggies, hummus, etc., if you're looking for a quick snack.
I know it's not the absolute healthiest thing, but I thought the meat and cheese plates at Sonoma Terrace were awesome.

Also, most places will let you swap fries for fruit or even a side salad if available. But I really liked the kettle chips offered at most places with a sandwich.

On my "bucket list" for dining for this trip:
ALL the Dole Whips. Seriously. Every one until no more are left.
Lobster Roll at Harbour Galley
BLT Flatbread Pizza at Village Haus

I searched and could not find that group. Ah ... maybe it's better ...

For what it's worth @thndrmatt, on another message board I saw somebody who is also usually an A corral -- got an age group award last year -- and who was misplaced this time after apparently fat fingering his time entry. I think he called and had some e-mails with supporting documentation, and he got it sorted out after a few days; think he just has to take the documentation with him and get a sticker at the expo. Hopefully you're able to get something similar worked out!

Sorry to hear that, Matt...and on the 10th anniversary race, too! Hopefully they'll get that sorted out...

How annoying! Hope you can get it sorted. RunDisney really should have something in place to be able to fix things like this when it was their stuff up. And I agree, using your previous RunDisney result as a default POT would be a great idea!

I also love Bengal BBQ. Also in DL, we enjoyed the sandwiches at Hungry Bear. I know it's still fries, but the sweet potato fries there are amazing! Riverbelle Terrace has turkey dinners which were pretty good too.

At DCA, we love the ribs at Flo's and mini churros from the Cozy Cone, but that's not helpful for you looking for healthy options lol! Paradise Garden Grill is supposed to be good.

FWIW, the counter service meals are big enough that Mum and I just got one between us for most meals on our last trip.

Not healthy but you only live once....

Corn dogs at Corn Dog Castle at DCA or at Little Red Wagon at DL.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I never thought to ask for a fruit instead of fries, duh!

I am not even tempted by your hotdogs. I don't eat pork so, even smothered in chili and cheese they do not appeal.

But i WILL be having a Dole Whip. And at least one churro. And ice cream :D

I think there should be a law against calling anything not made from 100% beef a "hot dog"...I'm sorry, but I'm from Chicago and only 100% beef (Vienna Beef, boiled, on a steamed poppy seed bun) is allowed. This is travesty if any pork make into a casing and masquerades as a hot dog.

The DL corn dogs though ... are pretty much laced with crack or something. They are truly amazing. Maybe just eat the breading? LOL. I'm sure that's where the crack is. HAHA.
