Official 2011 Princess Half Thread Part II!!!

I think that happened to mine too. I always get small race shirts, but mine says medium too.

Did anyone else see the post on facebook about the Princess Dooney and Bourke line that will be available for 25% off this weekend? I want one!

good to know, thanks for this info

Just wanted to stop in and wish everyone running the princess this weekend good luck! You'll all do fantastic! I wish I was going to be there...I'm going through some serious disney withdraw!

Another after-race transport question for all you Disney gurus (haven't been in a few years and stayed at Ft. W last time.) Am staying at the Swan and I am wondering if this will work - I am def. expecting to be done by 9, when Epcot opens. Will it be possible for me to walk through Epcot, get on the Friendship boat and get to the Swan by 10:15?

I have my car and am driving a carful to the race from the Swan. However, my DH, in an uncharacteristically creative move, made an appt for me at the spa at the Swan for a massage - my Valentine's Day present.:lovestruc While I appreciate his thoughtfulness at actually making the appt, he made it for 8:00pm Sunday night - I plan to be in the MK then!!! I called today to switch it earlier (before our princess lunch at 2:45 - the spoiling continues!) and the only thing they had was 10:30am, requiring me to check in at 10:15! Don't want to leave my group in the lurch so am considering passing the car keys to my roomie and catching the boat back to the Swan. Do-able?:confused3

Oh - and got my skirt today! My niece sewed it and, while it looks adorable, it's much shorter than I thought it would be. Of course, I told her I would be wearing running tights underneath, and now it's looking like it will be shorts. Kinda glad it's short, then, so it won't be too scratchy!

Thanks, all!

I'm pretty sure I am going to be the minority but I was hoping for cooler weather!! I'm from South Florida and was hoping for some cooler temps!! Better not forget that sunblock! :cool2:

Nope, I am in the FL panhandle and was hoping for cooler weather. (Though not as cold as some of you are seeing.) I am so use to running in 30-50 degree weather. When I ran yesterday it was almost 70 and it was hard to find a groove. Reminded me of when I first started training.

Hi Princesses!!!

My DH will be carting my 2 DDs and DS to Magic Kingdom and then finish line. All three children are under 5 ....though my DM will be along to help.

Anyways, our plan was for DH to leave Rental condo at 6:30 a.m. with the troops and head to Epcot to park and take monorail to MK....then hop back on monorail to catch me at the finish line....

REALISTICALLY....is this doable???
:confused3:confused3

You need to check for road closures. It also depends on how fast you plan on running the race. Check the Official Program for road info and spectator chart. Good luck with your plans.

Woo hoo! First day back to work and I think the meds are finally kicking in. I may just beat this long drawn out strep thing! I am finally in the house now after long evening meetings. I leave after work on Thursday to stay at an airport hotel with my buds! Now, I have to start packing . . . oh, and I need to get my toes done. Flip flop weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got something like that a while back too and LOVE it! I thought it was the perfect alternative to wearing an actual tiara...which I know would have really gotten on my nerves during the run. I'll have it up in a brown ponytail too...but our outfits are opposite...I have a black top and pink skirt. :cutie:

Cool! I tested it at my run workout tonight...I kept asking people "Is it sparkly? Can you see it?" :rotfl:

Now I'm re-thinking outfits if it's going to be so warm...plus, I remembered I need two run outfits (5K and 1/2).
So the 5K will prob be pink skirt and pink/white tanktop with built in jog bra. For the half, prob the black skirt, but might be down to a jogbra only on top if I get hot, and the pink top I was going to wear is not a throwaway shirt. hmmm..

What number are you? I'm a TX girl, too...we should meet up! A friend of mine from Spring did Princess as her first 1/2 last year. I'm staying at AS Movies...going economy this trip. :cutie:

My race number is #3011, staying at AS Movies too! We're getting in really late on Friday...scheduled to land at 10pm...and staying until Wednesday afternoon.

I'm worried about the weather too...I planned to wear a short sleeved dri-fit shirt that I blinged out, running capris and a pink Team Sparkle skirt over that. Now, I'm wishing I had a sleeveless shirt...I looked for one at several places this past weekend but couldn't find one I liked....also wondering now if I should switch to shorts under the skirt now instead of the capris. I was really wishing for cooler weather :headache:

I keep checking the weather hoping that it will miraculously change to a high of 65. Bumming about it being 60 by 9am.

I know this is a no-no, but I was planning to find a top to wear at the expo. I am planning to buy one that is a brand I've worn before, but I don't have any cute princessy tops to wear. I packed a couple bland tops just in case I don't find something. I have a hard time remembering what warm weather feels like, so I'm waiting until I get to Florida and feel the heat to decide what to wear.

No you guys are not the only ones who wanted it cooler, I mean I didn't want freezing, not HOT weather, haven't run in that since last fall and I realized i much prefer cooler runs to hot.

I was doing Capris, now I am going to wear shorts and thinking of tank top....sheesh....never thought I would be wishing for cooler temps but haven't run in a tank so wondering if I need the body glide. I did get my tiara sewed to my red had though. Its pretty light weight so thinking it will be ok, it doesn't move at all. I pack tomorrow!

Chickened out on running today, but did get a good workout on eliptical 3.45 miles...if I could only run as fast as I move that machine! I see my PT on Thursday one last time before the big test of my foot and mental abilities. I can finish, I want to finish......lets do this princesses!princess:

I'm #4270...so maybe we'll be in the same corral. I will keep an eye out for a woman at ASMo with some bling on her ponytail holder! Mind if I pm you my phone number in case you want to meet on the bus in the morning of the run? Will be nice to have a TX friend for the morning, unless you will be otherwise occupied with who you are travelling (and racing?) with. :)

Definitely running skirts for me, and tank tops or just jog bras. I get hot when I race (unless you're talking about the 2010 marathon). Aiming for about a 2:35-2:40 half...will be Gallowalking.

Had an appointment with my PT today and of course all the muscles in my calves and ankles and even my arches need to be rubbed out... and did it HURT... But now I'm ready to go for the race!!!!

Looks like there will be a few of us at AS Movies! What time are you all planning on getting on the bus? I can't remember what I did last year; blocked it from my memory I guess...

My mom made me a bow last night, it's big and blue and sparkles :goodvibes
I also ran on the treadmill at her house; after the warm weather we had here a few days ago I was having trouble putting on layers again to run outside! We had ice and snow yesterday morning. I'm so glad to be headed to warmth on Friday!

Here is my finished hat with Team Sparkle Skirt. I am not sure what top I am wearing, right now either black tank or short sleeved top in bluish color.

This is going to be my first big race so I know I'm going to be all wired and pumped up that morning...and I normally HATE to be late anywhere, so I plan to get on the bus pretty early. I want to be where I need to be and have some time to calm myself, stretch, etc. I'm thinking if the busses start at 3am and they say don't get on any later than 4am, I'll probably want to be on one by 3:15 or 3:30.

Sure, I don't mind if you PM me and want to meet up on the bus...see message above for the time I'm aiming for :) I'm running alone, but will have a group of 6 supporters with me. As of right now, they are planning to be on the bus with me that morning to EPCOT. We'll say our good byes there before I head to the corral and they'll all monorail it over to MK...they all have the ChEAR Squad gold package so will be waiting to see me there. I'm aiming for about the same time you are, although since it's my first, I just really want to finish with a smile :)

Probably too late now - should I have purchased the CHear package for my parents? They are staying at the BC and plan to go over to MK for 6:50 (what the spectator site recommended "if" I stay on pace. LOL) and then take the monorail over to Epcot. They have APs so tickets are not an issue. We checked the map several times but are unsure of just where the finish in Epcot it. I'm sure that this has been posted here before so I apologize for having to ask it again (search is currently disabled on the DIS!) I've been struggling with my runs lately so have not kept up with this thread as much as I should have ...I've been freaking out just a little bit....

Love the outfit saysay! My nieces mailed me some ribbons they decorated for my outfit. They are pink and say things like "U ROCK" and "Go Aunt Robin".... so cute and thoughtful. Now I just have to figure out how to incorporate them on my tutu. I think I'll tie them into bows and then stitch them on with some pink thread.

I'm getting so excited! Finished my last run before the race yesterday. It was a balmy 66 degrees in Charlotte at lunchtime, and I must say it felt great! My run was about 3.4 miles. My right ankle was aching for the first mile, but then it worked itself out. Now I just have to finish packing tonight. I leave straight from work tomorrow to my parents house, and then on to Pop Century on Friday. As excited as I am for a mommy getaway, I had some familiar pangs of sadness when I was putting my kids to bed last night. Oh... a mother's guilt.

Once I'm down at my parent's house, I am going to try and iron on my "Princess Robin" bling to my black running tank. Several of you said that it should work on the moisture wicking material, so I hope it comes out. Any tips for how to do it without melting the tank would be appreciated. Otherwise I'll be running to Walmart to get another black tank.:cutie:

Hope everyone is enjoying their final runs, and have safe travels!

No ticket needed to view you on Main St. they can get a spot along Main St. and then when you pass by, they can move toward the castle and see you exit there before moving to epcot. Once off the monorail the finish will be left of "ball" (Mission earth). Stand facing the ball and the finish will be left of there on the opposite side where the disney buses come in. Hope that helps.
