Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

We're going on Sept. 16th for the first time!! So excited! :cool1:

We have ADR's at Garden Grill at 4:30, then will hop the Monorail over for the party. Will that give us enough time to get in line for the characters (most likely Flynn!) and get a good spot for the parade/fireworks? We'll have DD4 and DS6 with us, but we're also going with 2 other families (10 in all, 4 of which are kids) and we all have ADRs at the same time/place.

Are the earlier parties less crowded?

I would think you are cutting it close if you want to be in line before the party opens at 7. Consider that you get seated by 5:00, takes an hour minimum to eat and visit with characters, 6 pm, get out of park and on the monorail with 10 people and to the purse check at MK by 7, if you are lucky.
If meeting Flynn and the parade are your only must do's, then even entering at 7 should work.

I guess I should clarify too that we all have ADR's at the same time - but we are not sitting together. I know we want to do Flynn, Parade, Fireworks and would like to see the vilians, but rides are not a must. We also are planning on staying as late as the kids will let us - which considering my son went until 3am over Christmas I imagine will be late! But I think see about trying to switch the GG time to another day or earlier.

hope this hasn't been asked - I don't remember reading any thread on it but I have read so many I might be confused.

We really don't want to buy our MNSSHP tickets until we are there (weather and all) what is the likely hood that the week of Oct 19 -23 will sell out? :confused3

We won't know until the parties get under way how early you need to be in line to see Flynn. But I'd say you need to be IN the park IN line no later than 6:30, preferably sooner. If all goes well, that might happen. But it doesn't leave room for being seated late or delays getting through the turnstiles. Only you can say if it's worth worrying about it.

We usually start party nights with an ADR INSIDE the park at 4 or 4:15. Then we start the line for whatever headline character we want to see, thereby maximizing our available party time.

You should be fine. The parties get more crowded the closer you get to Halloween, but if I recall correctly only the Halloween and Nov. 1 parties actually sold out last year. The 20th will likely be the quietest night of your trip.

ok this may be a silly question but... how do you purchase the discounted DVC member tickets?

We purchased our MNSSHP tickets for Oct. 25. We decided we would pick them up sometime when we get to Disney rather than having them mailed tot our home. We do have our confirmation number but I was wondering if tickets are ever "lost". Am I taking a risk by not having them mailed ahead of time? I will be at Disney two days before the party. Thanks.

You can call MS or there is a link on the DVC member site. If you are buying them with the DVC discount you have to pick them up at will-call as you will have to show your member card.

I am going to be in Disney same time as you and also hopeing I have no trouble buying my tix once I get there.

Some time back I tried researching on the DIS what dates sold out in 2010 and the only two that I found stateing they had sold out were Sun 10/31 and Mon 11/1.

Fri 10/22 was not busy
Sun 10/24 crowded but barable
Thu 10/28 also crowded but barable

I am just getting started on the thread, and I'm way behind on some questions and I'm sure they have been answered, but I love to put in my 2cents. :lmao:

We are totally excited for our first MNSSHP! We will probably go on 10/23 and if we feel we want a second party we will decide there.

Quick question, and I know I have read this elsewhere but I can't seem to find it, but I am a HUGE villain fan. How many can you usually see after each Mix and Mingle?

TIA! :thumbsup2

We haven't been in 2 years, but did go for years since the first party. But anyway, last time was really the first the kids weren't afraid to do the villians. I think we were able to see 4 before moving on. They allowed pictures only, no autographs due to time.

Planning to go on October 7th and it will be our first time. Just me and DW no kids hope we will enjoy it. Don't know if we should dress for the party or go as is. Any thoughts.

Your going to a party! Dress up!

Hi! My mom and I are planning a trip from the 8th to the 16th of October - we're so excited, especially for MNSSHP. Currently, I'm trying to decide if I want to do it on my birthday (13th) or earlier (11th). Part of my problem is I'd really been looking forward to going to Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner on my birthday, but I wouldn't want to take away from MNSSHP. And also, I'm currently tossed up as going as Rapunzel (cuter but harder to get a hold of dress, like the outfit better) or Belle (the blue provincial dress, easier to get ahold of, I would make a better Belle than Rapunzel). What do ya'll think?

But anyway, I am so excited! I'm actually day-dreaming about standing in line for the 7 dwarves :goodvibes. Can't wait!

Well, I know the Rapunzel is hard to get, but she is the new princess and I think there will be tons of them. Belle as the provincial, I don't think I've really seen. We look for unique. Go with that!

I'm in need of costume ideas. We have me, DH, DS7, DS2, and my mom and dad going along. The last time it was just DH and I. We dressed up as HSM basketball player and cheerleader. We would like to all be within the same theme and of course something Disney. Any suggestions?

The little ones could be Buzz and Woody and the rest of you fit in the characters around that. We love to go as a large party. Last time we were there (we haven't gone in fall the last 2 years due to DD having issues in school) we did Hercules. And a some years before that we went at Aladdin. My sister was the magic carpet and such a huge hit!! People were stopping her to double check what she was. I made her a large caftan that looked like the carpet. Jasmine and Aladdin went and got the Genie to come see her. I can't find a picture of that. But I do have the Herc.

Not great, but it's what I have.

What is the likelihood of the party selling out on 9/30?
Would really like to wait and buy my tickets there.

Thanks. =)

In 2010 the only parties that sold out were 10/31 and 11/1.

You should be in line for the Dwarfs by 6:30 if that photo is a priority - the line stays very long all night.

Dumb question do you have to take a pic with all the dwarfs or can you have one with an individual dwarf? Planning our strategy have tixs for Oct 11, don't wont to waste time on a line to have a group photo.

Any ideas for costumes mom is a senior wants to be a Mouseketeer boring

:cool1::cool1::cool1:I've got my costume for 9/20....now my DH needs to pick!!! So excited it is our first time!!

I didn't see anyone taking pics with individual dwarfs, I'm not sure they would do that. Maybe someone else knows?

Could someone tell me what it is like on Oct. 31st? It's the only day we can go. I know it sells out but was wondering just how crazy it gets:scared1:

I doubt it will sell out, but there are usually discounts if you pre-purchase.

This is GREAT news! We are planning to go to the party on Friday 10/21. I haven't bought our tix yet, but am hoping to have the $$$$ to do so sometime in September.

We're going the same night and I also did ticket pick-up (I didn't want to worry about losing them or forgetting them). I saved the confirmation email in case there are any problems when we get there. I'll print a copy, but I can also view it on my phone.
