Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

I read a post that stated the non-discounted party nights can tend to be less busy, I plan on taking my chances with the party on the 21st.

That sounds strange since you would think being so busy would be why there are no discounts offered. :confused3 but, then again, maybe it is true. We have only been on discounted nights and the first time it was really busy. The second one was also pretty busy, but not nearly as bad as the first.

Wonder how early I would need to buy the tickets. Maybe I can wait until weather forecasts are out for that week and pick the day with the least chance of rain.

If i have missed it i am sorry, but has anyone heard or seen how the map will be set for trick or treat this year. With the loss of all the space in Toon Town where will they put the other candy stations.

Right after the first party, you can be sure that someone will post it on this thread!

Well. we've decided what we going as for our Sept 23rd MNSSHP!

Packer Fans!:rotfl2: I know...not much of a stretch, but if the weather is very warm we'll be more comfortable wearing T-shirts and comfortble clothing with lots of Packer accessories that doubles as our costume. Our DD will be going as Sleeping Beauty.

Is anyone going to be disappointed if something isn't there this MNSSHP?

I have to say, I don't see how Disney can use NBC music all night and NOT expect guests to be disapointed that Jack & Sally are not available for M&G. I don't care if they don't change the ride like in DL, but they should have a M&G!:confused3:sad1: So here's hoping...

And I will be slightly sad if there isn't something new for the parade...

Apparently they've gotten away with it for some time...........

Although I do think they could add someone new given that the Alice trick or treat trail will be biting the dust.

I have to say though that I had the same hopes last year for MVMCP. I knew Belle's Enchanted Storytime was gone, along with Scrooge's tree stand and the Stepsister dance party at Ariel's Grotto..... all vicitims of the Fantasyland Expansion. The replacements were the Dwarfs (which were a big hit, but didn't excite me as much since we had just done Halloween the year before to see them) and the Woody's Dance party at the Diamond Horseshoe. Since we're not Toy Story fans (:scared1:) we didn't care about that. Hardly an even replacement for all that had been lost. It was an even bigger disappointment to find out NONE of the Alice characters would be out either. That just seems to be a LOT Of losses in the face of higher ticket prices.

Soooooooooo........... I'm hoping you guys going to MNSSHP get some nice new things this year, but historically Disney not seem to feel an obligation to replace all of their take-aways, even when they raise ticket prices.

I've decided on my costume! Going as the Cheshire Cat!! Have got some parts of the costume on order, and made a start on my "cat ears"!! Just need to find a suitable top!!

Argh, with my trip just under 80 days away it's time to start prepping my costume, but I'm having trouble deciding on one costume. I've several ideas, I love them all, and I can think of reasons to do, and not do, all of them, but can't seem to settle on one.

Overall that will be what would ACTUALLY disapoint me. You know, SWW is basically free with park admission, and I feel like we got a lot! If I pay for this and don't "feel" like it was really worth the ticket cost, compared to free SWW, I'm not going again. Considering I'm a local and could go every year, Disney should think about that a little more.

I bet they will claim Flynn meeting with Rapunzel as an addition, which I don't count. If they bring back Naveen, that would be an "addition" as well.

YAY! I purchased my tickets today for the 1st MNSSHP - September 13:banana::banana::banana:

Just me and my mom :lovestruc and it's our first MNSSHP!!

Can't wait!!

We are going oct 11. We have went early sept henpast two years and loved It. Last year ds announced a week before trip he would like to be agent p. So I sewed it uP but I was sewing dd's orca costume onthe plane hoping to be done lOng before I get on the plane

Are there usually any MNSSHP days that sell out early? Typically I mean.

I would assume the 31st would, but are there others?

And does anyone know if any of the parties going on during the "Gartner Group" convention are closed for just those people? Is there a way I can find that out?

We are planning to go during that week and don't want to wait too long if there is an issue.

Thanks.

csn you rember what the weather was like?,how hot?. Weare going to be there 17th to the 27th of Sept.

We went last year. I don't like to spend a ton on extras. This year we decided to do Cirque du Soleil as our extra expense. My girls are not understanding what a hard ticket event means :confused3 I know that I am going to and up buying tickets. I can't imagine them seeing everyone dressed up as we are leaving the park. I think we need to start going in January.

Last year the only two that sold out were 10/31 and 11/1 parties

WooHoo for this thread!! Finally talked my hubby into me buying tickets last week (not just IM-patiently waiting for them). We had $128 disney dollars from our disney cc, so I used that and only paid 40+ out of pocket. DH coughed at 170 for 3 tickets to a party and kept asking if it was really worth it...I said YES!! ;)
We are going Sept 27 and I can't wait. Not sure how were doing the parade, dd watches the video and I think the music kind of "spooks" her (she is 4 1/2). This will be our very first time stepping foot on Disney property!
I've read this whole thread and have gotten some wonderful tips..:worship:Thank you! DD will be Ariel (naturally...she looks just like her), I'm kind of up in the air with what I want to be. I found a really neat Sally costume, but am wondering if I want to be dressed like that in the heat (especially with a wig), so am maybe just going to wear a tail and ears. DH so far is saying he isn't dressing up, but we'll see;)

We finally decided on costumes my daughter 12 is going to use her Kermit The Frog Costume the eyes are out enough. I will make her take flippers off before feet. Daughter 10 is going to be Cheshire Cat. I am going to be Mrs.Piggy and husband is going to be Fozzy Bear.
