Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Three different events.
1. Cinderella's carriage is decorated with fall foliage and pumpkins and makes a lovely photo background. Was in the stroller parking in Fantasy Land last time I saw it, but check newer maps when the appear here after first party.
2. Horseless Carriage is located in front of Haunted Mansion. A photopass person will take your pic. Act scared! Then add in the magic - a ghostly driver.
3. The Headless Horseman will ride really fast through the streets proceeding the parade. Need to have camera ready as he does not stop for photos.

Hope this helps.

And the line for Cinderella's Coach is loooooooooooooooooong. If you want this photo op without a massive wait, get in line for it right after you finish with the Dwarves. I just took this pic behind the photopass photographer when a family was finishing up because the Coach was so pretty.

And this is the Horseless Carriage in front of the Haunted Mansion. If the Ghost of the Southern Belle isn't hanging out front spouting nonsense while you are at the HM, wait around for her to come back. She is fantastic.

Check cindy's carriage around 6:30. In the past they opened that line early.

I SO wish they'd bring this out for MVMCP! Maybe the problem is that it's in that parade. Anyone know if it's the same one? BOO HOO! It's just too hot for me to go to MNSSHP, but that phopo op alone is worth it.

Not sure why they don't bring it out anymore for MVMCP but they used to! I have pics of my kids with the princesses around the Carriage at the 2000 party. It was located behind the castle.

Ok, sorry I'm asking so many questions. My top two must have photos are the dwarfs and Cinderella's carriage. What should I do first and what do I do second? Also I'm a big planner and I need as much advance information as possible so I don't get overwhelmed, darn ADD. Is it possible to get a map for the party before the date I'm attending? For example Im going to the party Oct 25th but I'll be in MK on the 23rd which is a party date. I'm eating at The Crystal Palace during the beginning of the party so I was wondering if I could pick up a map then to reduce my anxiety. I'm not going to hang around I just want to get a map and get out. I don't want to encroach on anyone's fun that night. Also I understand from everyone's helpful responses that only the meet and greet characters will do autographs as opposed to the dance party characters and the villains. Any idea which meet and greet characters I may expect to see? I apologize if this has bee answered elsewhere. You have all been so wonderful. It helps so much to have an idea what to expect.

Most year, a map will be put on here after the first party. You can also look at the thread from last year"s party to get an idea of what goes on.

If you wanted to get an idea, there is last year's map posted in the 2010 MNSSHP thread, so you could get an idea what will be there. Like the previous poster said, this year's party map will appear not long after the first party, and if you're not going until later in October you'll have plenty of good information from posters who have already been to parties this year. (Just bought my 9/23 party ticket- can't wait!!) As for the 23rd trip to MK, cast members are really good about getting people out of the park at 7:00 (we were shocked by their efficiency last year when we went), but you might be able to grab one on the way out. Don't forget your costumes!! :cool1: I'm planning mine already!

I know it's boring but I plan to be Snow White and my DH said he wants to be my prince. Very out of character for my DH. Disney must already be working its magic on him. My dilemma is that both of us are rather, ah, errr, pooh sized. I found Snow White costumes for me but none of the stores seem to carry costumes large enough for my husband (not even the plus sized mens costumes will do the trick). It's also difficult to find Snow White's Prince. For some reason finding Prince Charming is easy peasy but not The Prince. I did find a gorgeous Snow White and Prince costume that can be made to order in any size. This would also fix the problem of Snow White's dress being too long on me, I'm 4'11". The problem with these amazingly beautiful and perfect costumes is that it is more than we wanted to spend on costumes. Snow White is $155 and The Prince is $160. The fabric looks lovely on these costumes and they include everything. For custom sewn costumes these seem reasonable to me but I was hoping for feedback. I'm thinking this might be the only way to Deal with our size issues and really feel like we dressed up. I've already thought of choosing costumes that would require regular clothes but I don't think I want to go this direction. We have our hearts set on Snow White and The Prince. Also do you all think it would be rude or insulting to ask the seamstress if she can ever work with people on the price? I certainly don't want to offend anyone but over $300 dollars for two costumes is a lot for us. They really are special though. What to do? Thanks for any advice or opinions.

Here are the maps from last year:

In the past the Princesses greeted with their Princes in Toon Town. I am assuming this year the Princes will be will be at Town Square Theater. At MNSSHP we have also seen White Rabbit, Alice, Mad Hatter, Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, Tigger and I'm sure others I can't remember at this moment.

First off, I think it is absolutely awesome that DH is your prince!:thumbsup2

Secondly, the prices you were quoted do seem very reasonable. Does it include fabric? If the seamstress is using satins and velvets to create very realistic and custom clothing it doesn't sound exhorbant to me. I am very thrifty by nature, but I can spend easily in excess of $60 on material and embellishments alone. Consider her time as well. You may also get future use out of them, so see it as an investment.

However, it never hurts to ask if she can discount the price as you are having her do 2 costumes.

Good luck and have a wonderful time!

I haven't looked (sorry so many pages to read!) but has anyone opined about the location of the "treat trail" for this year in light of the construction or might it survive in its location from previous years? I do think that Main Street is going to be very busy with character interaction locations.

Great photo Beattyfamily! I sure wish they'd do that again for MVMCP!

Does Snow White no longer appear with the dwarves?

Snow White separated from her Dwarfs last year and moved into the princess room with her prince. That did not seem to diminish the popularity of the Dwarfs at ALL though. My preference would have been to keep them together, but they didn't ask me. :rolleyes1

What decorations are out during the day? Do the carriages and such stay out all day or just come out during the party? Some of these definitely lend themselves more to nighttime shots, and we'll have 2 nights in the park--party night and Saturday. Which night should I get the pics? (Obviously not talking about characters here...)

Not a lot of decorations during the day. The swags and pumpkins stay along Main Street, and the entry stays decorated, but that's it I think. The carriage goes back in every day.

How many Character interactions are there? I'm aking my DD a autograph book and I'm wondering how many MNSSHP theme pages I should include.

No word yet, but there are only a couple of places that work for it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they utilize the Liberty Belle for a character meet and greet (Donald and Daisy), and maybe Tom Sawyer island for trick or treating.

The Island would be really cool, but transporting across would be a nightmare.

I'm going to MNSSHP with my mom and my aunt in Spetember.
We're planning on being some characters from Peter Pan :)

My mom: Mr. Smee
My aunt: Wendy
Me: Tinkerbell!:tinker:
