Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

So - originally, I had just bought a 4-day hopper from Get Travel for me ... didn't think I needed a fifth day because of Anniversary Party. But, I went ahead and upgraded it to a 5-day because, the way I see it ... It's only $16 for riding RSRs as many times as I can post-Expo and before the Anniversary Party.

I like the way you think. I did essentially the same thing so I can go right from packet pick-up to park. Just substitute "Matterhorn" for "RSR".

Text me and we can hang out or get lunch together!

I plan to do my typical "rent a locker in the Esplanade" to store all of my crap so I can move back and forth between parks quick like a shark!

Gonna look up park hours now and see if I can guarantee a showing of WoC on Thursday too ...

OMG! There is an Orange Leaf down the street from where I work, but I have never gone in there. After seeing your post, I told my hubby that i was "on a mission" and drove down there to see if they had it and OMG! It is real! I am in so much trouble...
Yes! Orange Leaf is the place by me too! The best part is getting the coconut and pineapple whip swirl to go and adding a pour of macadamia nut liquor on it at home ...

Not sure how busy the park will be that day, it's not uncommon for WoC fastpasses to run out early. You might want to consider one of the WoC meal plans to insure a pass. So your plan is to hop back to CA for WoC and then back to DL for the party?

I'm weighing my options for travel from LAX to the Disneyland hotel. I land around 11am and after a 5 hour flight, I'm disinclined to sit in a shuttle for another 2 hours stopping at every random stop but alas I'm also you know, cheap.

I arrive LAX at Noon on Thursday Sept 3rd. I'm renting a car if anyone needs a lift to Disneyland leaving LAX noon'ish I would be happy to oblige.

Reading the D23 updates about the new Star Wars land, very excited. I also saw that "Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue" will be closing permanently to make way for the expansion. I've never visited Big Thunder and this might be my last opportunity. So I made ressies for Sunday night (Cuz no way I'm doing all you can eat anything before a race). I have 5:40pm reservations if anyone would like to join in a little post race celebration. Wear your bling!

I land at 8 a.m. at SNA on Thursday, so I'm planning to go straight into the park for a WoC FP (and maybe a RSR ride?) then head over for opening of the Expo at 10. The only thing that will keep me from seeing WoC on Thursday right now is if it cuts in to when the private Paint the Night showing happens. I'm already planning to see WoC with the husband on Sunday (we're doing WoC dinner for all 10 in our traveling group that night). That opens up Friday for a viewing of Fantasmic! and/or the fireworks.

But, yeah ... kind of my plan. I want to make sure I get my wristband and the exclusive Anniversary Party pin and see Paint the Night without fighting 1 million people for a spot on Main Street. Riding Indy, Splash, Pirates and BTM as much as I can in the interim is a bonus.

I'm hoping because it's a midweek day on a school week that I can do RSR and ToT after the Expo before heading back to DL and hitting up most of Fantasyland. I went ahead and splurged for a reservation at Blue Bayou (gotta go water the money tree ...) for a 1:30 lunch and figure that might be a nice break.

My Thursday Expo trip will be quick - pick up my stuff and buy the official merch that my group arriving later than me wants. I will peruse the Expo on Friday morning more extensively after the 5K when M arrives.

Not sure how it'd be from LAX, but I took the Disneyland Resort Express to LAX after the race last year and it was inexpensive and pretty efficient. I think there were two quick hotel stops between DLR and LAX, so it only took about an hour to get there (late evening, no traffic). LAX is a little ways away from DLR, so you're pretty much going to be driving for about 45 minutes even without traffic.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post links here, but if you Google Disneyland Resort Express, the service is run by Southern California Gray Line and it'll be the first or one of the first links that comes up. You can buy tickets in advance online, and also see the bus schedule.

I booked SuperShuttle RT from LAX to Paradise Pier $32.

I should know this but I'm drawing a blank. Some of us are starting in coral D for the DDD to complete the coast to coast. Just to make sure no one falls Short, is the 16 min pace req based on your start time or the start time for the last coral. Since we're all from FL want to make sure we can get pics.

TIA

It's from the time the last person in the last corral starts (aka, when the dreaded balloon ladies start). So being in corral D will buy a little extra buffer time :)

DisneyStore online has 60th Anniversary Merch. I wanted to go ahead and get the Alex and Ani that I wanted and the Pandora charm. The charm was already sold out(just the particular one that I wanted...not any of the others...so is my life) by the time I got to work to order. I hope they have it at the parks. If you are looking for anything in particular, not sure if it's best to order now since they are making it available to everyone and not just in the parks.

These have been readily available in the parks, so I wouldn't worry too much.
