Official 2013 MVMCP Information

The only day we can attend is Nov. 22nd, the Friday before Thanksgiving. Will that evening sell out? This is a makeup trip from one we had to cancel at Christmas, so we really want to see the parade. Will it be so packed that we can't enjoy it?

Does anyone know what characters will be in the MVMCP this year! This is our first year doing it and was wondering if it is like the Halloween Party!

I'd like to know more about the characters, etc too. I don't like halloween AT ALL, but we went to the party a few years ago and loved it. I ADORE Christmas but for some reason cannot get excited about MVMCP!! We've never been before - I guess I'm expecting it to be crowded - I don't know... Can anyone give me more info to get me excited? Please? .

I'll be interested in the answers, too. Our tickets for the December 3 party just came today. My daughter is excited but I'm not so much. I think I may just have to get there to understand the spirit of it all.

I don't know much about the characters (as this will be our first time as well ) BUT the cm I spoke with said its the only time we will meet the wooden soldiers. She said they are only out during the party and She also told me that we will be able to meet Uncle Scrooge (seeing I told her the Christmas carol was one of my favs)

We're coming from Mass to, where about? Where heading down Nov 11-18

We are also coming from Mass.(woburn area)! Oct 31st - nov 9th...

We also paid a few extra $$ to fly JetBlue.. Delta moved our return flight leaving Orlando at 7pm to leaving at 1pm!! I couldn't believe the moved the flight up that much..
Got a full refund and booked through JetBlue!

I hope it won't be too packed because that is the night I bought tickets for.
I would buy early as there is no discount for that night but I thought I read it could sell out because of locals.

So I can't decide if we should go Friday, 12/6, or Sunday, 12/8 for MVMCP? I read somewhere that Friday the 12/6 would have lower crowd. I would think being a Friday there would be more people than Sunday. Anyone that's been on either day have any advice?

The general advice is to avoid Fridays if you can because locals go on Fridays, which make them more crowded.

I've been debating between Fri 11/15 and Sun 11/17.
I would like to go on 11/15 (it is my arrival day, flight arrives at 11:55am, so I should have time to check in at AKV and hang out for a couple of hours before heading to MK).

I am eligible for DVC discount ($58) and Military discount ($43.40). Obviously Military discount is better, BUT, I can't buy those prior to arrival. Should I chance it and try to buy a ticket for 11/15 upon arrival or should I pay the extra and buy the ticket thru DVC in advance?

I suppose if I wait until I get there and the 11/15 is sold out I could change and go on 11/17, but my plans work better with the party on the 15th. Decisions, decisions . . . .

I might wear a Mickey/Minnie Santa hat but no plans to Dress up. Especially since I don't know if it will be warm or cold. I'm layering it for the week. Hoping for warmer weather.

According to experts on here, Fridays are more crowded because of locals... he suggested that the Sunday party would be better.

We are going on Tuesday, December 17th, on my DD's actual 4th birthday with BOG reservations at 4:25. Can't wait!!!
