Well phooey!

Has anyone done the Wine and Dine? I'm thinking I might like to do that one next year after the Tink to get my C2C. It is at night though. I have never run that late on a long. Is it something you need to practice so your body adjusts and doesn't rebel because it thinks you should be in bed? dde1ddde1dddca4ddca4cdf19cdf19

This is my plan as well. Not sure about running at night. I think the excitement will keep you going.

I ran it in 2011 and loved it! I never did any late night training though...and I am NOT one to stay up late, definitely a morning person here. The excitement and adrenaline helped me through and I never felt sleepy or sluggish...I used a few caffeinated cliff shots during the race too. I wouldn't worry too much about doing any late night training. Just make sure to sleep in the day of the race and try to get in a nap too...we stayed at the CBR that time and hung out in the hammocks all day. :)

Just wanted to share I finished my first official 5K today. It was at the local high school to benefit a charity that helps supply water to rural communities in Africa (several of my good friends are on the board). I wasn't sure how I would do , but I did run (well, slowly jog) the entire way. My time was just under 40 minutes, lol. Gotta start somewhere, right? But now I know if nothing else, I can at least do a 5K by the time January gets here.

Hi! I spent most of last year lurking on the Princess 2013 board, and I learned a ton of stuff, but I'm going to try to actually participate a little more this year.

I used to run before kids (15 years ago) and have just gotten back into it in the last year. I picked the Princess as my first post kids half and really had a great time. The crowds and humidity were not awesome, but the whole experience was transforming.

This year, I'm planning to run at least one race each month. My race calendar includes Expedition Everest 5k in May, Wine & Dine 1/2 in November, Space Coast 1/2 in December (unless I get really fit and decide to upgrade to the full), Tink 1/2 in January and the Princess again (for my C2C) in February.

I'm using this spring/summer to get my speed up and weight down. I've lost 35 pounds during this year and want to lose 30 more to get down to my goal weight. I found it really difficult to lose weight while doing the long distance training as I got closer to the Princess. I'm also the rare person who gains weight (while eating sensibly) while breastfeeding, so I guess it's just a strange stubborn body issue of holding onto fat under stress...

I'm really excited to go to CA and DL, I'm a Florida girl and haven't been to DL ever. I'm planning to go solo (may meet a west coast friend there) and I'm going to book my hotel next week based on the great recommendations here.

Just booked at CCI for the 16th - 22nd:). Looking for decent airfare next then waiting until July for registration - ughh that seems so far away!
