Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

We are traveling to Disney in early September. It will be our first time going during the fall months. We are trying to decide if we should take our DD-3 to MNSSHP. If we go, we will attend the first night on September 13. Is it less busy then? Is this appropriate for a 3 year old or is it better for older kids? If we are planning on going to a different park that day and then going to the MNSSHP what time can we enter the park? She is going to be Snow White for Halloween so I would love to get a picture of her with all of the dwarfs. Thanks for any advice and tips you may have!

The party is perfect for a 3yr old, however, you want to make sure they get a nice long break at your hotel room before the party. The party starts at 7pm, but isn't over until 12am, and I feel like it's a waste of money if kids are asleep for the whole thing because they aren't used to staying up that late and didn't get a good nap. So, that should be a big priority. My neice is 4yrs and we are taking a nice 5 hour break before go.

You can get into the park at 4pm with a MNSSHP ticket. You may even want to consider sleeping in that day, not going to another park, and getting to MK at 4pm for rides and then the MNSSHP.

If you want to see Snow White and the dwarves, get in there line at 6:30. Lines are the longest at 7:30. I hate waiting in long lines personally.

Someone will post a ton of info about the party when it becomes available and I would look over that info, so you know what you want to do and where you want to be. Have a basic plan at least.

The crowd level that day is a 1 out of 10, which means very low crowd levels! HOORAY! I think that 1 is everyone on this board who says they will be there...LOL:lmao:

Have fun!

Here is my costume!! what do you guys think? Obviously my hair is not done in this pic but i am going to flip it out for the party and curl my bangs!! So what do you all think? :tinker:

I think it's cute. We made one like this and used pluto instead of a poodle.

I talked to DH yesterday and got the go ahead to buy tickets to a second MNSSHP during our trip! We have already got tickets for Sun the 16th. We arrive at MCO around 9:00pm on the 15th and are spending the night at the Hyatt there. THen heading over to Disney in the morning to check in and get some breakfast. I have a 10:40 ADR at Ohana that I'm hoping to make it to since we are staying at BLT. (DS is a HUGE Pluto fan right now)

The plan is to head over to MK around 2:00ish and maybe catch a quick ride on something then get over to BBB for DD's 4:00 appointment. DH will probably hang around for a bit after that and maybe do another ride or two with us before taking DS and heading back to the resort. He doesn't get excited at all about MNSSHP and DD and I have fun just the two of us.

But yesterday I mentioned to him that DD and I might like to go back to the party again later in the week and he said go for it. He would take DS and go back to the lounge at the resort and hang out happily. I'm so excited because that means one night we can hit rides and candy and just enjoy the "feeling" of the park during the party and then the other night we can make sure to catch the parade and fireworks and stuff. I'm so excited! And luckily I got the first tickets with the DVC discount. It looks like the second night is not discounted but it won't be too bad since we don't have to get a ticket for DH.

So, we're attending our first MNSSHP (our first WDW trip) and I want my DS to wear a costume but I'm having problems finding one for a BOY taking into consideration that's its going to be hot outside. Anyone have any suggestions?:confused3

For ideas or something different:

(Sometimes seller's will bring the price down if it's to high for your budget, but sometimes not.)

A lot of people go with Pirates because it's easy and can be comfortable: oversized white shirt and pants with accessories.

I saw one parent last year with a son who was wearing a pretty cute superman costume. The mom said is was actually pj's but it looked so good, he let him wear it as a costume. It was breathable and comfy.

Each year our family always comes up with a "group" theme. I'm a little stuck this year on ideas!

We are a family of 5 going to MNSSHP on 9/27: me, dh, ds8, ds6, ds2.

I was thinking of doing t-shirts each with a different superhero.

In the past we've done:

harry potter, pirates, incredibles, cat in the hat, football teams, lilo&stitch

Anyone have any ideas?

I really like Trueblood and thought of wearing a Merlotte's t-shirt, having my husband in a BonTemps Football shirt and having my 3 boys as either a vampire or werewolf!!!!! But I don't think they'll go for it!!!!:rotfl2:

I LOVE True Blood. There are a lot of different options for that. Have you seen this site?

Hurray for great Husband, my DH had me change our ADR to an earlier time just in case we want to go to the party twice.

You could do the Avengers... They're Marvel so ties with Disney somewhat... you could be the Black Widow, and the boys Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and the Hulk....

:goodvibes
