Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

I'm in for the 5k and DDD too! Now onto forcing my dad to make a decision on the 1/2 so I can do that all over again in 2 weeks. :faint: He always says I'll think about it, no that's okay I'll pass and then a few weeks after reg opens, okay I'll do it. No dad, it doesn't work that way. :rotfl:

I would recommend getting there on the Wednesday if you can swing it. I got there on Tuesday last year, and the crowds were pretty good Tuesday, Wednesday and even into Thursday. We noticed a HUGE increase in numbers Thursday afternoon/evening and Friday.

Yeah, my plan would be to fly in Wednesday evening. Get the hotel all checked in and then plan to hit the parks Thursday. Obviously, I'd love to see park hours before I make any decisions!

Hi Kim :wave2:
How are you doing ????

Hi Vicki!!! :wave2: good, how've you been? Knee and ankle tendons doing okay?

Good too. Knee is OK and rolling and stretching has really helped with tendon issues. Following the training program for Pixie Dust Challenge on the dreadmill. So far so good.

I ran my first 1/2 marathon at WDW a few weeks ago, and was motivated to go for the coast-to-coast medal this year. I was pumped to do the DDD, but despite my best efforts to sign on at noon, there were issues with the site and I couldn't log on before it sold out :( I wasn't sure how quickly the rest of it would fill-up, so I signed up just for the half, but wasn't sure if I could try my luck with everyone else in two weeks for the DDD. Does anyone know if it's possible to change the registration? These races are crazy to get into!

I registered for DDD and 5K. This will be my first trip to Disneyland, though I have been to Disney World about 30 times. (DH ran the first Marathon in 1994 and is Perfectly Goofy and Dopey. I am a beginner, just starting my running program after retirement!) I couldn't get the link up until 12:03 even with constant refreshing, so by the time I was on the registration page I was in such a frenzy that I misspelled my first name. Left one letter slap out!!! I didn't realize it until I got my confirmations!!! I have already emailed runDisney to see if it can be corrected. Maybe this one should be under "Duh" moments! LOL :)

I think it's pretty unlikely, but worth a shot - I would email them ASAP if you want to transfer. My guess (IF they allow you to transfer) is that they will only allow it as long as there are still open Dumbo spots. And they will charge a fee plus the additional registration amount. Good luck!

I would like to get the platinum Chear package for my husband and my daughter. Do those packages tend to sell out quickly? I have to be in a meeting February 10th for an hour right when the registration starts (UGH!). Do I have a chance or should I ask him to wake up and do the registration?

Blew the DVC early reg, never even saw an e-mail on the subject. What was the discount?

Well, only 1 of our group of 4 was able to get into the DDD yesterday.

I'm up in the air on if I should go ahead and purchase through one of the travel providers (already confirmed availability) or roll the dice and try to get the rest of us in on Feb 10.

Thoughts/advice?

If it's important to you, I would do it. But it also depends if the travel provider is making you buy the whole package (I had to buy my bib, two-day ticket, pin and a "special event" ticket all together to get my registration yesterday), and if you're OK with that cost. I'll probably end up skipping the Pasta Party unless they end up doing something awesome for the anniversary. But it was worth that added cost to guarantee I got in.

I believe we're pretty much thinking along the same line. We're coming from FL so we'll need tix anyway. Not to mentioned we'd be pretty ticked if we couldn't get in on the 10th.

Coming from Australia registered for. 10K and 5K - very exciting

Yay! Another Aussie :cheer2: We did the 5k and 10k last year and had an absolute blast :thumbsup2

Are you going anywhere else in the US while you're over there?

I don't think the cheer packages sold out quickly last year. They were one of the last things to sell if I remember correctly. I think you'll be ok if you just register your husband and daughter when you've finished with your meeting.

As part of your planning, don't forget that Disney typically makes a yearly price increase on park tickets sometime around May. Be sure you have purchased your park passes before then to save a few bucks.

I made it in for the Dumbo! And immediately went out for a two mile walk to calm down and officially start training! Dumbo here I come!

Congrats. Still waiting for regular registration to decide if I'm gonna do it.
Got any good suggestions for cheapo airfare from DC area? We typically fly out of Dulles but can go Reagan, BWI and Richmond if necessary.

Yeah, I wanted to avoid the stress of the 10th if I could. Now, I still have to register my husband for the half that day, but registering one person that's not me is much less stressful. :rotfl:
