You have to run it! How often do you get to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a race with a big park celebration like what's going on for the 60th? Everything is going to be bigger and better. Plus you get the C2C medal! Outside of the race, parkwise, Labor Day weekend is less crowded than MLK(SW weekend) so you can experience more w/o as much crowds.Wow.....barely 24 hours to go before registration opens. Still on the fence about whether this is the year to do it and get our Coast to Coast medals too.
Wife and I took the kids to WDW in January for Marathon weekend but they wouldn't be able to come to DL in the fall so that's mostly a bummer.
Labor Day weekend seems can be tough for cross country flights.
And obviously it will be warmer than WDW in January was.
The cost is always a downer and registration is stressful.
But outside of that, I can't think of any other real reasons not to try.
Probably won't be able to do a RunDisney event after this year until 2018 (hoping to do Star Wars (with kids) and Wine and Dine (without).
C'mon people...give me some motivation here!

You can do it Slogger! If you're just doing the half (as opposed to the DDD), registration shouldn't be that stressful.

Come on, @Slogger. All the cool kids are doing it.
Motivation: a 10th anniversary Disneyland Half Marathon medal + the Partners Coast-to-Coast medal. That is all.
Unfortunately I feel left out when other people get their cool challenge medals or race shirts. It's such an unsettling feeling (okay maybe I'm exaggerating) to have "bling" envy.
Is there a support group for this type of behavior?

Oh my god that's me when it comes to the rD races!I'd see all the shirts and people walking w/ the medals and get so jealous. But that being said, outside of the Dopey Challenge in the future and Tink, I think I'm dropping the 5k's. They're so expensive and then you add on the extra day of vacation and hotels costs... I'll just start wearing blinders.
I have this bookmarked:

Is that the right link? Good luck to everyone signing up tomorrow! I've got to get the husband registered for the half and I've got two other girlfriends registering as well ...
Thanks for the encouragement and good points to consider. Unfortunately I feel left out when other people get their cool challenge medals or race shirts. It's such an unsettling feeling (okay maybe I'm exaggerating) to have "bling" envy.

My wife told me there is no way she is willing to do three days of early morning races---no 5k for us. Of course if Disney suddenly created a Dumbo Triple Dare challenge with the 5k, that might be a different story. Some of you might already have created your own challenge.
I may have shared this story before but last year in Va Beach at the Shamrock, they have a 8k on Saturday and a half and full on Sunday. You get a challenge medal for running both days.
The half marathon course is the 2nd part of the full marathon course, both start lines are close together and they use the same exact finish line. Last year a gentleman started with the half marathoners at 7 am, finished, and then changed shirts and bibs and zipped a few blocks over to the marathon which started at 8:30 (he said he got there about 8:50). Finished the marathon and nice article in the paper about being the first person to do it.
This year they have an actual challenge and medal for those brave and quick enough to try it.
What would be a good name for all of the 5k, 10k, and half marathoners combo runners at DL?
I'm SO nervous for tomorrow! I have been hemming and hawing for months about whether I would sign up for Dumbo. I did Disneyland Half last year at minimum pace and the sun was SO hot I didn't think I wanted to ever do that race again. But my mother and I love Dumbo so much and I have always wanted the medal since I first heard of it and I knew if I didn't sign up I would regret it greatly. My mom finally told me to go ahead and sign up and she would pay for half as my birthday present this month. Super sweet of her. Now the hard part tomorrow morning!
Does anyone have the direct link?
