Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

So, I don't know if my cooking has been extremely amazing lately or DH has realized how much I love rundisney events, but he has agreed to the Anniversary Party! Woot woot! :yay: It may have been me talking up the rides that will be open with exclusive access... Indiana Jones marathon was on tv today (we are iced in) so talking about the Indy ride as well as Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain (two of his absolute favs) might have helped. Here's hoping to finding a cheap flight to weigh out the cost difference!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had six inches of beautiful, fat, fluffy snow today that melted away into a pretty 50-degree sunny day. Hoping the same for you!

Ran my first 10-miler today ... all I'll say is that MaxFreeze is my best friend right now ...

Way to go Keels. Hope that it went well and that you pat yourself on the back for completing your first 10 miler.

Well done! 10 Miles is a great accomplishment!

I'm scheduled for at least a 10k tomorrow, but this is how most of my neighborhood course looks. People are not being good about clearing their sidewalks. I might have to see if I can find a track that's been cleared. I've never run on a track, at least not since high school. It could be interesting.

Thanks, y'all. It was a rough one, but that's was mostly my fault - between ice and snow and me being sick for the better part of this week, my training had really been put on hold. I needed a good, long run before next weekend's half, so I went for 10. The weather was beautiful - sunny and 58, so it was nice just being outside!

@croach - MaxFreeze is like BioFreeze. It's an organic aloe/arnica topical solution to use on muscle and joint pain. I was able to find that a lot easier than BioFreeze, so I've been using it. I love it after a long run!

So, I'm not running this one this year (had to save up for W&D), but if I'm not working I hope nobody minds if I try to stop off at one of the meet-ups.

Wow so much going on here! Once again, the DisBoards notifications have let me down :sad2: It's not all DisBoard's fault though - we did just get back from our trip to the US yesterday, and I didn't really keep up with the boards over there.

Thanks for all the supportive messages about my 10k. It turns out they were able to find my official time (it had been posted under the wrong race). It was 1:13:00! So stoked, AND now I can use it as my official proof of time if I want to :thumbsup2 Australian races are so serious. Only 16 people came in after me, and the worst time was 1:25:00.

Keels and SgtTibbs, glad to hear that nothing came of your little injury scares. Keels, you had me particularly worried for a minute there!

Anniversary Party - I'm pretty devastated that I have to miss out since we'll be getting up at the crack of dawn on Friday for the 5k. However, my wallet is thanking me. Plus I'm consoling myself with the fact that I got to go to the AP Party for Indy's 20th anniversary. Was just a bummer I had to go on my own since DH doesn't have an AP.

Dole Whips - I'm in the 'don't get it' camp I'm afraid. It wasn't bad, but to me it was just soft-serve. I love pineapple though and I'm thinking maybe it's just not a strong enough pineapple flavour for me.

And finally, congrats Keels on your first 10 miler! You are absolutely smashing your training!

Happy (belated) Anniversary, Zanzibar!! I missed you and hope y'all had a great trip!!!

Oh, and bring on the DisMeets! :thumbsup2

I very much understand, I would not do the Anniversary Party if I was running the next morning either. However if you are in the park on Thursday, please do stop by the "Tiki Room" Meet before you head off to bed, I assure you Dole Whip's are optional.

Sounds good :thumbsup2 I may even be tempted to give the old Dole Whip another try lol!
