Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

We'll be attending the 1st party as well...Sept. 13th. Please forgive me if this is a repeat question....I can't read through all the threads this morning (3 year old is getting inpatient)

Anyway we've been to a couple of MNSSHP before....love'em! The first year I didn't go till 7 and saw that a ton of people were already in and festivities begun....Second time went around 6:30 and they let us in....

My question is what is the earliest that you are allowed entry for the party. I'd like to start our fun asap too!

Thanks ahead of time!

Not sure what it is this year but I would check with them when you get down there. :surfweb:

4pm with your party ticket. Enjoy anything that isn't open during the party and get an early bite to eat so you can enjoy all the party stuff when it starts at 7 :thumbsup2

We went to MNSSHP in early Oct. 09. It was a record heat that year and so many people looked miserable in their heavy costumes. Luckily, we were dressed as pirates-in lightweight clothes, so we were ok. So, I'd keep that in mind when planning your costumes.

We're going this year, late October and hoping for no heat wave, LOL. I had a thought about costumes yesterday, and I'm wondering if we could pull it off. I thought we might dress as some of the kids from the Its a Small World ride. I wonder if people would "get" it?

Other costumes we're thinking about:
Ninjas
Cowboys
Jessie, Woody, Mr and Mrs Potato Head
Hercules characters-gods and goddesses

We are going the same week and hoping for nice weather. :thumbsup2 We are either going to both be mermaids, or I might be one of the Muses from Hercules.

This will be our first MNSSHP on Sept 23rd, and I was wondering if the 7 Dwarves autograph or if they are just there for photos?

Perfect!...I had no idea they let you in so early....thanks a bunch!

We were also at the party in Oct. '09, in 90+ heat, in polyester cavemen costumes. Ugh, talk about nearing heat stroke. We saw a couple in full-on Incredibles costumes that must've been dying. Trying again this Columbus Day weekend, but will probably go sans-costumes. We arrived at 4:45pm and walked in with no wait... it was great. I definitely agree that it was good to eat dinner right away before the party starts so you can fully enjoy the fun that begins at 7 sharp.

They just do a picture - and when we were there the line was sooooo long they were only taking one group shot for each family - they were not allowing individual pics with each person in the group. They move it fast.

I am not a fan of line holders, cutters etc. with a sense of entitlement that there time is more important than yours, but this poses a different scenario...
If each group/family gets 1 photo taken, then it would seem 1 person can hold a place in line while the others take advantage of the party and join the line holder for their 1 photo. It hasn't lengthened the waiting time for those in line in any way. Am I justifing poor line protocol?

sooo excited to see this thread and i cannot wait for MNSSHP!! I havent selected my dates yet but i will definitely be attending twice ( i do every year) my dates are sept. 26 - oct. 7th ;)

I just wanted say that I think line holding should always be acceptable as long as the person holding the line is holding it for one or two children tops and is not planning on taking an extra photo or time with the character. It's not far to make children stand in line for 20min to an hour and miss out on rides and the party. That's unfair and most children go crazy waiting in that kind of a line. If the kids have to go potty or need a drink and in that time it's not fair to say, "well, because your kid had to go potty, you have to go to the end of the line." If someone can hold their spot and they can be quick, they should be allowed back in their place. I don't know exactly how you meant your post, but I always think line holding is fair, especially when referring to holding that line for a young child. Children are more important, anyone kids.

hello and happy sunday - i have a 4:05 ADR at CRT on Oct 18 (mnsshp) i know we can't get into the park until 4:00 will the hold the ADR if we are a couple minutes late.

my husband and i are going to the MNSSHP this year and forgive me if this has been asked before- he wants to wear his kilt to the party for a costume. is this allowed? of course he wants to go sans undies, but ive told him that no one probably wants to see that if there is a fashion malfunction- especially getting in and out of the rides. haha
has anyone seen/done/know if wearing kilts is OK?
thnx!

Please tell him to wear undergarments, LOL. All it will take is one gust of wind or an unwelcome glance after getting up off a ride by a Mom and her kids and you all will be escorted out of the park and banned for life.

Thanks, we will just have to see how things are moving that night with the dwarves. BTW I don't have small children, we couldn't afford the World when my kids were little, so they are making up for lost trips now. (At 20 and 21) :rotfl: I do feel bad when I read the silly posts from folk who think adults shouldn't do meet and greets (or dress-up). There is just something wonderful about the magic of Disney that brings out the kid in all (er, most) of us.

It took me 32 years to get to WDW. I feel the same way! We could not go on vacations when I was little. Now, I get to bring my young children and feel pretty blessed about it. I know not everyone can do this. We all (2 kids, 3 adults) are dressing up for the MNSSHP.

warning to all: I am not a fan of cutting but please be kind if my very young twins need restroom breaks. I will be holding a place in line for them. I would never complain if someone ahead of me did the same for theirs.

I don't have a problem with someone holding a place in line for a child. I would them rather them hold a place in line than have the child screaming in line how they need to potty. I might have a problem if it was a group of 20

I don't see this being a problem at all. Just head straight to the back as soon as you get through the gates! :goodvibes
