Princessess,
I need your help.
Who knew there were so many purple colors out there.
I have a purple Sparkle Skirt and I'm trying to find the right top to match it for the run.
I'm leaning towards no sleeves as I think it will get toasty out there.

Here's the pictures of the tops.
Let me know which one you like!

Just my 2 cents, but this combo really "pops" - but it may look different to you vs me seeing on a computer screen. Best wishes for a great race!
I am more concerned about the possibility of lightning. Rain's not a problem for me, I ran my first full marathon in a light spring rain. So running in the rain is nothing new to me. And I doubt they will cancel over a rain shower. Its just the prospect of lightning. Anyway I am just going to stop talking about this.
Will the race be canceled/postponed due to weather?
All Princess Half Marathon Weekend races will be held rain or shine, except in the case of lightning. For the Walt Disney World® Lightning Policy, please seee our Safety Page.
Weather
The race will be held rain or shine. If there is lightning in the area the race will either have a delayed start or, depending on the intensity of the weather, be cancelled. The determination will be made by the Event Management staff.
The Walt Disney World® Resort Lightning Policy
Event operations will shut down when lightning is 10 miles out from the event areas. Event operations will not resume until the lightning is 10 miles out moving away from the event areas. Sports Manager will determine this using the *Flash to Bang Rule* and weather radar. The Sports Manager will consult with Walt Disney World® Resort Management on a course of action to utilize the operational rain plan, delay the event, or cancel the event.
*Flash to Bang Rule* is applied by measuring the time (in seconds) between a visual lightning "Flash" and hearing the resulting "Bang". This time is then divided by a factor of "5" to obtain distance in miles. For example, 50 seconds between "Flash" and "Bang" divided by "5" equals 10 miles.
As there is not a shuttle from BLT, I was planning on driving my van and taking any others with me who wanted to join. As I'm injured and won't be able to run, I'm still planning on driving that morning from BLT. I believe Kappyfamily has two riders, I have room for three more riders comfortably in my van. PM me if you're interested in a drop-off as well. We were going to meet at BLT lobby.

I still haven't gotten any final race instructions via email. Aren't they on the website anyway?
Before my 1/2 last week the farthest I had gone was 11 miles, and that was four weeks before the race.
My daughter (14) and I have been training to run the 1/2 and are ready to go! She has had some funny arm twitches for the last month and this morning her leg gave a twitch which landed her on the ground. Most mornings at about 6:30am, she will have a funny twitch which is intense enough it will lead to her dropping her make-up, brush or whatever is in her hand. It is isolated to the mornings and there is no pain or numbness associated with the twitch. We called the Dr. and since she was not in the office today, she sent us to the ER. X-ray showed nothing (good news) but she is scheduled for an MRI tomorrow (scary). I have no idea what could be causing this. The ER did say she can have NO physical exercise until she sees the Dr. tomorrow. We are supposed to leave next Thursday for the 1/2 marathon but as of now, I am nervous. Please send good vibes our way. Thank you.

Tomorrow is my last day of work before we leave for a DW VACATION that will end with the race! I have a boatload of work to get done, but I'm so excited. Here we go!!!!

Is she going to see a pediatric neurologist? Sometimes just making sure to be well-rested makes a difference with muscle twitches, which can be a brain issue more than a muscle issue. (I know it can be hard for a teen to get enough sleep!) I think there are some common issues like this in teens, so hopefully it is something they can figure out quickly before the race. Glad I saw this post as it reminds me! Just this morning we ended up renting a car while we are there so now will not need a ride. Feel free to load up that van! Thanks again, Michele
