Official 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon

Maybe we can meet up and say :wave2: at the expo! I'm thinking I may try to find a spa or nail salon in the area and really make it a Diva-themed weekend...get my nails done on saturday to match whatever I decide to wear on race day or something relaxing like that, maybe book a post run massage. We were thinking about adding another day to stay sunday night as well and just drive into work from there monday morning.

We can meet up at the expo or maybe go have pasta dinner the night before together. But we won't be able to stay after the race. We will will have to head back to Dallas.

you never know...it's not even showing 50% yet!

BF registered for the half yesterday...once I told him it made it to 73% he jumped. Looks like that's where it's stalled out though. I'll probably go ahead and book air this week too...planned to use miles for this trip and looks like there are plenty of 25k total mileage reward flights on UA for the days I want to go, so may as well get that taken care of before I forget and they disappear. Crossing my fingers that some of the mileage flights for PHM in February will come down...I wanted to use miles for that too, but those are sitting at 50k miles now...no thanks! The last year or so, deals from Houston to MCO are just non-existent...whether miles or $$...it's gotten crazy!

I'm trying out a new hydration belt soon...I won an ifitness belt through a blog giveaway recently and just ordered the hydration bottles to go on it, so I'm excited to try it out. I've been a loyal fan of Amphipod since I started running, but that ifitness belt is awfully comfy...but that was just trying it on around the house...still need to road-test it.

Glad your BF registered!
I love my ifitness belt...but its also the only one I've actually put hydration bottles on. The only other belt I've used is just a SPI belt for personal items.
Now that I have a new cell phone (Galaxy) it doesn't fit in my ifitness belt so I guess for Tink it will be back tp the SPI belt for me so I can have my phone on me.

I just sighed up for the half.

I am also signed up for the TOT 10 mile in October, the Wine and Dine in November and the Princess half in February. I am crazy and I have never run a half before. My longest run so far has been 5.5 miles as I am working up to the half. See you guys around.

10K is at 51% now...how long do you think until it sells out? My friend wont know until this weekend if she can do it or not :(

I can't find it in the thread, but I thought someone posted a link to hotels near the start/finish?

Or can someone let me know what hotels are best near the start/finish? It looks like the best western might already be sold out!

Thanks!

I think it'll be another week before it sells out completely. Seems like runDisney may have alienated a large portion of runners by not offering a challenge, and by announcing the 10k so late.

:yay::yay::yay:

Good news on my front: I have been intending to bring my DH and DD (will be 4 in Oct) to Tink weekend, but feeling a little conflicted. I really enjoyed my time to myself last January. I had a conversation with my DH and we agreed that, since we are planning a family DLR trip in early December, he and DD will stay home. So now I get 4 WHOLE DAYS AT DLR BY MYSELF!!!!!:banana::banana:

Now I have to decide if I'm going to fork over the money for an AP during our December trip... :confused3

It is the Best Western (Stovall's). I had 3 rooms and had to cancel 1 last night. Great rates.

I also have a room at BW Stovalls that I might be cancelling. I wont know til next week. I'll post here if/when I cancel it.

I signed up for the half. Super nervous because I've only run 5Ks before. But with six months to prepare, I think it will be okay :).

Anyone know where to buy those super cute Tinkerbell running outfits? Would love to get one!

Gah....I'm trying so hard to avoid this race, but I *so* want to sign up. My sister registered and my husband gave the OK, but I think I'd rather do the DL Half and take my whole family.

I don't know what to do?! Eek.

:confused3

Go for the AP! With the deluxe pass, there aren't any block out days in January. :)

Yay Amy! You'll do great! Tink was my fist Half last year, and it was an amazing experience! Probably the highlight of my year! :) Its such a great race!

Check out Team-Sparkle.com for fairy wings and sparkle skirts! :)

Lucky!!! Sounds like heaven!!! Enjoy! :)

Go with the AP but I would spend the extra $$$$ for the premium AP. Better discounts on merchandise, food and NO black out dates at all. (Even free parking) I swear once you have a pass you will spend more time that you ever thought you would at DL. :rotfl:

95%, last call!

DH was betting it would sell out in a week and I said 2 days. It looks like I may win this one. :goodvibes
