Official 2013 MVMCP Information

I have 5:05 ADR at Ohana on my party night the 14th! Should I count on not being able to see the Dwarves?

Loved seeing those castle pictures. I am so excited to see MK all decked out. It will be the perfect ending to our vacation!

So if I want to avoid Main Street, will I miss anything major? And would frontier land be the next best place?

If you watch the parade in Frontierland, how soon do you need to find a spot?

Wondering this too.

And how good would photos be of the parade? I heard Main Street had the best view if you want good photos since it's more lighted. But I think we plan to get a spot in Frontierland.

This is from Kennythepirate's blog regarding the parade:

A terrific and very long Christmas parade! During the parade many great characters parade past, but the highlights are the marching Toy Soldiers who actually play their instruments and jolly ole Saint Nick. I recommend attending the second parade. You won’t have to secure a spot as early. The best spots for the first parade are usually taken 60 minutes early and the same spots could be found for the second parade 15-30 minutes early.

Perfect, thanks for the info! And I am very sure this has been asked before but...the parades are at what time? We're going 11/21.

I'm curious to how much boards and websites that we all get our info from is accessed and changes the information.

For example, just how many people will end up at Frontierland and how many will be at the second parade instead of the first. :)

Either way I'm sure it will be a fun experience.

These "tips" about 2nd parade and frontier land have been long standing. I keep fearing that my "secret spot" will be packed after seeing everyone point it out prior to arrival. This will be our 6th consecutive year of attending MVMCP... And all the years past, rest assured it was still an awesome spot/time to watch. Truth is, the second parade is often way too late for families... And people want to pack themselves in to watch the parade on Main Street,,, we talk about it a lot here, but many aren't as "in the know" when they head off to WDW!

Would anyone be willing to share their plans for the party? I would like to see if my plans are doable or are way off base. Or I would like to see how others handle the party. Thanks so much!!

I think it will continue to be a good time to see the parade just as the end of pm magic hours are mostly less crowded. I don't expect no people.. but anyone with small kids will likely opt for the first parade. People are exhausted after a long day/night at the parks.

Last year we went for the 1st time. I took my girls to get in line for the princesses & prince before the 1st parade. At that point it seemed like no one was in town square & I could have had a prime spot for the parade, instead after reading all the tips I planned to do the 2nd parade. We had an awful spot for the 2nd parade & was disappointed I didn't go for the 1st parade. I am going to be flexible this year & go with my gut feeling this time. :)

My DD is a parade CM and is usually spot-on for knowing where the most open viewing is. After a few MVMCPs, I'll ask her if she sees any patterns on good viewing areas that aren't too crowded. In the past, she has always suggested in front of the Main Street train station.

I would love to hear what she says!
