I registered using the DVC early registration and yes once you had the link it did not matter which name was put in, nor the number of times it was used. I believe the Disney visa was the same just a link to active.

Did they send you an email? Did you have to sign up for it? Dh has an ap and we have Disney visa. How can I find out what the link is?

I think Disney visa got an email, but from what I heard it was hit or miss.. DVC had a link from the member site.
I also heard that the link was all over the Internet and was found by anyone that googled it. I did not look so this info is more hearsay. Check the visa site and it may be there as well.
Good luck I am sure you will find and early registration link somewhere. :)

This is true. Anyone with the link was able to register. My understanding is that you will need to enter a passholder number this time around. For Visa early registration you enter the last 4 of your card number. You can also call in.

Hi, all! I'm super excited to have the Disney World Half Marathon be my first Half Marathon! I have been running for a about 5 months and I know I have plenty of time to train and be ready for the race come January. I need a good app to help me. What do you veteran runners suggest? I know I will have tons of questions between now and then, but right now, I'm too excited for all that!:thumbsup2

I use the MotoActv and love the device. Its basically a GPS and MP3 player. It is good at tracking your runs and records a good amount of data. You can set it up for intervals which is useful for training or if you want to do a run/walk strategy. I have never used a Garmin and think they are much more popular but I wanted something that had GPS and MP3 so I don't have to run with a bulky phone if I don't want to. The one thing that was horrible about it was when my first one broke Motorola's customer service was absolutely pathetic. That aside I love the device. I think for pure running data a Garmin will be much better. Also I just want to note that I run with people that use Garmins and as far as accuracy goes the devices are always very similar.

Good luck with whatever you choose and good luck in the in Disney. The training is the hard part. The race is fun.

Thank you! I have never even heard of this device. But I can Google with the best of them, so that's what I'll do. I also will check for a used device. Thanks a bunch!:thumbsup2

Does anyone know if I can use my dh's pass holder number? And will it matter if he has already switched it to the RFID type?

For the WDW January weekend those APs with the new pass couldn't register online bc they couldn't register the new Rfid pass number with the passholder landing page. Not sure how this pans out for princess registration. I was told to call when I switched to the new pass.

First time marathoner here - done several other WDW Half Marathons and for some reason decided last weekend that it would be cool to do the Original.....well, Disney original, why not! I mean I can get a room at AKL and don't care about my time as long as I don't get swept.

So that was last weekend, now I'm starting to freak out a little. I know I can do this, just need leg to get well (takes me being patient) so I can start training in June/July.

Couple of questions for this group - please let me know if this is in the wrong place and I'll move it!

1) I've decided to Go Galloway just to keep injuries down, would you recommend the beginner or experienced runner training. I've run a Half in 2:45 before, but honestly thinking Galloway might make me faster. Was going to go with experienced (finishing upright) but wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy.

2) It it nuts to mix in the ToT 10 Miler and another Half Marathon along the way, doesn't correlate 100%, but know I can make it work.

Thanks for any and all advice.

This will be my first marathon too! I am running ToT, a 10 miler on Oct 27, W&D and Space Coast Half! I'm using Hal Higdon's Novice 2 plan (I've always used Galloway for the halfs but didn't want to go up as high this time) and most of the races line up nicely (ToT I should be running 11 miles so only 1 off, for the 10miler on Oct I am supposed to run 14 but I will switch with the 9 miler the weekend before, for W&D half he actually has in to run a half, and for Space Coast its a 13 miler weekend....so pretty perfect)

Definitely not crazy, IMO - his beginner plans really, truly seem to be beginner, y'know?

Hope it's not nuts - I'm doing the same! ;) TOT, a local half on 10/27, WDW Half... and possibly another half in late Feb. :faint:

Shoot I lost the original quote... GPS apps: I'm partial to iSmoothRun synced with RunKeeper for my iPhone. :thumbsup2 I mostly like seeing the weather data; seeing that it was 97* with humidity at 99% always takes the edge off of seeing a slower-than-expected pace! :rotfl:

Which local late Oct half are you considering? I'm thinking of trying one to see if I can get out of the last corral for the WDW full (those'd be both my first half and my first full).

I'm considering the Frankenfooter in New Port Richey or the Halfathon at Fort DeSoto.

Figs! :wave2: Thinking of doing this one too?

Hi Pluto - no not this year. Maybe in 2015. I was trying to get a better understanding of registration for these high demand races because I'm trying very hard to get my act together so I can do Tink/Princess/Glass Slipper. The lure of 4 medals in one weekend is just toooooo tempting. We'll see if I can pull it off without getting hurt. :lmao:

:thumbsup2 That's my Oct. half, the Halloween Halfathon! I just did Florida Road Races' Police Appreciation 10K and, let me say, those folks put on a fiiiiine race. Really well organized, great swag, no overcrowding. I think the half in Ft. DeSoto will be a lot of fun, not to mention VERY fast!

That kinda sounds almost like what I'm doing,I'm doing ToT in early Oct.,I'm doing the Miami Beach Halloween Half marathon in late Oct.,the Disney full marathon in January and the ING Miami half marathon in early Feb.
